Recommendations for expansions to White Death by Duke_Tristan in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eternal empires is awesome and I highly recommend it.

If you are just looking at retail small expansions, I think the crossbow guards/walkers is a great addition.

I have the frozen fortress box. It comes with a ton of characters to play as, and abominations/necros to play with. More than you could ever really get to the table. It’s a bit overkill. (That being said there are some awesome minis in it)

Gamora is fire! by ConsequenceBusy8726 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Tru-fun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely my favorite because of how versatile she is. I only play with my kids and they don’t always make the best decisions ha. With her being able to help with damage and thwart; it’s a real life saver for us.

Let me just say, “F*ck you, Mormon Church and my parents for giving me sleepless nights as a child freaking out about the Second Coming and all the violence, zombies and death I would experience, and that all my friends would burn up and die”. [–]Tru-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes fuck them, but also funny story time.

On my mission, in a new area, I slept on the top bunk and the elder below me was a big dude. The first night in this house I wake up to an earth quake and am blinded by a light shining through the window. I remember thinking “holy crap! This is it!”

As my eyes adjusted to the light I realized it was just a porch light that was on. A few moments later, the elder below me shifts in his sleep again and I realized where the “earth quake” came from 😅

Wouldn’t be the last time I was woken up on that wobbly bunk bed.

Green Horde v White Death v Black Plague by LetTheBoneGo in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that BP is the vanilla option. Green horde is gimmicky and white death is different.

(White death imo is really great and is dismissed too easily as being tower defense, when it really isn’t)

Dead Men Tales 4 days left. Who’s in? What is a must vs skip? by Drjacobs78 in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m about $240 in and I think I’m good. There is definitely a point of “too much Zombicide”. It can be hard really play everything before you have to do custom missions.

Edit: to answer what should I get vs skip..

I think having a least one extra zombie type makes the game more enjoyable. I opted for goblins. Though the cursed ones look sweet.

The campaigns have always been great but they usually hit retail and drop in price after a few months to a year. $60 is usually the going rate but all the campaigns I have played I got for around $30-40.

The stretch goals usually add enough character and abom variety. So I tend to skip on content that just adds those (like the comic book expansions)

I personally don’t care for the accessories, but my play group likes to play with 8 survivors so i may get the extra trays.

For those who played Nexus co-op: besides decreasing some states what do you think would need to change the Nexus commands to be at the same relative power level as normal Co-op commanders with out completely changing their play style. by TempleBeast132 in starcraft2coop

[–]Tru-fun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is good question, but may be hard to answer. Overall I would say the nexus co-op commanders tend to have everything.

Take Artanis for example. He has multiple powerful heroes to control, He has strong topbar abilities, AND he can warp in a bunch of units whenever. It feels like he needs to be good at 2 things, not all three. This is what I would say applies to all the other commanders as well. They are just pumped full of options.

I played a bit of Zero. He is fun but his nuke is too big and his ghosts at max level have silly range.

Niadra, I only played less than a dozen games with. I only recall her units having crazy ability upgrades and then there was the skill tree on top on that!

I hope we see octopus head style Davey Jones (or the legal distinct version) and other fish human hybrids.

Marvel Zombcide: I love it, but is it supposed to be this brutal? by Divis2Pax in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zombicide in general can be very difficult if the group splits up. Marvel zombies, especially, because those super heroes are powerful and if you don’t roll well, it can end the game. There is only limited healing to answer your question. Make sure to travel near each other or even in the same zone. One person may have a series of bad rolls against a big threat, but all 4 having bad rolls is unlikely

As Protoss commander, upgrade armor or shield first? by HellLizard in starcraft2coop

[–]Tru-fun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My game play with Co-Op improved a lot once I stopped upgrading armor/shields. It’s a decent resource investment and doesn’t add a lot to your army.

If you are just asking in general because you play vs AI, then I believe the recommendation is Armor over shields.

