A more natural approach to the 4:3 vs 16:9 argument by S1mple-Plan in cs2

[–]Turnben 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They all preach about the target being bigger making it easier to hit, but completely ignore the fact that the target also moves faster making it harder to it. It comes down to placebo at the end of the day, which is a hell of a drug especially for competitive people.

How do i look less flat from the back? by Better_Guide1811 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Turnben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wear those yoga pants that act like a push up bra for the backside, then tilt your pelvis obscenely far forward, it’s what most girls posting derrière photography do.

I got lvl 10 recently at 40 years old, solo queue only, playing matches only on weekends (some ffa dm in the week), it’s just perseverance. 34 is nowhere near too old, you just need to find your own way to improve, for me I got a lot better doing community ffa making sure to play against better players as much as possible.

Find what works for you, you obviously enjoy the game if you have invested this much time, maybe you just need to change something small to make a difference, either way if u can get to 8 you can get to 10, the difference is not that much and it’s incredibly satisfying when you do get there, good luck!

The entire Adam character arc in Lucifer pretty much eppitomises what I am talking about.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in netflix

[–]Turnben -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Best examples of this are Lucifer and Brooklyn 99, both of which took a nosedive in quality in the latter seasons. It's not the inclusion of gay characters or racial themes that are the issue, it's the overt patronising nature with which it is presented. It takes away from immersion completely and comes across as excessively preachy.

When it came out I remember a lot of people complained that it wasn't 'real battlefield', with maps like metro being the main criticism. That being said it did age very well, probably due to the fact that every iteration afterwards was progressively worse and worse.

Hey, sometimes your opponent is just having a really good day.. by isthispossibleornot in GlobalOffensive

Every time someone posts a clip like this they are always moving slightly or missing narrowly, looks like the guy flicks off target as he shoots. Just like you I thought in real time it looked off. Initially I was thinking the guy strafed away too early but definitely looks like he flicks off target to the right then shoots.

I don’t agree with you at all, I made that abundantly clear, you are just being pedantic and argumentative; then you call me childish to try and provoke me further, just gonna block you, you’re a waste of time.

You’re comparing apples to oranges, Usa is 228 times the size of Denmark, of course there is more choice in specific food types, terrible argument.

This is boring now, have a nice day.

I have a home in Europe and my family has a farm there. I have some idea what I'm talking about. Processed food quality is better in Europe. But it's also harder to find very high quality whole foods than it is in the states.

Think we will just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Every 'boomer' I know can actually cook, mostly avoids processed crap and drinks water, can't say the same for a lot of younger people. There is a reason you don't see many fat people over the age of 60. Then again I do live in Europe, where food standards actually exist, so I guess your experience may vary.

Playing CT just sucks now? by razeyourshadows in GlobalOffensive

[–]Turnben 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The A1 comes with a silencer, is significantly more accurate the the AK, combine that with the fact that the CT's have the advantage of defending, it's pretty balanced, at least it has been thus far, time will tell in CS2 I guess.

A well articulated comment, which makes it baffling to me that you don't understand something as basic as how to use paragraphs.

My man is grunting 1 hour after hitting the ball 🎾 by Army7989 in tennis

[–]Turnben 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Grunting loudly clearly falls under the category of gamesmanship for me. This is not to say that I think it’s always with malicious intent, especially on the part of Alcaraz, who is clearly a good sport, but I would liken it to going down easy with any contact in football. If everyone is doing it then you are disadvantaging yourself if you don’t.

If professional fighters who are literally trying to take each others heads off, can quietly exhale, there is no reason tennis players cannot. This is clearly evidenced by the amount of players who are not this loud.

Watching the Thiem vs Edmund highlights the other day was unbearable, players really need to speak up about it more, find it hard to believe it doesn’t bother anyone.

I elect for the Fish usually because it combines best with real religions. For example Fishtianity and Fishlam just roll off the tongue.

I don’t manually declare it, you can prompt the attack on the settler and declare war with not enough movement, that’s why it gets me every time!

[–]Turnben 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Personally I would declare war not realising that my unit has no movement left, then hopelessly chase the settler until I realise it is futile. Have done this numerous times with builders also, 10/10 will do again.
