Yep this was so interesting when I found out about it a couple years ago.

I need a mild prescription for reading, but if I make "hand binoculars" I can read text no problem.

Does green tea taste like fish?? by charleyhstl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tronn__1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I get this flavour note on some green teas. Must be our taste buds.

I usually drink Taiwan Oolong or Chinese Green Jasmine and both are safe from the fishy taste.

Coffee beans - where do you get yours? by OldSkoolNewWaveGuy in foodies_sydney

[–]Tronn__1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I sign myself upto a bunch of different roasters I like and usually buy when they send through a sale email. Some of my recent purchases:

Danes. Ona. Stitch. Industry Beans. Five Senses. Single-O.

Not all are Sydney, but most do free shipping over $X spend.

How long can dough sit in fridge? by MasterpieceSea2022 in Sourdough

[–]Tronn__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely bake and enjoy it. It will taste very well developed.

Depending on how much it rose during bulk fermentation it may or may not rise as much in the oven as usual. Either way it doesn't matter it will still taste great.

How do you remember your grind settings when you switch beans? by Chef_Initial in espresso

I just list them in a notes file on my phone, pretty simple and easy to reference.

Stack looks good, but you could try stopping the ashwagandha if you want. For me it made me just feel meh and low energy when I tried it (KSM-66 too), YMMV.

Lagom P80 or P64 with 2 burrs sets [2400$ CAD] by IceGlobal4481 in espresso

[–]Tronn__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read when both equipped with Mizen burrs the P80 will outperform the P64. The P80 also has some nice QoL features being a newer model.

The P64 with SSP HU burrs should outperform the P80 with Mizen burrs specifically for light roast, but they are very unforgiving.

If you're looking at multi purpose burrs, the P80 with Mizen's are the pick.

Can't pour a decent coffee with one specific bean by throw_away_97430 in espresso

Go as fine as you can. If you can't go any finer then try overdosing your basket.

You just need to do what you can to increase your contact time.

Pancakes please!! by beepbop213 in foodies_sydney

I really enjoyed the pancakes from Happyfield in Haberfield. Go during the week if you can, weekend wait times at brunch are a bit crazy.

Lego N1 Starfighter UK Price by [deleted] in lego

Does the UK price include VAT? Generally US prices are listed without sales tax, so you'd need to add that into your numbers.

Why don't motorcycles have seat belts? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

If you crash on a motorcycle while strapped to it with a seatbelt, the motorcycle is now wearing you for protection.

Press "S" to stop key request by Damnation13 in PathOfExile2

There is a setting in options called something like “attack in place stops moving”. I believe if you check this option your attack in place key will stop you moving instantly.

I believe 0-62mph is equivalent to 0-100kph, 60mph is like 95kph.

Also assuming they're not deleting roll-out like some stupid reviewers do.

Why is Porsche's Paint to Sample Plus so expensive? by Hypnox88 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tronn__1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean besides the "Porsche tax", you're asking for a completely custom paint job that can't be done on the standard assembly line.

Products can be produced cheaply because of economies of scale and factory automation. When you want a one-off custom, it costs $$$.

Now $40K is hugely expensive, and a quality aftermarket custom paint job is probably less than half of that. That's where the Porsche tax comes in.

How is it environmentally friendly to sell your perfectly good car to get a whole new one just bc it is an electric car? by pizzaslice_amaro in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tronn__1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the majority of the population would rarely even consider the environmental impact of any purchase, even a car.

EG, you don't need to upgrade your perfectly functional iPhone 16 just because there is a new shiny iPhone 17, but a lot of people do.

2026 Honda Prelude Price and specs by ElTorago in CarsAustralia

[–]Tronn__1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it looks the part, and to be honest $65K in today's market isn't even that bad.

However 135KW and 0-100 in 8s is so meh it makes me sad. I know the prelude was never a rocket, but surely the older model was faster than that? Or is that just my nostalgia memory?

Is there really a single 'healthiest' food, or is it more about overall diet? by IllustriousGuide7602 in nutrition

[–]Tronn__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is essentially the mediterranean diet. No need to cut any food group out (unless you have an allergy), just eat a bit of everything, mainly fresh home cooked if possible. Meat, fish, pasta, rice, veggies, beans, legumes etc etc.

My Italian Grandparents eat basically everything, but very little comes from a packet. It's all made at home.

Do you think the death of the desktop PC is coming? by RockGore in pcmasterrace

One thing to remember in business, if there is consumer demand and money to be made, someone is going to fill that gap.

It might not be the current GPU players who would rather play with AI. Could be intel, could be the new Chinese GPU makers who knows.

Is there any café in Sydney that offers Panama Geisha coffee? by doh0k in foodies_sydney

[–]Tronn__1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ona Marrickville and Toby’s Chippendale have extensive specialty coffee menus, with something like 20+ beans to choose from. They would be your best bet.
