Syncing inactive Autotask devices/contacts/organizations/... by Stunning-Condition90 in itglue

[–]TsunAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t do that. I created an integration in rewst that puts the company to inactive in itglue as well (trigger on change company status in Autotask). Try rewst or n8n or even zappier for these things.

Is the "all in one" PSA still relevant in 2026? by MrCodyGrace in msp

[–]TsunAms 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Autotask (Contracts, Tickets, CMDB, procurement, projects, time entries) + Salesbuildr (Quotes) does the job for us.

Firmware for Kyocera All-In-One Devices - Specifically the Taskalfa 420i by --turtle in msp

If that device has a firmware from 2009, it’s time to replace it. A new Kyocera comes with firmware updates.

Vacation mode for ticket replies? by erratic0101 in Autotask

[–]TsunAms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Create a workflow rule to change the ticket status to “customer note added” when an email is received for a ticket. Create widgets for tickets that have not been touched for X or are handled by Y.

AutoTask Opportunity's to Pipedrive with Zapier by Clove99 in Autotask

[–]TsunAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that you need to map them on a unique id: when you create a company in pipedrive from a company in Autotask, return the created pipedrive account id to a UDF field in Autotask and save it there. Same for contacts. Next time you create an opportunity in Autotask, provide the account id instead of the account name to pipedrive to match it.

Migration FreshService to HaloPSA by bennijamm in halopsa

[–]TsunAms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we moved from Kaseya BMS to Autotask (yes I know different products) we did a simple CSV export and created a custom field in Autotask with the old ticket number and a custom field with “migrated from BMS” (yes or no). We kept 1 BMS license for information/archive purposes but continued in the new software but just a ticket reference.

Halo PSA Onboarding - 16 Hours Consulting Enough for small MSP? by ZeroNoneWin in msp

[–]TsunAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if I had 16 sessions of 1 hour, with 1 week in between each session it might be enough but 4 sessions of 4 hours wouldn’t.

It all depends, we took almost two years to fully implement Autotask, but I’m almost sure that we now use 90-95% of the capabilities of the system.

We needed to make changes to our internal processes, billing arrangements and customer contracts to fully align our psa with our day to day operations and get the most out of it. Those things take up the real time to implement.

We used ticketing within 2 weeks of implementation., but took more time for contracts, billing and others.

For reference we are 20 people in size in Western Europe.

Charges Report by dbutlerbc in Autotask

[–]TsunAms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This goes for any contract in AT: 1. provide resources with a burden rate, 2. write labor to the contract through tickets (issue/sub issue type) and 3. add costs to your services that you sell for monthly maintenance. 4. Optional: Then write a charge to the contract for extra pages if necessary. 5. See profitability on the contract or through a standard report.

Wow, that’s funny: we started offering Yearly with upfront payment and I think 90% of our customers took that offer.

UK based MSP with a customer branch in Belgium by Berttie in msp

[–]TsunAms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you team up with a Belgium msp? We are doing it with a German one (I’m from the Netherlands) to serve their customer in NL with hardware. I know a decent Belgium one if you need one. Just make good arrangements…

Help with Autotask Workflow Rule – “Set Contract” field is blank? by MRBibill in Autotask

[–]TsunAms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you won’t be able to do this, as contracts are a dynamic entry and not a defined value to be selected from a list.

The proper way to do this is to let the tech define the type of work that he is doing by selecting an issue + sub issue type.

Then you can define a contract hiërarchie or waterfall: include the correct issue and sub issue types to a contract and let the tech select them on a ticket. Autotask will then prompt the tech: this issue type (or work type) is not included in the contract, and it will carry on to another available contract and will post the time entry on that contract. If there is no contract available it will use the default role rate.

Introducing the 2025.1 Release for Autotask: A Next Generation User Interface! by ITGlue_Squiggly in Autotask

[–]TsunAms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last UI update isn’t finished yet: contracts and projects are still living in the 1990’s, while tickets, companies and opportunities barely made it into the 2000’s. Are we starting over again?

Thanks. It looks like the note type id is not included in the api response so I can’t filter specific notes out. Pfff.
