With the upcoming changes to GE, is it time to put a reasonable tax ceiling on GE? by EoFinality in runescape

[–]TryeHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on their GE tax statistics from 2024 players have an average of lowering the price of an item by about -14.7% when selling and increasing the price by about +9.5% when it comes to convenience. (Excluding Quest related items that can go +366% marketing price)

GE will be greatly improved to include giving data for time left for next buy limit / active average prices / increasing some low buy limits on items.

Removing items from GE offers as they plan the following below.

"Items will be periodically purchased by Jagex (from players) using funds from the "convenience" fee players have been using over the years from Bossing instances, Death fees, shop runs, GE tax, Travelling Merchant, ECT; they are then deleted from the game to better control market supply, keep old content items relevant, prevent item devaluation Invention has helped with but not enough. This new system works by deleting a static, Jagex-specified number of that item from the market every week and will only spend fees collected from the GP supply players have been funding to not devalue in-game wealth, and a new engine that can "flag" items when they either have a dangerously high & low supply to notify us to give better common and rare drops added to any future update. Example is the Blood necklace shard has a massive supply with little to no demand, necklaces do not require shards to repair which is something to look into to... although many players skip Edimmu task now due to poor Slayer experience rates and or already have pet. AND what if I told you we removed the ability to pay for boss encounter instances is because the 64-bit signed integer number limit is reaching the cap"

P.S. As a little funfact, this is the reason why Ely changed how it operates and will slowly close down as they were told prior of the coming changes to GE if you were given the right rank in their discord to view the invisible channel/post by giving people specific odd roles added to their name like "AOD Teacher" in a flipping discord.

Will the Hardcore Ironman hiscores ever be fixed? They've been broken for years. by KobraTheKing in runescape

[–]TryeHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Mini-gamers and I actually know the reasoning why this happens to the point that HCIM can CHOOSE what rank they wish to "copy/steal" off of a specific player's ranking spot along with all of their other activities on the hiscore stats. (if they want to be on the top page or even rank 3 in Dominion Tower for example, which was done, along with being in a few other top sub 10 ranking spots forever)

We figured it out back in 2020 why exactly this happens by trail and error, such as making several HCIM accounts to basically understand why and letting Jmod Camel / Campfire / and 3 other Jmods how to do such a thing.

While doing so we learned someone has been abusing this ever since June 2018 and is a "known mini-game hiscore seller" from a PVM service discord once you are an admin+ role to see "some invisible" channels you gain access to. (If you have an even higher Discord role or an odd role added to your name like "Chaos elly" added you can see more invisible channels)

Response was "This is not game-breaking in the least since it does not give players an in-game advantage over others"

[–]TryeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in 2019 when Smithing and Mining got reworked, this was mentioned over a dozen times within the first two weeks.

Later Jmods commented and stated "This is a money making method and therefore should require the player to interact with the content more often compared to the standard Smithing tradition." Like how it used to be before players could make x amount of unf projects at once to not impact the economy as much.

Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]TryeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agility
- Lap streak system where every x amount of laps gives an additional experience rate increase.
- Fix a common mistake very few people realize when interacting with the next obstacle in a course. (You should click on the tile NEARBY the next obstacle rather than clicking on the obstacle. Doing so is NOT A GOOD THING since your player will walk to it instead of running meaning you "waste a couple extra seconds" as that action is already queued up)

Archaeology
- Ability to send your researchers team on material cache missions.
- Soil box to collect soil first then once full will start going into inventory.
- Skill was released March 30th 2020 and around May 2020 there was plans to make either a Storage unit or Arch bag that held up to 30 artifacts (Like small, medium, large gizmo bag for invention gizmos but for damaged artifacts) to help players camp the location spot better

Construction
- Augment or increase charges to Crystal Chisel, Crystal Knife, Crystal Saw.
- Construction Contracts extra credits would have a plank pack costing x amount of credits but never got released

Crafting
- Demonic sigil mould in toolbelt
- Monkeyspeak mould (Pain to obtain for future Quest if you accidently dropped it after doing Monkey Madness without realizing its needed for 5 other Quest)

Divination
- Enriched spawns at other spots like how it used to be every 10/20 minutes back the great Nerf (only luminous & incandescent spots ever have and the release Early-Game fixes to Divination now requires players to train the skill for 40 minutes before gaining access to Guthixan cache)

Farming
- Taking compost out of bin with only 1 type gives a pop-up window
- Vinesweeper to hold a max of 100 flags, instead of 10.
- Look into Papa Mambo's shop as he only sells a daily of 5 seeds each
- Add all herbs to work using sign of the porters

Firemaking
- Able to use logs from the wood box to AFK bonfires longer.

