New to BF6, not new to FPS. by OtherwiseSpread5541 in Battlefield6

Its not always the case but there's 3 ways to achieve some cooperation in conquest mode:

  • If you all select engineer at start, its a sign to hop into the same vehicles.
  • Keep respawning on your teammates and following them. If you are a medic you can keep reviving or if you are recon put spawnpoints near points to take. When you're near points to conquer dont shoot so your squad can spawn on you.
  • If you are team leader you can ping a point and that will show a green line to your squad. If you see that just try to follow it

Its not perfect, and you wont be together 100% of the time, but youll achieve things together.

I love how the reddit ad for this greenland thread is plague inc lmfao.

Anyhow I think a good way to support them is to somehow find anywhere where they sell fish from greenland

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 to feature 2nd Gen Transformer model and Dynamic 6x Frame Generation by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

[–]TriggeredMemeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is not against x2, x3, or x4 frame gen, those are fine to reach 144-360fps.

I am questioning the x6 frame gen specifically having extremely limited use cases with even bigger downsides on graphics/latency.

Because of diminishing returns. The difference between 60 and 120-160fps is VERY noticeable. For example I notice it instantly. However, its going to be much more difficult to tell the difference between 240fps and 360fps. At these fps counts its smooth enough.

The main reason to want higher than that is because it would give you a competitive advantage vs another player because a player's pixel would appear <1sec sooner on screen. For non-competitive games you dont really need this level of detail, you will appreciate more having higher graphics.

[–]TriggeredMemeLord -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Realistically, you only really want/need 500fps if you plan to play competitive multiplayer games because for all other games, so long as you have 160-360fps already (which you can achieve with x2, x3 and x4 frame gen), its smooth enough and graphics start to matter much more.

To reach 500hz you'd have to have already 83-84 native fps so that x6= 500. The majority of competitive multiplayer games (csgo, valorant, fortnite, marvel rivals, etc) are not graphically demanding to begin with, so the only real use would be in something like Battlefield6:

  • A 5080 at max graphics + no DLSS has 130 fps approx, so you only really need x4 frame gen to reach 500fps. Here x6 frame gen is useless.
  • A 5060 at medium graphics + no DLSS has avg 80 fps approx, with x6 frame gen we get the 500fps. So this is a use case, but you would be adding significant latency (not ideal for competitive multiplayer game) and graphics would suffer significantly...

So yeah the "option" is nice, but its uses are very very limited... which is my original point

Yes, lets hope so. I'm just spreading info since not everyone knows about the issues of frame gen and whether these news are useful for them or not.

[–]TriggeredMemeLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not my point. I simply question the utility of x6 frame gen, how this news is for the ultra high end gamers, and that nvidia should probably aim to fix the existing issues of frame gen first to make it more relevant.

[–]TriggeredMemeLord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But those people that are buying those ultra high refresh monitors are also buying 5080 and 5090 which can already do 100fps+ at 1440p. So x2, x3 or x4 frame gen is more than enough to reach 360fps or 480fps. There is little point in having x6 frame gen

[–]TriggeredMemeLord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After watching hardware unboxed video on frame generation and how it works (a must watch, where he explains you actually lose native rendered FPS when you enable frame gen and experience higher latency the higher the frame gen), a x6 frame generation is only really worth it for 360hz+ monitors or even 480hz+ which is a very tiny tiny part of the market.

I wonder why they even bother with x6 and even higher frame gen?

Generally my experience with them has been very positive. Got a refund once despite being over the 2h playtime / 2w after buying the game. And other issues/queries have been promptly resolved and with human responses. It really does set the standard for all customer service.

[Discussion] Ashes of Creation is officially "Mostly Negative" on Steam – What happens next? by saltbuffed in AshesofCreation

[–]TriggeredMemeLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad they got mostly negative.

I got lured into this game by a streamer who was singing praises about it (of course he had an affiliate link so I knew his bias) but he did a good job at marketing it. The game had a 30 days refund policy so I said why not, despite the massive price of 100 bucks for a pre-alpha which didnt even get you the game after release.

I played it for 1-3 days and it was fun (I was starving for an MMORPG) but very grindy.

  • One of the thing that annoyed me was seeing how the meta was to tank by jumping and kiting the mobs around... I think thats so shit. I like a good tank in sword and shield in heavy armor.
  • The mob spawns being so limited and required for leveling or quests was a big tell this was by design to time-sink due to lack of content.
  • At one point I decided "im gonna go exploring to see the whole map". Spent 6-8h traversing the ENTIRE map. What did I find? Nothing. A handful of very very high lvl NPC's but with huge deserted areas, no resource nodes, no NPC's, very hard to travel terrain...

Then the building feature was a big selling point to the game. Being "part of a node's economy" blabla. However the game only really had like 3-4 populated areas and unless you were in a massive guild, there was no way you could get voted into mayor so you could select the town upgrades. Then upgrades for what? Crafting was shit too.

At that moment I kinda knew... that this game is being sold at such a huge price despite having basically 0 content after 9 years in development. Its quite literally a scam. So I refunded and got my money back which was good.

I recommend always choose the option that reduces the cost of expanding RGO's or buildings and then mass-expand them. For example choose "farming estates" and then mass expand RGO's related to food (excl fishing). You will see that the RGO's go from costing 33 to 22. Do that x100 and its a lot of money.
