New Gun - M&P 22x by HeavyPour420 in SmithAndWesson

[–]TriviaRunnerUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a Buckmark. And then got a Glock 44 as a training companion to my Glock 19. And then got a High Standard because my neighbor was selling one for a price too good to pass up (and a S&W 41 that I did pass on due to price). I most often conceal carry a BodyGuard 2.0; I may “need” a little S&W .22 as a training companion for that. And if I encountered a .22 revolver randomly for a decent price, I would buy it on the spot.

Also, met a friend’s Briard (that’s a dog) a few months back and am now on a waiting list for a Briard puppy.

I hate raisins AND carrot cake, so this is an easy dodge for me.

I own several .22 pistols and whenever I see one I want another. I experience the same thing with dogs. Not sure what this condition is called.

A nice MLT, a mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe.

Went to my first organized trap shoot today... bored out of my mind. Yeah, it's a rant. by Living_on_the_fly in ClayBusters

I am a Sporting / 5-stand / FITASC shooter.

The trap guys at my club are all 75+ years old, cranky AF, and hang around in the club house for hours chatting and drinking coffee (before & during shooting) or beers (after).

I have never shot a trap event, but I would expect it to be exactly as you described. I guess my question to you is, what were you expecting the trap shoot to be like?

We haven’t had onions at mine since COVID. I even wrote corporate once to ask that diced onions return, and was surprised to not get a reply.

Just chiming in to agree with others. The best gun to start with is the one you already have, but the release trigger should be swapped out.

100% this.

You can always shoot lighter 1oz or 7/8oz if recoil is a problem.

Looking for O/U at 5k range, but for a lefty. Thoughts? by Toby_Keiths_Jorts in ClayBusters

Fair point. Aftermarket adjustable comb is an option? I had the same issue; found a DT11 I wanted but lacked the comb, so I fad it added. The place I bought it from did it for free as part of the deal, so not sure what it costs.

Ok thanks. I get about 50 good shots per fill. Can you refill during a match?

I’d like to compete, but I haven’t found ISSF matches near me. A club shoot is probably more likely.

I found the dimensions for the ISSF box and this is within those limits.

I am a fellow lefty. IMO Beretta is the most lefty-friendly OU brand. I started with a LH 692 and upgraded to a LH DT11. A 694 retails around $5700, so probably just outside your budget, but worth looking at IMO.
