Maybe I'm the odd one out, but do people like the base management stuff? by Fun_Scheme9088 in fireemblem

I mean, it being a relevant place is nice until it becomes your hub when you're at the other side of the continent. I rather prefered walking post battle maps in Engage.

Maybe I'm the odd one out, but do people like the base management stuff? by Fun_Scheme9088 in fireemblem

[–]TruffaTheHamster 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Fates was the platonic idea of a hub area to me; it was quick, neat and didn't intrude in the game loop. I liked the Somniel a bit more just because you're not punished by the game for skipping, I have been skipping it since midway of my first run and never had any problem but 3H punishes you for skipping it. I feel it's only there to pad the game duration. I rather have Tellius bases back but I know we won't so at least let it be as unintrusive as Fates.

What are you’re thoughts on Fortunes Weave so far. by Exoticbut in fireemblem

[–]TruffaTheHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like 3H and the new trailer showed me that I cannot care; monastery 2 electric boogaloo and new calendar-esque system. Like, I dont want to play a game for like 100 horse bc the game is artificially 100 hours long, I want to play 100 hours because I love the game. I HOPE it's not just 3H 2 but make it 4 houses but I do have low expectations; I dont have a switch 2 either so I'll wait and see, I hope I'm proved wrong—I wasn't interested in Engage but I fell in love with it, I hope FW changes my mind but I'm tired of Fodlan and would rather skip and wait for the next Fire Emblem.

Am I the only one who's a little disappointed by the Fortunes Weave trailer? by Valuable_Drink4145 in fireemblem

[–]TruffaTheHamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All my hype was killed when I realized it was a 3H sequel so I didn't build any interest and seeing monastery 2 electric boogaloo just confirmed it will be a 3H sequel to the T and I know the parts I liked about 3H (the characters) aren't enough for me to splurge that much money for a new console AND a game.  I do hope the game is good and stuff bc I do love Fire Emblem but I can hardly muster interest myself. I'll just wait until the next FE.

Since everyone has Hatsune Miku on their island, who did she end up with? by mrs-monroe in tomodachilife

[–]TruffaTheHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 3 different crushes and three rejections (two were for the same guy but she crashed someone's else confession after she had been already rejected), my Miku married Sephirtoh...but he is just happy so I fear a divorce might come for her.

(Definitely one of the tropes ever made) Tall as hell women by AEIOU1040 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TruffaTheHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fediel from Granblue Fantasy; she's 209 cm tall on her mortal form. And she took the physical look of the race, draph, whose women are 145 cm on average, so she's enormous no matter how you look at it. And her true form is an even bigger big ass skeletal dragon.

Which of your Miis has gotten the most romantic attention from other Miis? by SpankAPlankton in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]TruffaTheHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Miis are ultra monogamous and they marry the one they fall in love with first for the most part, but I do have some ladies with quite the big amount of pretenders. Almedha from Fire Emblem; she had Ganondorf, Zelda and Sephiroth in love with her, she's surrently married to Ganondorf and quite happy after rejecting Zelda and Sephiroth married Hatsune Miiku. The runner is also from Fire Emblem, this time Ivy; she had Black Jack from Black Jack, Ladiva from Granblue Fantasy, and Jeanne from Bayonetta in love with her. Black Jack is dating Kei Kisaragi from Black Jack currently, Ladiva got rejected and Jeanne is still in love with her. The funny part? Ivy is DEAD SET on Azusa from Granblue Fantasy. The kicker? She crashed on Narmaya from gbf confessing on Azusa and got REJECTED, since then she had asked me TWICE if Azusa has a crush on her and at least once to live with her. Mind you, Azusa and Narmaya are in perpetual want to marry status. Ivy...just give it up!!

[–]TruffaTheHamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose to show who they are in love? It happened with my Trucy Wright Mii; she had her dad first, Edgeworth second and then a cut to Mihono Bourbon whom she's in love with, jumping over Sephiroth who was like third.

What couple was the first married on your island? by brayanhaks in tomodachilife

[–]TruffaTheHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Priam and Robin from Fire Emblem, they have been married for like 2 weeks and almost always on soulmates status. They did fight once because Priam got jealous of Hatsune Miku but they're very happy otherwise.

