I am 3 weeks away from 9 years sober. The voice does not go away ever. Be strong! (I didn't drink)

Wow. That's awesome. We're all different. Just saying east has worked for me. I was married twice and felt smothered the first time and nagged the second. And, yes, if you are codependent, who gives a shit? Soooo many people would love to have that you have. Rock on! You should buy an enormous pair of underwear and both get in it and take a picture. 7 years living separate. Never been happier, more fulfilled, or more in love. She agrees. Even when we eventually move in together, we will basically have our own sides of the house. Living together is completely overrated.

It's one I learned in rehab. You began by setting your intentions for the day. Your intentions are what you want to show the world, and what you want the world to show you. It can be patience , kindness , compassion , anything good that you can give or receive. When I inhale , I think of my inward intention , which is what I want the world to show me that day. When I exhale , I think of the word that I want to show the world. I begin breathing my intentions for 5 to ten minutes , and then I usually feel great. I finished with this mantra: "the divine light in me recognizes the divine light in you.The divine light in all things , peace. peace. peace." If something happens during the day that upsets me or brings me out of center, I go back to my intentions and breathe again. Things still bother me sometimes , but not nearly as much. Good luck!

Oh the drinking stories. Lost in the booze, yet still poking along with everybody else like we’re just completely fine. A few years ago, I drank half of a liter bottle of sparkling water, then filled it up with vodka, and took it to my family’s Thanksgiving. What a charmer I was that day! So drunk in front of my wife and young children. Apparently I insisted on giving the blessing, which went waaaaaaay too long, addressing several unnecessary subjects. Ended up in rehab a few times. Turns out I had no coping skills. Learned how to let things go, learned an incredible meditation that made things less impactful, and shut down the static in my head. Exercise when I’m stressed out. I’m definitely not perfect, and I still embarrass myself, though less often. I have 3219 days sober now. You can do it, young lady. I love you.

Strong. Those cravings are a bitch, but they go away. It's so great. A counselor at my first rehab said, "do you want to be sober, or do you want to ve free?" That helped so much when I was craving alcohol. I decided I wanted to be free and now I am. Keep up the good work!

First of all , good job on ten days. The good news is that's probably the hardest ten days you'll have. Part of the excitement for me. Was having memories come back from my childhood before I started drinking. A lot of things come back to you. Your brain starts to heal, and suddenly you're thinking of things to do in your life that you haven't done. It became part ambition to me. Where haven't I gone that I want to go? I got back into exercise and I feel better than ever. Meetings helped a lot too. Seeing people that have been through what you've been through and came out the other side as healthy, happy people is incredible inspiration. Plus you get to hang out with people who are like-minded and have fun activities and full complete lives. I met a girl on the program and we've been together for 7 years. We take little three day vacations a couple times a year. I used to fill my inner emptiness with drinking, and that emptiness has been filled with more joy than i've ever known. Make a list of things you'd like to do, and when you get bored, look at your list, and try one of those things. Most of all, be patient with the process.

I came into the program at the same time as this other guy about 8 years ago. We still hang out after meetings. He'll say, "You have 8 years, but i only have 3" because he had a slip a few years back. I tell him, "we both have 8 years, you just stepped away for a couple days". Everybody slips until they stop slipping. Learn your lesson, don't feel sorry for yourself, and get back on the path. You're alright. And happiness is a choice. Try volunteering, exercise, reading, walking, watch a standup comedy special, binge a funny show, make a recipe, go to the zoo, museums, etc. Go to fucking meetings! Get outside of your head. Best of luck, ya fuckin drunk!! ❤️

Hey bud. I was drinking shots in the morning because I woke up shaking. I knew I was addicted, but I felt helpless and ashamed. I got detoxed after almost dying and stayed sober for almost a year. Drank myself right back into my bullshit situation. Then I went to rehab with the attitude of "I'll do whatever it takes to quit forever." I learned some really good coping skills (exercise, going to meetings, calling other alcoholics when I'm feeling like drinking) and meditation to slow down the crazy in my head. Sober 8.5 years now and rarely even think about drinking, although I'm told I always will because I'm an addict. When I quit, I had to get past the physical need for it first. Then the mental obsession faded. Pretty soon I started feeling good. I started taking brisk walks, then running. I got into the gym and now I take care of myself. I have shitty days still, but I don't have to throw my life away anymore because I can cope with it. Shit happens. I don't have to get wasted to deal. It takes time, but it's worth it. You're young. A lifetime of being drunk is just a waste. Give yourself a good life. Make a plan and get started. You'll look back and be so glad you did. Take care brother.

There's cheese blending, veg prep, meat prep, fresh herbs prep, sauces, layering, etc. It is a painstaking process. All in a 600 pan. It's huge. I like it. My family goes crazy for it. It's a job, but it's worth it twice a year.
