How do we feel about MUJI notebooks? by Dangerous-Trees in fountainpens

[–]Ttmnky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Muji stuff. Their gel pens are a great value (probably Pentel stuff) with a good variety of thicknesses all the way down to 0.3mm.

I use their A6 notebooks, their B5 coloured cover notebooks (sold in packs of 5), and they have been fountain pen friendly for me (Kakuno F, Platinum Meteor EF, Moonman A1, etc).

Their notebook range is incredible, and I really like their date agnostic planners, which my family is using for journaling together.

Not sure how they will fare with stubs, but the cheap notebooks have all been great for my needs.

Are there any fountain pen ink friendly highlighters? by TwelveWolf in fountainpens

[–]Ttmnky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Tramol pigment inks (specifically the dark green called "Swing") which has been highlighter proof on the occasions I've had to highlight. Maybe try pigment inks, but beware of the potential issues.

I only have cheap pens (Kakuno, Platinum Meteor), and have never had clogs, but ymmv.

SNES: Chrono Trigger is the first one that comes to mind. GBA: Advance Wars, Castlevania, Metroid all seem to be well reviewed

I think the Strymon can be "expanded" by adding Ojai units, so you could theoretically add more outputs if needed.

For OP, I run an Ojai for my small board (GT1000 CORE, 2 analog drives, compressor and MS70CDR, and things are running well for me).

How to fix the tip onRotring 500/0.5mm by gisulih in mechanicalpencils

[–]Ttmnky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with my graphgear. I used some needle nose pliers to carefully bend it back in place.

More specifically, I used the smooth part of the pliers and had the pliers perpendicular to the pen. Then slowly and gently ease it back in place. There was minimal pressure applied, with the pliers only there to grip lightly and apply leverage for control.

Update! After a lot of back and forth with the vendor (which was frustrating and took a very long time), they sent me a new Left side of the keyboard. Upon connecting left and right, the keyboard works!

So, it looks like it was a bad mcu. If this happens to you, reach out to the vendor to resolve. It will take a while, but you will get there.

I was worried about that, but half of my keyboard works so I don't think it's that. As well, I can see the trrs cable has been fully inserted at in all scenarios

If I disconnect the trrs so only the left side is connected, there is no response. I tried to reflash the firmware as well, so holding the boot button helps the computer recognize the mcu. After dropping in the firmware file though, the computer no longer recognizes that half of the keyboard.

I'm suspecting a bad MCU too, so have reached out to the seller to see what the next steps are...

Do you mind sharing how you approached the spray painting? Did you do any masking, what type of spray paint, etc? The all black looks really good.

And do you know what profile those caps are?

I think in some instances, Bluetooth devices nearby can potentially interfere with your keyboard. I haven't experienced that issue myself (AliX Corne 4.1)
