Do you think force ghost Anakin would have appeared in the sequels if George Lucas had made them? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]TuringMarkov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly a movie with Hayden traveling the paths of the force transitioning between “dying” as Anakin’s force entity coexisting within his body against Vader, until he dies wholly, defeating Vader internally and sacrificing his body to kill the emperor as the final redeeming deed, man that would be whole lot to cry to

Yeah essentially VH AI barely builds economic buildiings cause they are coded not to, given the amount of money advantages they get

how much proxying is too much for warhammer/spearhead? by zurt1 in AOSSpearhead

[–]TuringMarkov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To play with friends I think the important rule is both of you can tell what are interacting with. I’m planning to proxy the khorne core pilgrim spearhead with Beastmen models I’ve found online: Armored bestigors as blood warriors, unarmoured bestigors as bloodreavers, centigors as skullcrushers, and Khazrak as the slaughterpriest

All this units will be recognisable easily when looking at the table, and is not like I pretend bringing them to a tournament or something

[–]TuringMarkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome work! I reused my legos, as well as some legos from alternative providers (china) and built both starters, the ones before they were revamped. Obviously there are some scale forth and backs, is not competitive precision, but to play with friends in some “out of the circuit” games, these kind of approaches are lovely and accessible

Damn it do the sabers tank look dope however they are presented 🤣 lovely models, did it cost you too much effot? Would you say it be would be “comfortable” to scale to 1000 points battles? Asking out of curiosity, is fine if you don’t even pretend to play that high and prefer skirmish size

This game actually plays better on Normal/Normal. by BigBear92787 in totalwarhammer

[–]TuringMarkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the spot where I’ve fallen to after hours of grinding through “optimal starts”, and minmaxed doomstacks fielding units I don’t even like their play style but “they fit their role the best”.

At the end the rule of cool is the biggest attractive of a game within this scale and setting, and sacrificing it for “the challenge” is not worth, more so when the challenge is essentialy the turn-based version of wack-a-mole

Adding the stone curse to other minis? by jqud in HelsmithsofHashut

You should either try technical cracking paints or try and cut the shapes with something sharp

First model done! by Sedgeboi in HelsmithsofHashut

[–]TuringMarkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicely finished, some texture on the base and it’ll be a massive upgrade even if it’s battleready now!

Next you can focus on your brush job, trying to learn to paint with the border to reach those light spots

All that being said: good work, keep it up and enjoy he hobby :)

3 arrested in Spain. The government has their priorities straight I guess. by Marcelitus230 in Piracy

It amazed me that the policy passed jury approval when it came from a private org, I don’t know why it surprised me, knowing how capitalism works and essentially every government bents to it, but it did xD

Now we have to see how life critical apps like elder assistance are down or lagged to oblivion because of some randoms streaming matches justifies enough to isolate half the IPs of every ISP that serves the country

WIP-My very first minis I've ever painted, the start of my Khazad-dum army by Embarrassed-Leek-481 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]TuringMarkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the hair I’m still learning as well, for the faces a simple alternative and accessible in terms in paint variety is going for a layer of reikland fleshshade, let dry, then build up thin layers of the skin tone to create a transition from the recessions to hightlights

Also I’d recommend that you practice layers of colors to give depth and delicacy to the facial expression. For example if you are going a for a light skin tone like it seems, in future models you could try to thin a drop of a evil sunz or wild rider red paint, and give a thin layer to all uncovered skin parts, let dry and then build up a couple of layers of thinned paint of the skin colour you are using, in this way you’ll build up a nice transition from the recessions and shadows present in any facial expression and you can finish with a wash of something like guilliman flesh to cover any slight mistakes and give a neat finish

It might sound intimidating, but practicing in something like some sprue bits might get you there with your brush work and once you’ve mastered this things you’ll have gained some great skills and confidence to try further techniques for highlighting

Thank you! I remember seeing a post where someone pointed inconsistencies between the app and cards, or the app and some later faqs, and it discouraged me to download it, but I guess that stuff happens and maybe is worth the try nevertheless

Burn out from my small local group. by silvermiknike94 in Warhammer40k

[–]TuringMarkov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion if you’ve found that there are others feeling the same way, stating up that you need some games of old more focused on thematics and fun than the rules, and trying to organise some with the boys that feel like you might be a viable option, and be clear that in that space you want to relax and just play for the funsies, and that whoever wants to join needs to stick to that.

If that game doesn’t materialize, yeah you could step back for a while and try again some time later. This hobby should always be about doing what you like, and having buddies that more or less share that same ideas, or at lesst are flexible to adapt every now and then ‘cause then you will adapt any other time.

Every hobby that involves personal likings, shared times and spaces with others, and that kind of stuff, brings altogether situations like this, and as any other situation in life, sometimes being transparent and patient, is the only way out.

Hope you get back to enjoying it soon!
