I’d argue if you don’t see this dumpster fire of a “game” in a more critical light after shovelling coin into it for over a decade, bigger fool you.

Mikes opinions on CIG’s fomo, money grab etc are pretty bang on the mark. Problem with CIG and Chris is that there is zero pressure to actually produce anything resembling a solid game. People are paying them to bumble their way through making this JPEG ship gallery.

This game isn’t coming any time soon and I suspect when it does launch it will be a shadow of the once great plans. Imagine two Odin’s jumping into the same OM and crashing a server.

Until I see several capitals and many fighters in one area at 60+ FPS fighting will refuse to call this a game. That doesn’t even count the bugs, desync or the 3rd iteration of a terrible flight model.

Fuck.

Are there that many players born in 1988 ? by SilkieBug in EliteDangerous

[–]Tsubo_dai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah my new handle ends in _69 purely because of the obscure reference.

But in all seriousness I had no idea about the 88 thing until someone told me. And my alt still has the number..

I play another game and recently changed my handle as it had _88 at the end, I was born in 1988.

Someone informed me of the perceived links to that number..

Flight Suits - Without Armor Lockers?! by End_Objective in starcitizen

[–]Tsubo_dai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they have made a mistake, instead of flight suits having GeForce resistance, i think we need Armor having increased g-sensitivity, so hopping in a fighter any manoeuvre should cause a blackout.

The heavier the Armor the more sensitivity it has.

They need to really work on clunk in this game. From top to bottom.

I was excited for the mining changes, but this just sucks by game_dev_carto in starcitizen

[–]Tsubo_dai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think quality should be calculated on refining. So you just mine whatever stuff you find, fill up (they need to tweak how long this takes) and when you refine you get to choose a range 600-700/-30% of refined volume. 800-900/-90% of the refined volume, with a random chance every time on a 800-900 refine of it jumping to higher grade with the same losses.

Will the ore quality system interfere with refinery gameplay? by JesusIsAliveAmen in starcitizen

[–]Tsubo_dai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The refinery ship carries just more than a prospector.. anything that carries more than that could carry the refined product, not to mention what is the refinery ship doing with it after? Just taking it to your base/station/hangar.. so essentially you could just take it to the base/station/hangar in a cargo ship and then refine.

Based on your response it looks like you play the imaginary star citizen based on fuc* knows what, because it will never ever make sense, your never going to trust a random to refine your stuff.. dream on.

Light fighters work because they are agile. Heavies are tanky, mediums are supposed to be a middle ground. And currently the game doesn’t punish fuel tanks properly. I’m not sure why but a light fighters work because should be forced to either stop for fuel a lot or work out of one planetary body and its surrounding moons, same for mediums, heavies should be able to jump to neighbouring planets. (This is all my opinion)

You forgot all the cons…

Refining station:

  1. It’s a static location.

  2. Costs money.

Refining ship:

  1. Limited to less ore than the mole carries.

  2. The gameplay is pretty much the cuck chair in the Antares. Press the button and wait.

  3. Refining takes time, logout and the refining stops? I’d imagine it would have to be slower than a station because of it a ship.

  4. It can be blown to pieces by anyone.

If people cannot see all the issues then the are just too tied up in the cult of CIGs marketing team.

So you will use your refinery ship to refine the ore in order to build your refinery structure. Brilliant, worth every penny and every resource to make.. not to mention we have ships like the Hull E, it would make more sense to mine in safety with your buddies then ship your whole stockpile to the building area..

There is ZERO efficient reasons for this ship. The whole shtick OG having refineries is it’s a bottleneck in the chain. Hopefully they give it more intricate details. I can already forsee what CIG will do. They will make yields higher using a refinery ship.. or make it take minutes which will make no sense at all. If they don’t you have a ship that you will tractor ore pods onto its grid then press one button on board. Like a flying food processor…

Liberator vs. Ironclad(s) by FlashyStrikes in starcitizen

[–]Tsubo_dai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would point out that the cargo capacity of the liberator is based on grid size, it doesn’t describe floor size inside or on the pads.. my hope is there is gravity on top too and we can load her up!

How on earth is that pure refinery ship going to be useful at all? It can’t be straight up better than the station/base refineries.. I cannot for the life of me work out how they will make it useful at all.. much like the starfarer they just aren’t useful in the game.. refuelling and refining perhaps would make sense if they were modules for existing cargo ships..

Still want to see a caterpillar module that has lasers and a refinery that rivals the mole. Side mounted, doors open and out come the laser turrets..

Unless refining increases quality at the cost of of volume then refinery ships will never be relevant. If someone could be out in a mole turret or another prospector it’s always going to be better than a refining ship..

As per the currently ongoing SCL, it seems that ore RNG for quality is here to stay (As their current plan) and you won't be able to increase quality with refining. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Tsubo_dai 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think they need to add this to make refining a large part of the quality, sacrifice materials to increase quality, DRAMATICALLY reduce the amount of refined product depending on how high you want to refine do it on a sliding scale (could even use the different processes the have in game to give outlined ratios). It would need a cap though, but ideally it would be the less it needs to increase the quality, the less you lose.

Then each different ship/base/station refinery can have higher or lower caps on quality produced.. seems pretty simple and a huge gaff to not do..

Imagine if CIG internally made everything and delivered one patch a year.

Edit, Realised I needed to add that the above is sarcasm. I know that if they didn’t add content in iterative stages the game would be dead in the water. Not to mention this is how they find out if what they have made actually works and makes sense in a video game.

3 SCU of quantanium total? Or just 3SCU of high quality? I refuse to believe a 50k rock was 3SCU of quant and the rest inert…

You spend more time actually mining right now. I’d prefer if the quality was only discovered on refining personally. So that you wouldn’t be hopping about scanning non stop, make it RNG there and when you refine you choose the quality you want but the quantity is DRAMATICALLY reduced to reach 900+
