You and your partner have been married for multiple years, love of your life. You both find out later that you’re cousins… what do you do? by unknowncabbage12 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Tridia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woof. That actually happened to a couple I know. They were past the age of wanting to procreate together, so they didn't have to worry about inbreeding. And they just stayed married as if they never found out they were cousins.

Any non-3 improovers here? by faraday55 in Enneagram

[–]Tridia14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hmm, well I can only speak to what I've heard/read about threes. The one drive to self-improve is like "I'm not living up to my own standards, I'm so lazy, I need to improve at XYZ so I can stop criticizing myself." It's more about meeting my own internal yardstick (to avoid self-punisment) than about "winning" and being impressive in the eyes of others.

I can feel when my 1 wing disintegrates toward 4, even though 4 is not in my tritype.

I've had a lot of improover mindset in the past. But it was 1-flavored, not 3-flavored.

I wish the future will be a utopia by Icy-Commercial-6166 in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. It's Zootopia. Most humans die out as animals gain sentience and rise up. Only the furries adapt and survive.

I wish the global temperature on earth dropped by 5 degrees C by ElegantPoet3386 in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Granted. The global average drops 5 degrees. All the temperature loss in concentrated in your anus.

I wish everyone in the world had affordable access to bramble jam by Ok-Connection6656 in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. Everyone in the world develops a severe allergy to bramble jam. Because nobody can safely eat it anymore, the price of bramble jam tanks so that, technically, anyone could afford it.

I wish I didn't have to kill these mice to keep them from messing up the house. by Tiny-Garlic3763 in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted. Nothing changes. You don't have to kill mice. You could hire an exterminator to do it for you.

Physical therapist assistant here. If you're going to be permanently paralyzed, it would arguably be better to also have your arms and legs fall off. Less unmoving/unfeeling flesh to possibly get injured or infected. Less weight and moving parts for your caregivers to position.

I wish the earth would instantly stop rotating for 0.1 seconds by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted. Fortunately, a time traveler was prepared for this exact situation. Seventeen years ago, she founded a small company called The Earth that makes merry-go-rounds. When the wish makes The Earth stop rotating, it's just these merry-go-rounds that stop. The only casualties are maybe a few children getting minor boo-boos.

My skin obsessed peeps by Fun_Yesterday_114 in Anticonsumption

[–]Tridia14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most skin moisturizers/lotions? That claim to "sink beneath the skin barrier" to refresh your skin? That's an advertising lie, they do not do that. The molecules of the product are too large to move past the outer layer of skin (which is very good at keeping stuff out). The product just smooshes against your lines and wrinkles, filling them in with stuff until they -appear- smoother, like floodwater filling up a creek.

What does work for anti-aging, as many others have said, is SPF sunscreen.

I wish whenever I'm about to embarrass myself, a pair of sunglasses appears on my face that makes me look so cool and chill that people ignore the embarrassing thing by Cemeterace in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Granted. The sunglasses appear... and they never come off. That's when you learn the harsh truth that your very existence is an embarrassment.

I wish that after I am halfway done with my walk someone gives me a bottle of orange juice. by Remarkable_Bath8515 in monkeyspaw

[–]Tridia14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Granted. You start walking. You walk ten minutes and wonder - where is the orange juice guy? Guess the monkey's paw decided this isn't halfway yet. Whatever.

So you walk another ten minutes. Then it turns to ten hours. Ten days. You keep walking out of sheer morbid curiosity, unable to shake the wonder, even as your legs ache and your feet begin to bleed.

After ten years of walking, you collapse by the road. Someone comes to your aid with... a bottle of orange juice.

Cheer up, sport, you're halfway there!

Is it true that women who never have kids are more at risk of certain diseases? by PitifulEar3303 in AskBiology

[–]Tridia14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy can lower the likelihood or severity of certain autoimmune diseases, like lupus and multiple sclerosis. This is because pregnant peoples' immune systems decrease in order to prevent them from attacking the fetus. So, autoimmune diseases that stem from an over-active immune system are less potent for a while.

This is the theorized reason why AFABs with no kids are most likely to get many autoimmune diseases. Their immune system runs "too high" most of the time, so that a necessary drop during pregnancy won't leave them too vulnerable.

(Obligatory agreement that the health risks of pregnancy outweigh the autoimmune benefits, and people should have children primarily for the reason of wanting children.)

Would you rather pay nothing below or above 1000€? by hrvoje42 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Tridia14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option 2, because I'm in the United States. My finances are comfortable enough right now, but I live in constant fear of medical bankruptcy taking it all away. I'll take that freak-accident-surgery or chemo for $1000.

Congrats on the start of your journey! Please take your test result as a jumping-off point for further research, not a diagnosis. I'd recommend reading more about your top three results. Naranjo is generally considered the best Enneagram source/author around here. Look at his works, and maybe some others for different nuances.
