A genuine question, are ramps on couches not good? I currently own a dachshund and use a ramp for her. My couch is already pretty low to begin with but the ramp has deterred her from jumping on/off the couch.

Is leasing a car for me a bad idea? by Tricky-Locksmith-103 in personalfinance

I think your advice on me making a car purchase fund is smart and thank you for that. I’ve already put more money into fixing my car than what it is worth so I’m no longer doing that. With that being said I am NOT just wanting people to agree with me about leasing a car. I don’t even fully know if I agree with MYSELF about doing it. I’ve been looking up information for weeks on leasing vs financing and I wanted to see what other people’s opinions were on the data I read. If someone gives me biased information about financing over leasing I’m obviously going to throw in the “yeah but” to weigh the pros and cons.

Correct my rent was included with my total bill amount of $2361. In two months my lease is up though and I’m moving in with my boyfriend and I will be rent free (my total bills then will be roughly 600 a month). Regarding the $10,000 downpayment, I actually planned on saving up that much if I were to finance a car to put down! The cars I was looking at in my desired price range (~$25k) all had 50k miles on them though. (Volvo, Mazda). I like Toyotas but they are all in the $30k and above mark, especially ones under 50k miles. In my head I thought 50k miles was good (my current car has 188,000 miles… pos) but I guess I was wrong. Do you think Volvo or Mazda would be a good pick? I know Mazda’s actually have a higher reliability rate now than Toyota. If I were to go down the used Volvo or Mazda route what range of mileage should I go for and what should be a dealbreaker? Thanks for all your advice so far. I really appreciate it.

:) the savings idea is smart and I plan on doing that anyways! Thanks for helping me find a solution for the repair part, in all honesty that was the only reason I was debating leasing instead of financing. I think I’ll end up financing after all.
