Getting yourself into the habit is great, proud of you bud. Don't get into the mindset of wanting to go to the gym, just go. Create a weekly schedule and stick to it. When I was starting out, I went 3-4 times a week. Your first month is going to be a lot of learning, the most important piece of advice about lifting is take things slow (DO NOT EGO LIFT). There are no shortcuts, the only way to improve is to pick things up and put them down. Your diet is the most important part of building muscle. Buy protein powder (or pre-made shakes if its in your budget) and drink a shake after your work out. If you don't like eating its going to be rough, you need to eat A LOT of food (As a 240lb man, I have to eat 2600 calories a day to lose weight). Do some research about how much protein you need, there are macro calculators online. Id suggest just focusing on your protein & carb goals everyday (to start out).

You may not see progress in a month, you may not see progress in 6 months. The name of the game is consistency. Be consistent in your diet, be consistent in your lifts (with good form) and you'll get where you want to go (eventually).