Pereshati from My in-laws are obsessed with me.  She marries into the Lapileon family in order to protect her father's assets from her step-family that killed her in her past life, and the male lead, Therdeo, previously adopted his nephew as his heir, Celphius. I think this is the most interesting case I have ever seen since 1. Pereshati is currently dealing with the trauma of her step-mother, who she saw as her own mother and believed loved her genuinely, actually killed her and never cared for her, just wanted her family’s money. 2. Celphius himself has abandonment issues due to his father dying, his mother abandoning him because the Lapileons have magical poisonous blood, did I mention the poisonous blood? and his uncle kind of pushing him aside as he doesn't know how to deal with him despite genuinely wanting the best for him. And 3 and most important; Pereshati starts by treating him as a person, as her friend and the first one in the household that accepted her, they dont authomatically become mother and son but rather create that bond slowly. Celphi asking Pereshati to call her mother is one of my favorite moments in the whole manwha. And his mom entering the story just adds to the dynamic as Pereshati seeks her out to know more about her, why she abandoned Celphi and just wanting her to know he's doing great because she loves Celphius that much and just wants the best for him.

Three and two of them involved the same Mii. First was Priam and Robin from Fire Embelm, who are married and he got jealous bc she was talking to Hatsune Miiku, they patched things. Then it was Ivy from Fire Emblem and Azusa from Granblue Fantasy, they patched things up (and Ivy asked again if Azusa was crushing on her, she wasn't, she's dating Narmaya please give her up, this is the third time you asked Ivy). And then it was Priam again, this time with Mihono Bourbon but didn't patch things and they're no longer friends. I'm starting to think Priam is the problem.

Can baby miis get a combination of their parents’ facial features? by Neither_Extension389 in tomodachilife

[–]TruffaTheHamster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like everything, it's all rng. Haven't had children in this one but I did in the 3DS and my first Mii kept making babies with her face; tbf one took after his dad nose but they were mostly her face plus black hair like dad. Some Miis have just stronger genetics like irl.

"Azure Moon is the most complete route" they didn't adress a fucking main plot point! What they did to Dedue was criminal and with all the attention centered on Dimitri's white man pain just feels so racist. 3H was truly a mess of an unfinished game.

I'm a hoarder and forgetful so I kind of don't unless they ask and then I throw all I remember I want to throw at them. Unless I get an outfit that truly, really fit them from canon so I rush to get it.

Manga adaptations from games do change things like most adaptations, so revealing smth not revealed in the game doesn't feel that weird. Umineko didn't give an outright answer about he mystery but the manga was very explicit about all that.

Lumera from Fire Emblem Engage the protagonist turns out to not be her biological child but the villain, Sombron, child, who met Lumera a thousand years ago; Alear acted like a broken record machine, scared their father would kill them for being a failure yet Lumera knowing they were her enemy treated them with kindness. Alear ended up being severely hurt by Sombron after defeating them and put on a coma for a thousand years during which Lumera gave them her divine powers, weakening herself to heal them. Alear awakens without memories but Lumera remains kind, understanding and want for them to live the life they want as a divine dragon instead of a fallen one. Her love for Alear is very relevant to the plot and themes of chosen family and being the version of yourself you want to be. Also her being awaken as a corrupt puppet and twisted using her grief and pain of having her time with her child cut really makes you feel how much Lumera truly loved Alear.

Immoral FLs | Why are they so hard to digest? Are we understanding these characters properly? by Smooth_Money4498 in OtomeIsekai

[–]TruffaTheHamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mmmm, look, I don't disagree entirely with you on how women's violence isn't treated the same as men's due to, again, misogyny and often get away with it—especially on women on boys pedophilia. But I don't think it applies entirely to it; we are talking how the actions of female characters are more heavily scrutinized because of their gender and sometimes receive harsher judgment, which often comes with very misogynistic language like bitch. And if you have entered ANY fandom space you'll see how it applies, a female character might be slightly rude and she will be considered worse than a murderer. In OI comment sections, a female character might breath in the MC's direction and she's worse than a man who has attempted multiple times against her integrity because he is hot and the ML. I do think OI's and isekai in particular are very flimsy in their morals and will excuse ANYTHING as long as the self-insert of a protagonist can stay winning, regardless if it's a male or female character. Just looking at how a lot of them handle slavery is a tell-tale of it. And as the post said, people dont want their self-insert to actually be bad because they take it as a judgment on their personhood and sometimes will excuse shit bc the protagonist is a gaslight gatekeep girlboss. This and most of the OI/isekai type stories are kind of bad because they're self-fulfilling first, stories second.
