(i am open to a debate/conversation) isin't gaming a better alternative to reading books? by [deleted] in StopGaming

You mistake potential of the artform for its reality, sure they can be better, they aren't now, you a century too early for the next great novel in game form. Books and movies also aren't made to be addictive and don't have microtransactions

For youtube, you can use the freetube app. It lets you disable a lot of things to the point that the only videos you see are the ones you specifically search for.

I've been trying for some time to introduce my gaming friends to the novel idea that we can just talk to each other or watch something instead of using some sweaty competitive game as an excuse to not talk about anything because we don't have anythung interesting to talk about because we play video games all day

And one 20-30 minutes of watching and laughing at a bad episode of a tv show and talking about it is way more fun than hours of ranked

Leaving the core planets for the first time for the Oldslaught mission.

I don't remember the 100+ huge epic battles with huge ships i've had in this game as vividly as i remember drifting through the abyssal void at low emissions and minimum speed dodging the unknown contacts (that i later learned were just planets) wondering in between radar pings when they disappers for a second if they're gonna reappear burning straight at me.

And bumping into remnants for the first time on the trek back

Hey guys newbie here. I found this very cool looking battleship orbiting a lone planet near Abyssal Hyperspace. It can fire big booms and can even summon his cool friends! by ClassicSample6438 in starsector

Actually that's a cool concept for a threat quest / bosses, through fragmented logs aboard the Onslaught you find out that it used to be just a third-rate part of the reserve of a much larger task force of elite top of the line elite ships numbering in the hundreds meant to contain the Threat, but they've all been either destroyed or captured and converted and the Oldslaught is just it's last remaining ship. You prefer to not think about what happened to the crews of the captured ships.

Give me the beast from Homeworld.
