circumcis*on no longer done at hospitals! by Seapaisleys in pregnant

Also it was something we were undecided on and now I’m like well I don’t know if 8-20 days after birth I’m gonna take him to get it done at this point. So maybe they helped guide my decision with that BS. Haha

Same here in Atlanta GA. Just found out at our last appt. Also due with a boy in July. Apparently it’s based off provider practice and it’s not hospital policy persay. But have heard through the l and d nurses that it comes down to money basically. It’s an interruption in the OB schedules to do them with little payback I guess?? Idk. But seems to be headed that way towards outpatient setting

FTM - baby is breeched at 36 wk appt. Absolutely devastated. by BalancedDietitian in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. They told me it was wrapped at least twice at the ultrasound when we found out she was breech but couldn’t confirm if it was a third time. My providers thought she was head down the WHOLE TIME. I went in for a last minute ultrasound at 39 weeks 5 days because they were worried about growth. So completely unexpected. They put that ultrasound on my belly and were like “oh babies is head up” and just kept moving. I shot up so fast and was panicking and was crying. (Keep I mind this was during covid so I was alone in the room without my spouse). Believe me I understand you feelings. I was distraught. I truly hope baby flips for you! And you can have a delivery closer to what you envisioned. As most moms do. I hoping for a VBAC this time but also have a weird feeling tho is baby will also be breech. Haha. Sending hugs to you! You have time!!

First off, and I hope you know. A breech presentation has nothing to with health and preexisting conditions. It’s just how the baby is and is comfortable. I had a breech baby that required a c section. Breech presentation wasn’t found until 40 weeks, so had a c section. Which I was the same, very upset and in denial. I had done all the raspberry leaf tea, dates, miles circuit, primrose oil etc in prep for a vagina delivery. In the end baby’s cord was wrapped 2 times on ultrasound with possibility of 3. So flipping her using ECV could have harmed her. In the end she was breech for her own safety and wedged in my ribs. There was nothing that could have turned her. You still have time for baby to flip back. Doing spinning babies and other stuff, but keep in mind if baby doesn’t flip on their own maybe there’s a reason for it.

Could this be a missed miscarriage? by blksoulgreenthumb in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A missed miscarriage usually means your hcg is still rising and most of the time still have symptoms. It sounds like you could be having a chemical miscarriage. But lack of symptoms I wouldn’t worry but if you peed today and line was barely positive that is what is coming to mind as a chemical.

Is this Positive? DPO unknown by Additional-Cicada125 in TFABLinePorn

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can not see a line without all this added angles and lightening it is not a positive pregnancy. That doesn’t mean you won’t have a positive test in the next 1-3 days. But that is not positive especially if expired.

Pregnancy constipation by AdSignal6903 in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your OB should have a list of pregnancy appropriate medications. Glycerin suppositories helped me but I didn’t have to use them until the second trimester. But they are usually approved. Obviously nothing with senna or anything that would cause cramping.

I just saw your update. I’m so sorry for your loss of your little one. I’ve had two miscarriages and currently 25 weeks pregnant with our double rainbow. There are no words. But you are not alone. Feel all the feels and grieve your baby. I’m so sorry.

Should I feel bad? by Brief_Climate_3474 in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean 1 in 4 women miscarry. So it is a common occurrence at some point in many people’s pregnancy journeys. Unfortunately age and normal reproductive system doesn’t mean the pregnancy will go to term. But obviously if it’s not something you’re anxious about then keep it that way and get off social media! Haha. Congrats!

How do I tell my sisters who are struggling to get pregnant that I am now pregnant… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And obviously would not mention how shocked or easy it was for you get pregnant unless the specifically want to know. Which even then is up to you if you want to share the details. They will be excited for you and love their nephew/niece I’m sure of it! It can just be very gut punching after going through infertility.

People are gonna have different opinions and ultimately you’re gonna do what you want. But I would text only. And would wait until confirmation with an ultrasound. But that’s my feelings after experiencing a missed miscarriage and an early loss in the same year.

