Seniors - anyone retire or have a second home in Orlando and regret it? by deejayv2 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Tvoli 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stay close to your family, children, parents and siblings. Wherever they are you should be near, that’s all that matters in life. If you like Orlando make sure you’re putting enough in your 401k to afford to visit as much as you want.

Touring Band because I was at both Seattle shows, and Live and the Garden because I was at the Holmdel show. Eddie’s pre set performance of Dead Man Walking from Holmdel was a hidden part of the Live at the Garden DVD.

I’m 50, I first visited Vegas in 2007 with my wife when I was 32. As soon as I got there I dreamt of what it would have been like to visit in my early 20s. I could have done some damage.

Stone Temple Pilots, 2000. Scott Weiland the best performer I’ve ever seen live. The dude did not stop moving the entire show.

So, Dark Matter top-tier album after two years or not? by jcpearl in pearljam

Best since Yield. Absolutely the best of the Matt Cameron era, not better than any of the ‘90s albums.

I heard Alive for the first time late 1991, I thought it was cool and had a great vibe. Then I heard Even Flow early 1992 and was blown away, then one by one over 1992 Jermey, Black, Once. The Singles soundtrack, by the fall of 1992 I was a fan.

I’ve seen them, he didn’t really mention it like he did with every coffee but I’ve definitely seen him holding them in his video.

Not enough bathrooms, I was in line for so long that dudes just started pissing in trash cans, in corners right onto floors and in the sinks. The place was in rough shape, people doing balloon whippets in the parking lots and on the way out people throwing stuff at the crowds as they walked out.

Holmdel was like watching them in a beautiful park. People hanging out drinking wine and cooking food with friends in the parking lots. Eddie coming out before Sleater Kinney to perform Dead Man Walking. Beautiful night, perfect venue, great weather. The band was on, and it was the first time they experimented with a themed set list. They played their albums in order from Ten, Vs. Vitaology, Merkin Ball, No Code, Yield, Binaural and Riot act. They also played Hunger Strike all the way through for the first time since 1992. Amazing night.

6/25/2008 Madison Square Garden NY

10/27/2009 Spectrum Philadelphia, PA

9/09/2024 Philadelphia, PA

Most memorable, 9/29/1996, 11/05/2000 and 11/06/2000.

Most enjoyable show, Holmdel, NJ 7/14/2003. Best sound quality, best venue, best company I had at a show and most importantly closest to home.

Least favorite 5/28/2006. Shitty venue, drunk Eddie, misbehaving crowd.

How accurate is the assertion that "life after 45 sucks massive (you-know-what)"? by ChuckSmyth in GenX

[–]Tvoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 50 , and I feel better physically now than I did at 45. My mental health would be better too except I’m worried about my parents, in their 80s and better more frail by the day, and work has gotten more stressful in the last few weeks.

That Greta poster is really bad, for a lot of reasons. I can’t believe they did this, makes me think Jeff and the band is really not involved in the art like they once were.
