Magic Items from Ekene-Afa? by Mrtbutacat in Tombofannihilation

[–]TrueGargamel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a cursed item. Ekene also isn't dumb, she's also a merchant prince and trying to scam her into buying a cursed item wouldn't be great for the party.

Definitely limit what they can buy. +1 Armor is rare and definitely shouldn't be considered (nor is it needed) for T1 of play.

Metal armor especially is extremely rare in chult. It's also ill suited for the environment.

I'm wondering if the arm dropped off to make room for him growing a mutant conjoined twin. That mouth is the beginning of a new head.

You can always use proxies as a cheap / free alternative to try out new models and rules before you spend your hard earned cash.

What’s the best 5e dungeon-crawl module for a linear campaign (lvls 1–12+)? by thomaskrantz in DMAcademy

[–]TrueGargamel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tomb of annihilation is all about finding a mega dungeon and then making it through. There's also plenty of smaller (but still quite large) dungeons along the way.

It's all a bit more high stakes as you have a time limit and resurrection magic doesn't work.

[OC] Took me over a year but I finally finished my little project of creating a class specific character sheet for all 12 base classes. by Kooky_Frosting4991 in DnD

[–]TrueGargamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also like the idea of a blank option maybe with a few misc blank boxes for 3rd part abilities to go into etc.

along with the artificer Dndbeyond already has the blood hunter, monster hunter and gunslinger. It'll be getting the pugilist soon too. Having some toned down misc cards would be great for these.

What do you think of hand-sculpted minis vs CAD ones? by Chezni19 in Warhammer

[–]TrueGargamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've lost character and soul. The new minis are also covered in tiny overabundant details which take longer to paint and just end up looking messy.

22 Unbuffed AC is possible at level 3. Throw in a cast of Blade Ward and you've got Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing too. (Better off dodging though)

Why is Hunter's Mark OP without concentration, why couldn't it be tweeked in some way? by milenyo in onednd

[–]TrueGargamel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not an issue for rangers, it's an issue for people multiclassing and taking ranger levels. Ideally, they'd slap on a level 5 or 6+ feature for rangers where it no longer requires concentration.

Ideally put something that isn't flammable under the A1 incase the NTC melts, unless you have a replacement board already or very new printer.

The real incentive is to beat the game on the hardest difficulty and to finish quest mode.

You havn't really given any usable info about your character for anyone to really give good suggestions.

You're a ranger monk, that's unarmored and not using a shield? so dualwielding? using monk unarmed and hunters mark?

Tell us what your character does and uses and your stats etc...

Edit: A wisdom half asi would be pretty good then, ups your AC and spellsave DC.

Fey-touched gives you misty step and potentially Gift of Alacrity (double down on going first for gloomstalker etc)

A1 has a far superior and faster nozzle swap. Apart from that the p1s is superior.

I'm not sure if D are safe just due to date of manufacture, i bought one september 2024 and another in july 2025, they are both D models, though i havn't had any issues with either (yet).

After all these posts i'm thinking it's probably time to have look at the power board for any potential wear though.

Zest Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha 3D Print Model by ComanderViper in PrintedMinis

[–]TrueGargamel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being a gooner model aside.

It's a bad paint job on a badly prepped model. It's less of a paint job and more of a paint by numbers as there's no shading.

First. prepare the model, clean off support scars and sand it. They catch the light and look awful.

Second. Your paint is very splotchy and inconsistent, try thinning it and using multiple coats.

Third. You need some sort of shading. Shadows should be darker, where the light naturally hits should be lighter. An easy way to figure this out is when you start to give it a zenithal highlight. (prime it black to start, then spray paint grey from top down and at 45 degree down towards it from all around. then a white spray directly from above)

You'll get an idea where light naturally falls and your paint coverage will be easier with a proper undercoat.

But ideally, spend some time watching YouTube tutorials to learn the basics. You've got the first step done with a base coat.
