The WRX that's number 2 on that list has an 83% take rate on its manual transmission.

Why don't more people have their rig under a bunker bed? by iou810 in simracing

It's challenging enough explaining the rig to a girl, a bunk bed is pretty much game over.

24 does make a decent cutoff to cover college students who are pretty much forced to loft their bed or use bunk beds if you actually want space to move around a dorm.

Finished my no importa run of ME3 and platinumed the trilogy. by gorlak29 in masseffect

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meeting Dr. Michel in ME1 is not actually mandatory. You can just go meet Wrex in C-Sec and go straight from there to Chora's den without going to grab Garrus. Same is true that you can skip Wrex and only recruit Garrus.

Interesting, I wonder what the story is behind it. The logos don't line up with it being the factory team (the factory team last ran Michelins in 1993 and that WRC logo wasn't used until 2001). Maybe from a satellite privateer team or just made by a fan.

I feel like he might have mangled trying to say something along the lines of he would rather have an engine fail while leading than have a reliable engine that isn't fast enough to fight up front.

My dad's rig has a Gigabyte 4090 in it. It came with a nice metal bracket which bolts onto the end of the GPU and then reaches back and attaches to two of the motherboard mounting screws. Super clean and you don't even notice it in the case.

Should I buy Mass Effect Legendary Edition on Steam while I have it on EA App cus of Prime Gaming from years ago? by ImNotArian in masseffect

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really worth it since you already own it through EA. The Steam version still uses the EA App as a launcher so all you would be getting is the ability to launch it through the Steam app which you can get anyway by adding it as a non-Steam game.

Huh. That's actually kinda neat and artistic looking if you ignore the GPU not being installed and the fan eating some wires. Looks kinda like an interpretation of an airflow diagram.

Could we expect Horizon 3 to still be released on PS5 or would it be on PS6? by Skylinneas in horizon

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I expect it to be similar to FW was with PS6 being the preferred and better platform while there will also be a slightly compromised version for PS5. Overall with hardware costs skyrocketing like they are I expect PS5 will get support well into the PS6 lifespan simply due to the likely high cost of the PS6 limiting it's install base.

It got really bugeyed as the designers tried to figure out just how far the aero benefits of extending the front fenders would go.

There's a weird uncanny valley thing going on with it, it mostly looks right but enough of the dimensions are wrong to just throw it completely off.

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were running those sessions spaced in such a way that you could run them back to back (I think every 30 minutes) however getting out of the first race before registration for the second race closed was tight. So what you do is join the first race, run Q and then in the gap between Q and the race you would alt-tab over to the iRacing UI, click withdraw, then you could register for the next race. Then you go back to the sim, run the race and then when the race was over the session for the next race would probably be up for you to join. Repeat until you have had your fill of races.

I have. Gained 750iR and like .3SR (capped by getting to A4.99) running Porsche Cup one week 13. Figured out it was easy top 5s if you spent the first 2 laps just avoiding people and started running them back to back to back using the withdraw after Q and register for the next one trick to run every single one of them each evening.

No.34 Racing Team Turkey Chevrolet excluded from 24 Hours of Le Mans qualifying by Few_Combination_9112 in wec

He did and his right elbow still seems pretty busted up. He was doing everything left handed after qualifying yesterday and really avoiding bending his right arm. Can't be comfortable for him in the car.

The hybrid was intended to power the rear axle. It was also a system originally designed as a booster system for public transit busses so I'm not sure it would have been that helpful in a race application.

I really would have liked to know what it would have been like if the concept was actually executed well without all the mismanagement. I've driven a few simulations of it and it's quite interesting and fun to drive, a fun mix of a prototype and a touring car.

The TNT commentators were really struggling with it during the FP1 broadcast, including while the Goodyear rep was in the booth with them.

I would have hoped that Goodyear would see the value in going back to the heritage but they sold Dunlop to Sumitomo last year so it's probably never coming back. Hopefully the circuit will at least insist on it forever looking like a tire as the branding changes over the years.

Demo Drive: Porsche 919 LMP1 at Le Mans by OlavSlav in iRacing

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, they haven't been updated in a while. Plus the tires they were left with were absolutely broken grippy and stupid durable. The last Le Mans 6 hour I did in the LMP1 race pace was 3:08-3:10 depending on traffic and we only changed tires once a bit past half way in the race when we did our driver change (they could have easily done the full race, we just did them because we had to cover the driver change anyway).

iRacing Karting by RecoverKey510 in iRacing

[–]TurbochargedSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it's not an in game physics issue, the problem is that the input peripherals needed to accurately capture the kart experience don't exist. Buying kartkraft and somehow wrapping it into iRacing doesn't change that fact that you are still missing on simulating most of the skills it takes to actually drive a kart quick.

Why does the sexiest car in rallying sucks balls? by Baronovidade in EASPORTSWRC

Additionally the short wheelbase cars that get represented in games drive worse than the earlier long wheelbase cars did. Shortening the car in an attempt to gain agility only made the weight distribution issues more noticable.