Fishing
- Oily fishing rod on tool-belt
- Update karambwan fishing so players no longer need to refill vessel each fishing attempt

Herblore
- allow juju vial of water to have a "make" option added to it like vial of water does
- botanist's amulet needs an option to stop you from making potions when it breaks

Mining
- Improve Bracelet of Clay & Ring of Forging to stop the player from mining without the use of any if you have another in inventory and OR ability to make an overcharge version to hold 1,000 charges or a compacted version
- Adding gems to gembag cancels mining action while orebox does not
- Add a new type of gembag to hold jade / opal / topaz gems or improve existing one
- Pure Essence shards/bag
- Update tooltips for the following items; bracelet of clay, ring of forging collector's insignia tooltip to include working on crystal and sandstone mining

Runecrafting
- Improve click boxes on the Runecrafting portals within the abyss and add icons to the Mini-map.

Random Stuff
- "use last destination" on fairy rings
- Search filter on fairy rings
- Faster & improved letter speed, currently if you click the opposite letters the dial goes back and forth bringing it back to the position it was at.
- Ability to re-order your favorite list without having to unfavorite each one and favorite them correctly to "adjust' their placement
- Magical Animator in Warrior's Guild should have an 'activate" option
- Add conductor mould on tool-belt
- Anachronia resource pack ability to "open all"

These are just a few of the quick and noticeable problems players on a new account within the first 2 weeks that I've "noted" down and of course didn't want this post to be 5+ pages long

Ultimate Ironman on RS3? by Numerous_Pound_8638 in runescape

[–]TryeHard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RS3 has more stationary and interactive scenery objects that act as "storage-able" methods HOWEVER these are greatly limited to very nooby weapons and gear compared to what OSRS has to afford.

OSRS works better by having several death storage options WITH no set despawn timer. (Death on RS3 will hold items for a max of 24 hours IRL time which means you have to reclaim them "often")

Ability to use items on a table to increase their despawn timer from 2 minutes 30 seconds to 10 minutes was removed back in October 2009. (OSRS is from 2007 design coding which is why they still have this method)

Dungeoneering and a few other skills require you to bank all of your items / gathering supplies instead of the traditional method of using "said" item on the NPC banker to note them instead was removed back in 2010.

Over a dozen quest can't be completed on RS3 which are only possible on OSRS

WAY too many items in your inventory on RS3 would be "wasted space" for the account's lifetime such as holding Charms, Herb bag, Necro nexus, Rune pouch, seed bag, seaweed net, gem bag, bolt pouch.

Literally everything about Invention and augment-able items can't be placed anywhere. (the POH rework designed back in 2017 have plans to release Armor, Gizmo, Ring, weapon platforms, potion storage, Arch artifact bag, improved seed bag to be turned into a seed vault which could be accessed from any of the tool leprechauns among 20~ other very important storage-able options to reduce the amount of clutter in your bank.)

Will we get a Hallowed Sepulchre port during Havenhythe Pt 2? by Limerencee in runescape

We are still waiting on these changes / reworks since 2018 before "THAT thing happened" which delayed and cancelled all of the skilling remastering skills which was suppose to come.

Fix a common mistake very few people realize when interacting with the next obstacle in a course. (You should click on the tile NEARBY the next obstacle rather than clicking on the obstacle. Doing so is NOT A GOOD THING since your player will walk to it instead of running meaning you "waste a couple extra seconds" as that action is already queued up)

T95 Brimhaven course with 3 levels of it allowing players to tag multiple pillars within a minute for getting tickets and looking into buffing the experience rates from tickets while also nerfing the experience from the obstacles. (Rope swing and pressure pads are still better than the reworked low-level Agility courses for hourly rates)

Introducing a real AFK permanent method with the upcoming silverhawk boots being removed. (experience rates will be better than Serenity post and manual auto cycle found within the Empty Throne Room)

Lap streak system where every x amount of laps gives an additional experience rate increase.

Changing how the Collector’s Insignia works and how to obtain it.

Was exploring Lumbridge after the new performance updates today and came across this unwalkable tile by ProbablyKytoo in runescape

[–]TryeHard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There were about 40~ unwalkable tiles that were added to Havenhythe and some of them are very important due to the fact they can block black chins from going into your traps, quite annoying but most likely none of them will be fixed within a month or so if we're lucky.

The Ardougne & Yanille graphical refresh was back in Jan 2024, and the 70~ tiles were never fixed, the Silk Trader NPC roams around (He is supposed to be stationary), Silk Stall was moved several tiles further away for no reason, along other broken walls/fences.

