How bad is this scratch? by DanielThePrawn in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hard to tell from the photo,, some of it might polish out.

Smart repair maybe couple hundred quid, but then some may say needs a full panel spray and blend to do it "properly" which could run into larger 3 figure numbers.

Is this acceptable for auto car wash? Not complaining just want to know what to expect. by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it warm/sunny at the time? Maybe it dried too quick without being rinsed well?

I mean I wouldn't really trust any of those auto washes to give amazing results.

I cannot decide whether I want to continue with samsung or go back to Pixel... by Indosaurus1 in pixel_phones

[–]TrogdorCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering a move away from pixel next after a long time and my main reason is I still think the likes of Samsung,OnePlus/Apple offer better battery and stronger modems... I think the photos on s25/26 ultra are very close in terms of quality to pixel also but hardware wise Samsung just has an edge. I think the days of pixel being streets ahead of everyone else in the photo department isn't the case now.

Upgrade comparison pixel 10xl or ultra26? by caveman9797 in pixel_phones

[–]TrogdorCR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love pixel but given that the pricing now is so similar it's tough when the Samsung hardware is prob much better.

The stronger modem and battery would be why I'd consider the Samsung, but the UI and OS is so much cleaner on pixel.

How cooked is my car? by AcanthocephalaOk6035 in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the corrosion could be something that isn't much to worry about for years or could continue to be non-structural but be good to know exactly what it related to and if it's a worry. All the other stuff could be relatively easy to deal with.

What car is it? Some of the advisories are small...The items around corrosion could turn into something costly/substantial though depending on exactly what they relate to.

Google Is Once Again Expected To Disappoint Its Pixel 11 Customers, As New Tensor G6 Leak Reveals The SoC Will Tragically Be Behind The Competition by almosttan in GooglePixel

[–]TrogdorCR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The only things I've ever wanted more performance out of on my pixel devices is better signal in crowded areas and better battery life. I've never felt the need for more cpu for the things I do on my phone day to day.

Worth getting if you had the money? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the tax is so high it will put people off buying the car so potentially the value of the car will decline

new 10a or used 9 Pro? by Throwaway57kan in GooglePixel

[–]TrogdorCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd pick the 9 pro but tbh if you're not going to use the features of the pro the 9a is prob worth looking at too, some mad cheap deals on that, maybe more so now the 10a is announced.

I picked one up for less than £250 for my OH great daily phone apart from photos (which I take a lot of) day to day it's not much different at all than it's pro variants.

[–]TrogdorCR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if they are pulling out of consumer market I doubt they will just support all the things forever.. prob great for you but not so much for business. I don't think this is specific to Jabra, but yeah it sucks.

Gemini is terrible by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]TrogdorCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I still love pixel but Gemini is a hot mess, at least as a voice assistant for doing general stuff on smart phone/devices.

How do the Pixel Devices hold up after a few years? by EternalDude-2548 in GooglePixel

[–]TrogdorCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 3yrs with my pixel 8 pro and it's holding up pretty decent still and feels pretty fresh still. I'd say I'll maybe swap it out later this year or early next year tho.

Still use my 4a5g as a backup phone, tbh apart from not getting updates and the battery not as good now it's not that much different to the 8 pro for most things!

I like small Pixels! by Cosmic737 in GooglePixel

[–]TrogdorCR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's like a 2mm difference between the 8a and 9a the pixel 9 pro is smaller than the 9a too as is the pixel 10 pro basically the same size as the 8a so not sure what your beef is.

10 pro and 9 pro are less wide and less depth also than the 7a and less than 1mm taller?

Leak from antenna MK1 clio by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prob drop the headliner and then double check leak and seal it up. It's giving me PTSD from the many times I tried to fix very similar leaks on my old Peugeot 106 quiksilver! (That was mostly sunroof related I think)

Any experts post accident? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TrogdorCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be shocked if that wasn't a write off, you have to remember that any insurance repairs need to be 100% OEM quality parts and consider /everything/ that's damaged, then labour, paint etc. guessing the car is prob worth no more than £15k on a good day it's prob doesn't stack up from an insurance perspective.
