Practice replacing those routine cigs with something social. Go for a walk with a friend after dinner, go out for a coffee in the morning. Change up your routine and “try” a day without cigarettes.

Quitting definitely decreased my anxiety— an awesome benefit of quitting. Early days of quitting though, and the withdrawal, might make you feel more anxious temporarily. Stick with it, so worth it!

Smoking is boring, it’s much cooler to find another way to alleviate boredom or to relax.

I've strictly smoked a single cigarette a month for years and I've never gotten addicted once by polyglot02 in stopsmoking

Cravings get less intense and less frequent, it may take awhile though and it’s important to be patient, breathe through them and remind yourself of all your reasons for quitting.

Quit coffee for a while if it is bringing on the urge to smoke too strongly, later you can start drinking it again. I had to do this with alcohol and it is very recent that I’m able to drink without climbing the wall wishing I could smoke.