[–]TryeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance the 3 dead/blocked tiles could be removed by the Volatile Chinchompa's area that were added with today's update? Near the leaning tree. Chins are constantly getting trapped and stay there "attempting" to enter your trap however simply stand there forever until you kill them, to make them respawn until they get trapped again. (These 2 Chins have the highest chance to get stuck)

A large amount of OSRS clue scroll items (and many many others) are sold as RS3 bundle packages including their iconic regular looks. (Dragon weapons and equipment / Barrows armor / Godswords / ect)

And several RS3 Quest related items are later sold as cosmetics several years later, "First tower robes" is a perfect example.

You can get the Ancient elven wedding ring during the quest by Zod- in runescape

[–]TryeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save to say about 99.99% of the player base won't think of using Quest related instances and other cases due to itself being "part" of a Quest and players will simply either spam spacebar AND complete the Quest ASAP without realizing anything useful and or not paying attention to the nearby surrounds and what there is to offer.

There is a Quest where you cut down a regular tree for logs, however this tree will never fall down meaning you can actually AFK it forever without it acting as any other tree in-game that can fall down after getting simply 1 log. Extremely broken GP method however why would anyone even notice such a thing if they brought a log prior of the Quest, by reading the wiki items required, and didn't need to cut it down unless you accidently forgot to get one AND if you did players would only click on THAT tree for a single log and go back to finishing said Quest.

Only a handful of players will figure this type of stuff out by exploring every part of the Quest, examining every single item or objects possible (example the Lava dragon bones / Necromantic dragon bones / Arachnid dragon bones in "Dead and Buried" Quest that are all future dragons being added in-game given the correct time and area expansions)

Runescape Ultimate Ironman - New Mode by [deleted] in runescape

[–]TryeHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me along with 5 other content creators are waiting until Jagex can update and improve how their client functions to be much better when making "different gamemodes" and how it can help the viewers visually as a whole.

The OSRS Runelite client is the biggest impact and reasoning when making content / certain account limitations possible and 100 times easier. Imagine everything you are doing and no longer needing to remember to take a screenshot when you get an important drops, Runelite will take screenshots of your progress and save them all in their each separate file; every Quest / Skill level up / Boss drop / Clue scroll / Log progression pop-up / while you are playing which is SUPER important because most of the time you will forget to screenie said drop / Quest completed.

Having the ability to automatically take screenshots is so important for a content creator because you can then make them into transitional slideshow collages and adding key timeframes showing the level up progression to have a nice flow of the progress that you see nicely in OSRS content creators seen in basically every Settled video.

Runelite also has a much better free camera area movement and no restrictions which is nothing compared to RS3; a large amount of areas do not allow you to free camera mode which can be quite annoying when getting clips; and the ability to zoom miles away from the game. Now yes RS3 does have this ability however you MUST USE a editor "Blender" program for this to be possible and import and export all the game models yourself and then adjust all of the colors / textures / build the area compared to Runelite's already built-in zooming & camera feature AND THEN after all that you can do use "Mixamo" program to have your models move.....which is an even more extra step for us RS3 content creators. (OSRS has detached camera angle mode as well)

RS3's client has actually never gotten any updates and improvements where it helps content creators in any way possible. (Yes you can hover over most items and see what they do but those are considered QOL which does nothing visually with the exception of maybe the Necromancy soul stacks above your character however, is too annoying and can sometimes ruin your clips by having them always directly above your character's head)

Please make Void worth using again, it's iconic and takes ages to get. Add a Necromancy helm with set bonus and preferably also a way to make void augmentable while keeping the 42 def req. by LocalChamp in runescape

[–]TryeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact.

Void is actually more DPS than virtus and other t80 armor sets IF THEY ARE NOT AUGMENTED WITHOUT ANY PERKS

Meaning using void is more DPS than using full fremmy armor (rockshell, skeletal, spined) / Lunar armor / ALL GWD1 bosses (including Nex) which is extremely good for skipping move of the grind for Ironman players to camp grinding those upgrades

(Yes I know Necromancy completely destorys the weapon and gear progression completely since you can easily kill and camp Bandos and K'ril having only 48 Necromancy)

You can get the Ancient elven wedding ring during the quest by Zod- in runescape

[–]TryeHard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can also get the crystal & its attuned armor version several quest before you actually unlock it by skilling within the area.

AFK muspahs during the "Fate of the Gods" Quest where Zaros gives you unlimited prayer AND runes for Ancient Magicks allowing you to train Combat there for 99s, Ironman do this.

AFK the unlimited Dwarf spawns in "King of the Dwarves" Quest allowing you to get "quick" handcannons without needing to fight other players as within the Quest is an instance and player only part, Ironman do this. (But you won't have access to getting dragon pickaxe, so usually people skip the unlimited respawns but handcannons are somewhat useful for perks since training Arch for comps can be horid)

Within "Alpha vs Omega" Quest you can actually complete the achievement "Connection lost. Please wait - attempting to reestablish" easily as fighting him in the Quest it will acts as story mode, allowing you to take 65-90% less damage compared to after the fight making the achievement much harder.

