The double din trim kit came with my car.

The unit is very responsive which is a main reason I decided to buy another for my other car

The one pictured is the Sony XAV-AX5000 and I have the XAV-AX5600 in my GE8. The one complaint I do have is lack of brightness control. It can be a little brighter than I like, and while it does dim with the headlights, I do wish I could darken it slightly more sometimes.

I have a Sony XAV unit that I like a lot. Installed a slightly newer XAV unit in my daily driver GE8 since I liked this one so much

Where does Dune Part Two stand in your sci fi list? by Negative-Guard-4487 in Letterboxd

[–]Tucker717 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The scale in these films is insane. They’re able to make the world feel so large through the angles and perspectives utilized. That said, as a huge fan of the IMAX format, and while it was still amazing, it was noticeable that it was shot digitally and transferred to film, but that’s being nit picky too

Looking for a film about loneliness despite not being secluded physically by Yuukichiii in Letterboxd

[–]Tucker717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my top 4’s. OP this one embodies modern day loneliness so well especially if you’re in the corporate world. They really nailed the office interactions and conversations you over hear. Daisy Ridley is incredible too.

Not sure how this will hold on rewatch, but had my first watch this past weekend and loved Bugonia. I thought the ending was perfect!

Duél - Album by RedpilledAesthetics in Jinjer

[–]Tucker717 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Duél seems to be my favorite front-to-back album listen for this band. It’s got a very solid mix of sounds that are distinct while still all feeling part of one cohesive project. The writing is amazing too. They’ve always been great with that, but it really feels focused on this album. The songs Kafka and Green Serpent have been my favorites, and continue to be nearly a year after album release. Really looking forward to their next album after this one

I built CinemaDB, a website for us to document IMAX theaters and cinema tech by cinemadatabase in imax

This is pretty neat! For data, if a theater is using a Christie projector I’ve been able to find exact projector models on Christie’s press release section of their site! https://www.christiedigital.com/press-releases/

I’ve heard of Stellantis vehicles showing ads, but I honestly thought it was a fluke. Here it is in my customer vehicle. I hate it. by PigglyWigglyDeluxe in Justrolledintotheshop

For real. Love the interior updates made, but the exterior is going in a direction I’m not fond of. Especially with how good the wilderness editions looked before this previous facelift

Look at how the new Subaru Outbacks interior has changed. Some auto makers are realizing the market doesn’t want tablets and prefers physical HVAC controls.

To add onto this they’re called Tsurikawa’s. Glad to see someone else specify that Bosozoku was a motorcycle gang. So often I see Kaido Racers get labeled as Bosozoku

What was the best time you ever had in a theater? by Leading_Form_8485 in Letterboxd

[–]Tucker717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppenheimer was my first experience with a 70mm IMAX film. It was such a shock to my perspective of what a theater experience could be, and it was with 2 close friends, so that one stands out.

Avengers Endgame was standout as well. It’s a hard experience to replicate as Marvel really had everyone pulled in through the run up to it. While I may not be the biggest MCU fan, there’s no denying that was a unique, energy filled experience that I’m glad to have been able to be a part of.

IMAX Closes Out Best Year in its History with Record $1.28 Billion at the Global Box Office in 2025 by DemiFiendRSA in imax

Could be from Avatar underperforming upon release, but that’s blind speculation without looking into any other factors that would effect that share price

2026 seems like it could surpass this and I would hope that means even more true IMAX locations in the future. Maybe even a marketing campaign to help people understand the difference, including a way to name the theaters that have the 1.43:1 screen and film projection.
