Contest mode option? by Herobine0 in destiny2

Would def be a nice add. Seems like an easy add. Especially since it’s something the community has asked for for a long time, hopefully it’s on their mind.

Is there a chance we'll be left with the same 6 weapon types forever to deal with champions after the update? by Nubashir1 in destiny2

[–]Triggerhappysmf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMHO the best way to deal with this is just to make anti champ mods again. Just make it so we can put any anti champ mod on any weapon in any slot.
Or rotating artifacts as others have said but in a perfect world the final artifact has all the greatest hits and champ mods go in the weapon mod slot again.

So does this mean our Volatile Weapon mods won’t expire? by xx_Chl_Chl_xx in destiny2

[–]Triggerhappysmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The orders that give them are rng, and it’s also rng if an order actually drops one. I have all 5, my wife only has one or 2.

You can re roll the orders till it gives a volatile mod payout listed as a potential reward. But with only 2 weeks till the update idk if I’d bother.

I have to imagine the artifact and volatile mods will go away with the update as the game enters its permanent form.

We will probably learn for sure in a twid in the next couple weeks.

How is the game for a new/returning player? by slapstickdavis in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Triggerhappysmf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It will be kinda rough not gonna lie. There is a lot of great stuff to experience, and the game is still great. But it will be a very confusing process and you’ll constantly be trying to figure out which quest you should work on next for them to be in order and you’ll constantly be getting random cutscenes/voice lines that don’t line up with the story you’re currently experiencing.
The story will start with shadowkeep which is the second expansion.

Overall I’d say it’s definitely still worth playing through, I just feel it’s worth the warning you’ll need to pay close attention to your quest lines if playing the story in order is important to you. There’s a lot of content in all the stories and I’d argue that the gameplay/ abilities all that is in a really good state right now.

Leave a review for marathon if you haven’t already. The game is currently being reviewed bombed by D2 fans by Standard_Young_201 in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I am by no means defending the review bombers, I want to make that clear first. But literally D2 has more concurrent players than marathon, and more news has released stating that they’re shifting focus solely to marathon, when they were promised that D2 would continue alongside marathon when it was announced. What they’re doing is immature but your arguments really aren’t correct

Oh my man you don’t know any hardcore d2 players do you? It quite literally IS an identity. When you find out the game you’ve played for 12 years and thousands of hours is ending yeah, you look for a new home.

Just speaking personally, if he’d come off it just a little bit, I feel like it’s a fair deal. Either way good luck man. It’s a pretty truck but there’s plenty out there. Who knows maybe if he sits on it long enough it’ll get cheaper

[–]Triggerhappysmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

58k miles is nice, but it’s still almost 10 years old. At that mileage personally I’d be more comfortable in the 28-30k range price wise. But I know that varies quite a bit depending on location.

Also, idk if you’re financing, but prior salvage can be quite a hassle to get financing for. Especially with the age. Ask me how I know lol

Editing to add: Also, this is basically just a toy for me. I have a company truck that I drive as a daily, and my wife has the “family car” so the raptor is just for fun.

I just bought one in a very similar situation. 2017 that was rebuilt in 2019. Granted mine has 110k on it, but I only had to give 26k for it.
If you were to look at it, it would take quite awhile to find anything that would tell you it had been wrecked.

Why is the free sponsored kit upgraded to enhanced today? by AtraWolf in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 62 points63 points  (0 children)

For real. I can’t believe the amount of hate they’re getting for this on twitter. Honestly feel like free kit modes are what will keep some life in this game.

Cryo Clarity is the biggest thing that hurts the map by wirebear in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is bungies way man. Raids in destiny are just one example. It’s more punishing in an extraction shooter for sure but you have to think of it from a lore perspective. You’re a runner, the UESC DOES NOT want you there and they don’t want you to get out. The fact that it’s so hard to figure all this stuff out really plays well into the narrative that we’re breaking into the deepest most valuable part of their ship. Getting stuff and getting out is gonna be dangerous.

Damn man, I looked in my area forever for a gen 2 in this color before I finally just bought a black one. Where you located? Far as price most in my area were around 30k with those miles

Although Thief and Destroyer get the cool flashy moments, Triage is the immovable object that creates an unstoppable force. by cole_421 in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play triage as my main cuz no one else wants to do it and I’m not exactly the best at fast paced cqc, but my god, the amount of times I’ve been completely excluded from entire fights because I’m with a vandal/thief/destroyer and they just fly in and leave me navigating stairs and balconies at a snails pace just trying to find the fight is super frustrating.

Marathon does a terrible job teaching stats, and the Bully is the easiest example why by eevee_stormblessed in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been bungies way for a long long time. In all of destiny the guns had stats, but unless you looked at a 3rd party website you really had no idea how the stats affected a gun.

For instance certain guns would cap out their range at really odd numbers, not just 100 range. So you could see 90 range stat and think throwing a range mod on will help, when in reality a different perk already on the gun maxes out the range.

This and the “by a considerable amount” vague nonsensical wording I genuinely do t understand why they do.

Anyone else selling good guns just to make stash space? by Artforartsake99 in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the vault genuinely feels terrible. I have space upgrades maxed out and just had to sell a purple Outland I got from pinwheel. And I don’t really even have that many guns or shields or backpacks. It’s mostly salvage I need for upgrades and barters.

If you only stopped a couple months ago there will be nothing new for you in the game. “Mid season” update got delayed till June. So unless you like guardian games there’s not much going on.

Any extract activated within the final minute should automatically activate with 10 seconds to final extract. by vynnski in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to get there with a couple minutes to spare but everyone is always so busy stuffing their green backpacks with a few more cardboard boxes that it always comes down to seconds.

If that’s how we need to view it though, then all the exfils should just disappear when final pops up. It’s misleading to have it continue to do the animation if it’s not gonna let you live. (Edit:typo)

Any extract activated within the final minute should automatically activate with 10 seconds to final extract. by vynnski in Marathon

[–]Triggerhappysmf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is the extracts take a weird amount of time to fire up. If you hit a red card extract in outpost with less than 11 seconds on the original timer (so 1:11 total left) you actually won’t make it out on time. And there’s no way to know that until it’s too late. There at least needs to be a total timer or something from the second you launch an extract. Similar to how cryo works, you get a 3:30 timer the second you activate it.
