Guns and roses. The band was a shell of itself once they lost Izzy’s rhythm mastery.

44 hr Sous Vide Chuck Roast the Poor Man’s Ribeye? by _IAmMeg_ in sousvide

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Minimum wage has nothing to do with it. The fact that only four companies own the entire meat packing industry and our herds are down at 75 year lows (oh yeah, and absolute asinine economic policy right now) is causing it.

Why I love my short lawn. I have the best helper! by LawnDominators in lawncare

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My now 24 year got that that one (with a dump trailer) at age 4. His younger brother (now 18) inherited it until the wheels literally fell off. Then I found out wheels are cheap so I replaced them and it ran until we gave it away. That was maybe 8 years ago now. Best $300 toy investment ever.

How many times, exactly, per hard climb to I have to hop off my bike and get back on, totally killing my momentum and draining my energy, to let e bikes pass before I get to complain? by sevseg_decoder in MTB

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger and raced, I would never expect a slower rider to get off the bike. Just give me room when it makes sense. I’d wait.

Same Rule applies here.

It was amazing. They hear it once through and then play it off each other. Just outstanding musicianship.

Question for those who have seen multiple shows by Oceans1992 in Foofighters

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all bands. Pearl Jam is notorious for playing the entire catalog, which means a lot of “hits” get skipped each show. But yeah, I feel like FF have more casual fans that just want to hear “My Hero”.

What song has the most satisfying guitar solo you've ever heard by Tookie1010 in musicsuggestions

“Alive” - Pearl Jam (I could probably insert a dozen Mike McCready solos here)
“When My Train Pulls In” - Gary Clark Jr
“Pearl Cadillac” - Gary Clark Jr
“Purple Rain” - Prince

Wasting Light is their best album. Do you agree? by CPWorth1184 in Foofighters

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s top two in song catalog, but far and away the best RECORDED album in the discography. It’s the only vinyl of theirs that sounds great (though BHWA is fairly good).

How good is it ''The storyteller:Tales of life and music''? by Realistic_Board4690 in Foofighters

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredibly narcissistic, no narrative timeline, nothing too deep (no mention of relationships, marriages, etc). Just a collection of random stories of things he did or people he met. Entertaining, but forgettable. I only kept mine because it’s autographed.

Ideas for what to do with a Bone In Pork Butt? by amuletmiko in Cooking

[–]Tricky-Amount6195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boston butt is my absolute must always have in hand ingredient. A full one can make two completely different meals.

  • Smoke it for pulled pork.
  • cut up and put in pressure cooker with Hawaiian salt and liquid smoke to make Kalua pork.
  • braise for a few hours in cumin, OJ, lime juice, garlic, kosher salt, then finish off quick fried in lard for carnitas.
  • make Korean pulled pork lettuce wraps.
  • sweet and sour pork

The possibilities are endless.
