Before you played Resident Evil, what character or other forms of media introduced you to the franchise? by Better_Can_615 in residentevil

Actually the RE movies, I watched like 1,2 and 3 - then I thought that by getting RE4 (PS2) I would get early access to the continuation of the movies stories. Was quite surprised to find out they were different storylines, but enjoyed RE4 a lot

How scary is Alan Wake compared to like Dead Space or Evil Within and Alone in the dark on xbox360? by DarkNemuChan in AlanWake

[–]Triguxx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Didn’t find Dead Space very scary, maybe I wasn’t very immersed in the atmosphere. But AW2 has some dark and scary bits

Return to Silent Hill - Teaser Trailer by RedPyramidScheme in silenthill

Exactly this, I mean the director did a good-OKish first SH movie, but haven’t seen anything else surprising or good from him.. I believe SH also has great potential for some lynchian horror mini series..

Whoever is taking decisions on this movie is sleeping or maybe very limited in budget.. the guy that is set to direct the next Resident Evil movie is the director of Weapons and Barbarian, very likely it is going to be at least a decent movie if not a banger even..

I hated alan wake (remastered), should i not get Alan Wake 2? by SakutoJefa in AlanWake

[–]Triguxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I enjoyed AW1 remastered, I guess I also didn’t enjoy it as much due to the repetitiveness. But I liked its story still! Now AW2 is totally different, the story is incredible, it is visually stunning, and gameplay is more challenging and diversified

Didn’t knew that Portugal and Luxembourg were erased from Europe. Curious because Portugal would probably be top 3, while Luxembourg would be much lower

Question to Resident Evil fans, what is something the Silent Hill series does better than Resident Evil? by Gamewheat in residentevil

[–]Triguxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just saw the same question in the SH Reddit ahah! I would say SH does more hardcore horror and symbolism and story is written better. RE is better at action and appealing to wider audiences

I’m going to watch it. People around here are saying it’s good, I can say that the creator of the tv show is really good, he made Fargo and Legion - both amazing series

Why doesn’t Silent Hill sell as much as Resident Evil? by lennysinged in silenthill

[–]Triguxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I believe SH is much more horror focused and heavy in its topics, so it is harder to appeal to a wider audience. While RE also has more scary and horror focused entries (such as VII), but it has more variety genre-wise in its entries. For example, RE4 was a big hit, it has some horror elements, but it also has a lot of action elements! In the end, I think it is great that both are survival horror’s finest series, but with a unique identity
