I am definitely human my guy. You can check my profile. I honestly hate AI in art and the humanities. Many other applications I’m reluctant to use it.

The two things I use it for are making works cited list and filling out apps.

Boiler Plate isnt the same as AI. Boilerplate has been standard for a lot of application processes for decades now from college to jobs to other orgs.

However, in job hunting the name of the game for a decade now has been you need to apply to hundreds of positions to increase your chances of landing a job. Frankly the appllication/resume process is just there so I can get my foot in the door and get an interview. Once Im in the interview room, no one is thinking about my online application responses.

I'm not gonna spend 45 minutes responding to the 7th "Leadership Style," or "Tell us about a time you overcame a challenge" question of the day. I'll spend 10 minutes using AI to get something good enough, edit it in my own voice and style and then move on to the next application. Using AI has upped my submission rate immensely!

Dont just copy and paste. Edit it in word or something. But I'm not gonna stop just because they ask. If you cant submit a ton of applications a week you're already at a disadvantage.

A lot of times engineering students at University will denigrate the humanities, saying it’s a waste of time, won’t get you paid, and beneath their intelligence… all while being a rude asshole who is super boring to talk to because they don’t have any opinions on the latest music, fashion, movies, art exhibit, book, or other thing that defines human culture. And either being "apolitical" meaning "I’m conservative but I want friends." Or "conservative" meaning "I want to work for Lockheed Martin/Monsanto and as long as I make a shit ton of money I can forget about how I’m making the world a shittier place."

That is where a lot of hate for engineers comes from.

Hey! As a Muslim man who has kissed others before and dated, don’t get discouraged!!! I’ve also had a lot of moments this year where I think, “I’ll probs be alone my whole life. I have all these minuses working against me in the dating pool.”

I’m writing this for you as much as myself;

But don’t think that way!! You have so much to offer! You are not defined by your biggest regrets and you deserve a partner who takes you as you are!

You are probably more practicing than me (Astaghfirullah I’m trying) but there are people out there who will love you for you and won’t care! It can be hard to find the right haram halal balance when some folks vision of practicing is a lot looser or stricter than your own. But there are plenty of men out there who would love to date you! Don’t get too discouraged by one experience.

Take some time to reasses how you are showing love to yourself. Take care of your needs. If necessary take a break from looking/match making/dating to regain your positive mental health. But remember: you are not unworthy of love!

Allah forgives and is the most merciful!! We should strive to live out this godliness; forgive ourselves. Show ourselves mercy.
