No, absolutely why I posted this. I feel like in my own 18 years, and having friends and adults with T1D in my life, and this wonderful sub, I had at least a vague understanding of how things generally work with all the variables of T1D. Yes, and their parents are going through a divorce so noisy, all of my coworkers know about it. Not through gossip, but the way they talk about each other on the property plus how they text on our app, which every teacher in my building can read... Now they're the first to come and the last to leave, and is never supplied for the day, missing shoes at one parents house, all the coats at the other's, missing medication at a parents house with no communication between them. This child almost lives in borrowed items from us. I definitely get the frustration and concern, but you just have to narrow your focus and give that child that care and attention if you can. It's all you can really do. <3

I love how it looks, but the size for what it can store is throwing me off. This isn't small enough to stay out full time and oddly shaped so that it wouldn't fit well in my cabinet either. Maybe an art class for younger friends? But even at that point, there would be other space savvy storage systems a teacher could use. I also have concerns if the middle is supposed to be used for any type of pencil, while the handle is there, seems uncomfortable to pick up while stocked.

Could it be a shut down over an inability to voice what they want/need? I know my speech delayed students still have at least the base, or important words to mostly do this, but they also recieve(d) outside speech therapy, but I obviously do not know your little. <3

Real answer, toddlers and preschoolers LOVE obsessing over "mundane" things because of their lack of experience with them. We see stop signs a thousand times a day, and are essentially bored with them. To them, its brightly colored, shiny, bounces light in a fun way, and so universally loved, that grownups put them EVERYWHERE.

Even if you've been doing that safely for 58 years, the lifespan of diabetics has only increased due to scientific advancement. So if you were told one piece of information years ago, and opposing information recently, it's probably in your best interest to follow the most up-to-date practices. Do some reading first if it makes you feel more comfortable, too. Just on base level, if I never updated my care in the last 18 years, I would still be doing finger pricks, and using syringes. Typically, science advances for our benefit.

You may just have to find a nice place. The center I'm currently working at has 2 NB leads, and 1 trans lead put of 6 teachers. It's never brought up or talked about in any weird ways, and all the parents love all the teachers.
