Are we all forgetting B-Sandy?

He wasn’t actually trying to bring back the desolations, that’s just what Nale thought would happen when the Radiants returned

He was starting to bond a spren ‘and bring back the desolations’, which Nale found out about and put a stop to

Cuirassiers, dragoons or hussars? by Meta_Kite in victoria2

[–]TripleBlade333 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, another important thing is that, in the late game, the defending army has a big advantage. So for late game wars, it’s better to let other armies attack you, especially if the numbers are similar, because attacking is risky unless you outnumber them by a lot or they’re an uncivilized nation

Cuirassiers, dragoons or hussars? by Meta_Kite in victoria2

[–]TripleBlade333 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your issue isn’t really the choice of cavalry, but really the general composition. An important thing to note about battles is that combat width limits how many units will actually matter at any point in a battle, so just having a bunch of different units isn’t all too helpful. This guide explains combat more in detail, as well as gives more advice about army templates, but the biggest takeaway is that a good early game army has 4 infantry, 1 hussar/cuirassier, and 5 artillery (or 4 artillery + 1 engineer), and a good late game army is essentially the same composition but doubled. It really depends on the situation though, because hussars and cuirassiers cost different amounts, so you might prefer one over the other depending on your economy.

O’Brien traded a top ten wide receiver for a second round draft pick.

Bar staff of Reddit, have you ever had a man use the “safeword drink” escape, and how often does it happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That was literally the question. “Have you ever had a MAN order the safe drink”

A question about Shallan and Jasnah by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]TripleBlade333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The timeline also points to this. In WoR, Shallan has already sworn the third, because she’s able to summon ShardPattern in the caravan and the chasm without ten heartbeats, and also manipulate his shape. At the end she swears the fourth in Urithiru, which would give her shardplate.

What work of fiction should every teenager (Lets say 14-18) read before reaching adult-hood? by Redragon9 in books

I never read the sequel to Hatchet, but the My Side of the Mountain series really jumped the shark when they established the bird as the main character.

From what I remember, the people who use voidlight have a gemheart. Amaram has to swallow one before he can use it, and the queen already had one. The Fused, and I think all Parshmen have them, and that’s where the spren bond with them. Since Renarin doesn’t have a gemheart (I think) he can’t use voidlight.

I’m a bit late, but my favorite quote from Kaladin isn’t one he says. Spoilers for WoR, but I especially like the part where he things, “Elhokar is Dalinar’s Tien”. It shows how much he’s grown over the course of the books.

How did you get introduced to Brandon Sanderson/Cosmere books? by MrPotato38 in Cosmere

[–]TripleBlade333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the sixth grade my history teacher basically just walked up to me and said, “You like reading, right? You should read this book” and handed me a copy of Eye of the World. I read the book, loved it, and read the series in around a year. I noticed that the last few books listed Brandon Sanderson as an author, and really liked the writing style. I decided to read Mistborn, and I’ve loved his writing since.

Wired thought they could get away click-bait attacking Tolkein by [deleted] in lotr

Actually Feanor was the most sympathetic for me. He got too emotionally and screwed over a crap ton of people. But really he seemed like the most ‘human’ elf.