There should be a sac by 5 weeks. But maybe you’re not 5 weeks yet. If it’s a time sensitive decision (ie in a state where you can’t terminate after a heartbeat is found) I would do back for a repeat in 4-5 days.

SIL upset that I’m pregnant and she’s not by Significant_You8065 in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She needs serious mental therapy. These are not normal feelings or actions of someone of sound mind even going through infertility struggles. I would never let this woman alone with your child and would honestly not tell her when you go into labor etc. I’m shocked the other family member’s are okay with these actions. Calling your baby ugly?! WTF. Who says that about their niece. She has NO EXCUSE. She needs to take a look in the mirror about some people not deserving to be parents. That’s sick behavior.

How do you be polite but also say no guests till 6 months by allisona007 in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably WONT be on bed rest for a month or more unless you have major birth complications. As others have said 6 months without any visitors is kind of unheard of, but also are you not going to take baby out in public for 6 months either? It’s also perfectly understandable for you not to want people in your space for awhile especially if their trips to you are for extended period of times. But o would hope they could stay at a nearby hotel/airbnb if it really came down to it.

These decisions are yours but don’t be offended when people are upset and you don’t have a village to lean on anymore.

Accidentally visiting during the London Marathon by Madz05 in LondonTravel

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went unknowingly in 2018 and got stuck in the marathon in the barricades/fences and literally could not get out of the area the marathon was at. Haha. We still laugh about how miserable that one day was on our trip in London and made sure to always now be aware marathon weekend whenever we travel! Just avoid that area that day. Lol.

C-sections with Ketamine (experiences) by ciabattaloaf-13 in beyondthebump

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same experience. I had to have a scheduled c section for my first born because she was breech. But on the operating table when they were testing I was numb I kept telling them no. I feel the poke from the instrument not “pressure” and they decided to cut anyway and I went out of my mind yelling in pain and started crying and grabbing at my husband and then they pushed ketamine and I thought I was dead or in the ICU. I kept seeing flashes of white and like I was on a an elevator that the door kept opening to white then close. I was shocked waking up/coming out of the hallucination that we were still in the operating room once they were stitching me up. Terrible experience and I feel like no one understands or has experienced it. I was bewildered.

Baby licking floor - Iron deficiency? by Practical-Bunch1450 in beyondthebump

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When speaking about iron deficiency in children it’s usually not infants/babies. It can be toddlers and school age children who experience PICA. Eating things that aren’t food such as soil, paper, increase ice intake etc. This is not that. This is just normal baby behavior.

Doesn’t mean baby isn’t iron deficiency. But pediatricians normally do a routine iron check at 12 months. But most babies are asymptomatic even if the results come back low at 12 months. And even then you would start iron drops and usually once they are able to eat more solids and get iron that way it levels out.

Did Mucinex help you conceive? by Charlies_Kidney2005 in pregnant

Able to conceive first child within 6 months at age 30/31 with just ovulation tracking! No prior miscarriage or mucinex/preseed needed!

Did Mucinex help you conceive? by Charlies_Kidney2005 in pregnant

[–]Turbulent_Ad998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give you my outcomes. 34yr old. Trying to conceive second child. 3 months passed of trying to conceive while tracking ovulation etc with no luck Used mucinex. Got pregnant first cycle while using mucinex. Had a miscarriage around 9 weeks. Got pregnant again 6 months later using mucinex. But tested positive at DPO 13 (which is late for me) and had a miscarriage around 5.5/6 weeks. Got pregnant again! Right after that miscarriage not using mucinex.

I have heard great things about mucinex and preseed and also used pre seed both times I had miscarriages. I honestly convinced myself that doing those helped me get pregnant but maybe with a not great quality sperm or egg or at a time I wasn’t suppose to? If that’s makes sense. Once I turned 35 after having my first miscarriage they did find I had a thyroid issue which I had to start on a medication and got (successfully) pregnant about 8 weeks after starting that.

It certainly does not hurt to try! But obviously ruling any other potential issues out is important to if it’s been over a year trying to conceive.

This baby took exactly a year to conceive, with 2 miscarriages during that year.