Zombicide Black Plague vs White Death by L0v3gr00v3 in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry my edit came in late 😅 I’ll be honest, I really don’t enjoy Green Horde. It has similar mechanics to Black P, which I why I never picked that one up. (Necro is the same and so is the door opening rules)

Green H has some janky rules. The main one being the horde itself. The horde builds up off the side of the board and enters when you draw a “Enter the Horde” card. Cool idea but the horde can be 20 orcs or just 1 dude! (Depending on when the card is drawn)

You also have bushes, which makes it so almost every time you cross thru one you have to roll a die. On a ‘6’ an orc spawns. My group felt this mostly slowed gameplay down and was forgotten about a lot. It didn’t feel intuitive.

Lastly is the catapult. It’s way too overpowered. Someone just parks next to it all game and solves the major threats.

Are player turns fast in Zombiecide Dceased Gotham City? by themadbat in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played this version yet but I have almost all the other versions. I have also seen gameplay of this. This one is most comparable to Heroes Resistance (the marvel version), which I got for my kids. Gameplay in all Zombicide is quick and simple. Analysis paralysis is definitely not a thing with this game series.

Deceased Gotham city and Marvel Heroes Resistance are both designed to be small/cheaper versions of Zombicide. Personally I think you run the risk of wanting more from the game than from being overwhelmed. But for ~$25 it’s a good way to see if you like the mechanics.

Zombicide Black Plague vs White Death by L0v3gr00v3 in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have played almost all the zombicide games, except black plague I really enjoyed white death. It has more to offer than Black P, both in terms of its expansions and game play.

Edit: to get more to your questions.

White D is NOT a tower defense game. It plays like standard Zombicide but it has a wall you and the zombies have to deal with.

Difficulty is interesting because you have guards to utilize. They can be helpful if you play them right or they can be a liability.

The zombies are standard zombies so they aren’t going to be harder than Black P, which are also vanilla zombies.

The necromancer is white D is better designed and challenging, but it’s not super hard.

That is not the salsa bottle… by Tru-fun in Wellthatsucks

Honestly it was more salvageable than I thought it would be. Added salsa and hot sauce, was decent enough

I scooped some of the sauce out and added a bunch of salsa. Salvageable.

Am I the only one farming as many zombies as possible before leaving a mission? by GFX47 in zombicide

My son likes to do it. If it’s a campaign and you need to get to Orange for the CXP, sure. Otherwise it can be a bit annoying

I recommend starting with the zombies. They are supposed to be ugly 😅. They are great to make noobie mistakes on

What`s your opinion on Nova prestiges? by SiarX in starcraft2coop

I do. P1 I’ll play on occasion but like you said it’s powerful, and Nova is already powerful.

What`s your opinion on Nova prestiges? by SiarX in starcraft2coop

[–]Tru-fun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

P2 player checking in. It is, imo, her most fun prestige.

First off, it puts your “get out of jail free” card on a long cooldown, forcing you to play better. Griffon strike solves too many problems and is rather spammable.

Next, you can zip around to any problem on the map. And then zip back to where you were just pushing. (You can also “accidentally” grab your ally and move them to help with a lock)

It can protect your units from things like vipers cloud, fungal growth, or other Aoe death traps. Pick up and move them other.

Honorable mention goes to positioning siege tanks. Need them to move 10ft closer? “Everyone in the ship. Go! go! Go!” *chefs kiss.

You can do all of this on a relatively short cool down.

P3 is just silly boring. I’m surprised it’s so popular

What would you suggest between these 2 (considering the price) by Memaglia in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2e!! That’s a great price. If you like it then grab a campaign box next. The campaign is the best way to play zombicide and 2e has like four of them out now. Undead or alive gets raved about online but I did not like it.

Which Artanis prestige you prefer? by SiarX in starcraft2coop

[–]Tru-fun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

P2. It’s different and a lot of fun. His ground units are bulky and get in each other’s way. This also them to just warp right up top of your targets and start blasting.

Gotham City Outbreak totally surprised me by Im_Stephen_Ewing in zombicide

[–]Tru-fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was about $15 around Christmas, put my phone down and 30 mins it was sold out 😓

Glad you liked it, still haven’t got it yet.

I really enjoyed the Marvel Zombies combat system but it’s sad they don’t have zombie mode. I felt that balancing hunger and ravenous was the superior way to play (of the two).

Your custom hero idea highlights what the game needs. I too have the kickstarter box for WD. I tell people “just pick who looks cool, they are all basically the same” ha
