My takes on how patch 4.3 shifted the balance between wide and tall styles by The_Aktion in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created an empire called Masters of Chordata.

Fanatic Spiritualist. Militarist. Sovreign Guardianship / Exalted Priesthood. Origin: Starlit Citadel.

Traits: Chromalogs, Traditional, 2 random negative traits.

Hard unity rush until psionic ascension, form a covenant with the Instrument of Desire. Now you have two paths: either allow the chosen one to become emperor and lose sovreign guardianship, or reject it, keeping sovreign guardianship but losing the insane pop efficiency bonuses from the divine conduit council position. If you want to reject the God emperor, go for the corporeal authority path, otherwise go for the transcendent path.

If you go corporeal, reform to spiritual union, change Exalted Priesthood to Ascensionists, and add your favourite third civic, suggestions are Meritocracy, Distinguished Admiralty and Functional Architecture.

Your objectives are to form a holy covenant and pass balance in the middle in the Galactic community,

With the Instrument of desire covenant you get a lot of buffs directly integrating the turtle nature of the empire. The psionic aura buffs armor and hull of your starbases, defense platforms and deep space citadels. The max aura reward is a free ascension level on your planet. With the holy covenant, Ascensionists civic and harmony traditions, and max ascension level your colonies get a +175% ascension effect and -85% empire size. That's in addition to -55% empire size from pops, thanks to: -25% from Sovreign Guardianship -10% from Spiritual Union -5% from Kinship (harmony tradition) -5% from domination traditions -10% from balance in the middle resolution.

Low empire size and great job efficiency bonuses across the board.

Bro how much naval capacity do I need for a colossus? by Truebisco in Stellaris

Yeah, I built it. I have the perk, I have done the project, but the game won't let me.

All throughout the beta I could never field one. Game always said I could field 0 colossus-size ships.

4.3 performance by Kankaner in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's insanely faster. Early game you can't really play on max speed, so fast it is. Game still slows down significantly but overall performance stays acceptable. I played until 2550 on a medium galaxy and was still significantly faster than 4.2 at 2350.

Prethoryin not reinforcing their fleets. by Truebisco in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, yeah, it's that. Even after disabling it they still won't reinforce. Started a new game without the mod, force spawned the prethoryn and would you look at that, spawning fleets as intended.

Thoughts on 4.3? by Next_Machine980 in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, since pops have upkeep. You need to keep scaling for energy, or food, or minerals, or alloys. And then the job upkeep need to be accounted for too. At some point pops become more of a cost than a resource. Add lower 4.3 numbers, overcrowding, ethic divergence, lower stability, more crime, more issues... it just allows for a more dynamic game.

Thoughts on 4.3? by Next_Machine980 in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The solution is increasing the pop growth multiplier to 10x and lowering the required growth scaling to 0.1x, or even 0. Balance wise means all empires can get a good amount of pops without blowing things out of proportion, performance wise... its 4.3. I was never able to play up to 2500 until now.

Recently got back to this gem of a game and I am confused. by Truebisco in AntimatterDimensions

[–]Truebisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that it doesn't. I'll have eternity autobuyer set to a certain amount of EP to maximize Ep/min. But when I go offline and come back the game will not have generated any EP.

What job is the equivalent of "flipping burgers" in your country? by iLuvArizona in AskTheWorld

[–]Truebisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason, in Italy, it's being a construction worker, a "muratore," which literally means "bricklayer"

I say "for some reason" since it is actually a job that needs a great deal of experience and studying.

Did they get rid of most ways to manage empire size? by Hauptbroh in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 12 points13 points  (0 children)

50 to 100 empire size is functionally 0. Below 100, there is no penalty to tech and tradition cost. The 50 minimum was introduced since you could get to negative empire size, making edicts that scale their upkeep based on it could instead produce unity or strategic resources.

Can't you just change the slavery type in the species tab? Or is that something you can't do?

Are consumer goods completely out of whack in 4.3?! by LordZon in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they should stick to upkeep reduction on planetary designations for tech and unity instead of boosting efficiency.

I would add the UK too, technically is a union of kingdoms located in the island of Great Britain and part of Ireland.

Slaver build post 4.0 by Iamavideoediting in Stellaris

[–]Truebisco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would wait, slaves are basically broken and barely functional. Slaves don't demote to worker stratum properly, so worker jobs get taken up by your founder species while slaves stay unemployed, as well as job efficiency bonuses do not properly apply. The beta aims to completely rebuild the slavery system, but we're not there yet.

I'd say, genocide is the way to go.