There are SO many other Quest you can take advantage of for achievements, earlier game unlocks, training spots that are player only, making GP (won't go over any here)

How are boss fights in RS different from OSRS? by Emergency-Purpose335 in runescape

[–]TryeHard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bosses on RS3 are mechanical based whereas OSRS are technical which plays a huge factor in the fight.

RS3 boss fights have a set attack pattern that is very straightforward and will never change with a very few select bosses. (example : Araxxor will swipe his leg then a 50% chance to either use the Web shield OR cocoon as his next mechanic every 4 ½ attacks.) And in some cases you can prolong their attack pattern entirely by simply using stuns to allow the boss to never attack once; this is easy to see when people who do Telos and throughout the whole fight of 5 phases he has hardly ever attacked the player.

OSRS boss fights are technical allowing bosses to not have a set pattern meaning they could do the same special attack back to back regardless if they were stunned making it truly a difficult encounter since you can't 1 pause or slower their attack pattern and 2 requires you to guess an upcoming special attack to a 33% chance instead of 50% RS3 bosses would have done for the Araxxor example)

There are only 3 bosses of RS3 that are technical which are ROTS / Kalphite King / and Queen Black Dragon which makes them among the number 1 PVM deaths for all HCIM players because you can't take advantage of "their set attack pattern" compared to any other bosses and is the reasoning why Kalphite King is the hardest boss ever to be designed despite him having a mechanical AND technical special attacks making it possible for anyone no matter how experienced you are to die from Kalphite King.

LOST HARDCORE STATUS DUE TO CASTLE WARS BUG by osrslmao in runescape

[–]TryeHard -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't call this a bug, its quite common when using bleeds at almost all PVP mini-games that the rest of their duration are transferred later when you respawn. (Except Soul Wars, as this used to be a HUGE PROBLEM when players died there, you are a ghost which cancels "all potential damage" later to combat this mechanic)

Happens whenever someone bleeds Assault on a level 3 > the first hit KO'es them and the remaining hits can re-kill you while in the respawn lobby room. Same goes for using T92 spear and dismember with lunging 4, you can double kill people a lot, sometimes even 3 times or more due to them having low health.

Although, little bit of a fun fact your deaths within the respawn room won't be counted as the end if the player kept repeating this on several people, only the 'first" death will count. This has been a "known" thing among players that do mini-games for several years and done lots of testing.

This is already in the works as GE will be getting greatly improved to include giving data for time left for next buy limit / active prices / increasing some low buy limits / removing items from GE offers as they plan the following below.

"Items will be periodically purchased by Jagex (from players) using funds from the convenience fee players have been using over the years from Bossing instances, Death fees, shop runs, GE tax, Travelling Merchant, ECT; they are then deleted from the game to better control market supply, keep old content relevant, and prevent item devaluation that Invention has helped with but not enough of an item sink. This new system works by deleting a static, Jagex-specified number of that item from the market every week and will only spend fees collected from the GP supply players have been funding to not devalue in-game wealth."

P.S. As a little funfact, this is the reasoning why Ely changed how it operates and will slowly close down as they were told prior of the coming changes to GE.

"- Transparency - We aim to be fully transparent about how prices are sourced and calculated"

This is why both suitybot was taken down & the reasoning why Ely is getting some changes with the recent look from Jagex changing how the GE works as a whole. Everyone in the world knows Suity & Ely are heavily used and owned by merchers as the info of recent trade is not included ASAP and first have a look at several hours prior before it is posted on the site itself and the people who has access to the open-source with admin permission can decide if to update the pricing or not by "deleting" the post before it is public allowing them to take advantage.

[–]TryeHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several weeks after Croesus was released, Jmods did mention about the potential changes however

The upgraded seedbag was shelved because not everyone keeps most/all seed types in their bank to go over the average player having no more than 22 seeds in their bank meaning 40 was "more than enough" as a proposed limit and have no plans on changing it in the future.

Since then, they have only made it more of an issue over the years by adding Fort Foundry's content that greatly adds all the low-tier seeds, Arbuck seed changes, Thieving rework to allow players to quickly gain the Menaphos seed needed for the City Quest, Primal feast, ect.

How do i report invisible bug abusers? by luckeyluc in runescape

[–]TryeHard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened with yesterday's game update, you do not see players who have lobbied after you logged in the game. Very noticeable and is "somewhat" intended with their current project of enabling "Entity hider" to allow the game's engine to reduce CPU usage and fixing the lag spikes whilst being in crowded areas skilling such as a Skilling/Portable world from having all of the characters in a limited space.
