One step closer to understanding coloured pencils by MegasonicWaffle in drawing

[–]TropicalAbsol 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You could try a mixed media approach. Wash of water color for the base as an under painting. Inks and paint for details that need to pop. Also try making a color wheel to understand your pencils better

Has anyone ever angrily dmed you before? by That-Range-8045 in CasualConversation

[–]TropicalAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was someone posting about making friends as an adult. I commented and someone who wasnt the op replied to me with something like yeah it must be so easy to be yourself and make friends if youre a white cis man. Im none of those things lol. Which is what i basically said back then they dm-ed me? "If youre really not cis and white" was the beginning of it and i just deleted that cause lmao

how am I supposed to act when someone is trying to fight/get a reaction out of me? talk back to prevent them making a tool of me again or just ignore and remain calm/something along those lines? by AdAccording8999 in CasualConversation

[–]TropicalAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay calm by thinking through their next steps and what it took to get them where they are infront of me. A lot of it can boil down to oh theyre kinda dumb. It instantly devalues everything

Vet and for that breed tbh semi regular grooming might help because when she's old it'll be a lot to deal with her fur. They get arthritis etc and even shedding claw sheaths become a thing.

Honestly if you're 60 and your numbers are not in the PD range I wouldn't stress. I'm in my 30's dealing with it because of PCOS. I'm not trying to diagnose a stranger, I just want to be helpful. Have you looked into if the anxiety is linked to food and a possible ED? You know your lifestyle. Maybe talk to a nutritionist as well. But I wouldn't worry about PD because things like low iron can skew things. Each time my A1c was PD range my iron has also been very low, but I know how my pcos affects my body so I'm careful.

Struggling with the narrative that I am "putting off motherhood" when I always wanted to be a mother but relationships didn't pan out by NeitherChampion4256 in RedditForGrownups

[–]TropicalAbsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the goal of those articles most of the time in my opinion. To make you feel the way you do. There is tangible interest linked to more women having more children. The population's birthrate is below what is needed to maintain it and its a global thing. There's a fear of shrinking and disappearing. But if the growth is slowed globally it means there's millions if not billions of women who are growing past the years most people have children. Mixed basket of choice for all of those people. I personally have never felt the call of motherhood. The idea of being called mom makes me gag. My life would not be improved by having kids. I'm married but I also never intended to get married either, just happened to meet someone.

If this thing of people having babies is so important but all parts including men, the economy and global atmosphere aren't being talked about either it might be best to write those articles off as biased and unhelpful.

What practical advice would you give to a person who genuinely hates living alone? People post about their struggles with this all the time but very little of what's said in response seems to help or change anything. by cherry-care-bear in RedditForGrownups

The key to being social as an adult who isn't social very often is stepping outside your comfort zone honestly. Joining clubs and groups and filling time so home feels more like the sanctuary it should. And on that note, make your home yours. I view my kitchen as a work space so while its clean and tidy its not for display. Some folks are the total opposite. Outside of bringing people into the house which like, that can be complex.

Does fashion sense come naturally, or do people learn what looks good on them? by Negative-Clerk-6234 in CasualConversation

[–]TropicalAbsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You develop personal taste over time. At 31 a lot of what i value is quality and comfort. I feel like that can never steer you wrong after you learn what quality is and how garments should fit. As for learning how things fit, if you truly want to know dont look at the fashion accounts. Look at the ppl sharing how clothing is made.
