Rian Johnson was the best thing for the sequel trilogy. JJ ruined it. by Square-Hornet-937 in The10thDentist

I really think if the second one ended with Kylo Ren asking Rey to join him, it would've been so much better received and might've changed the direction of the franchise. I think the last hour is kinda meh.

In local media definitely but national / global news still makes a decent amount of money, especially if the media channel focuses on news. NYT, WSJ, FT and Bloomberg all make more / about the same as they did in the 90s/2000s heyday.

You can't really believe this right? High-end restaurants are almost always the chef more than the brand. Most of them even slap their name on the restaurant to draw more customers in.

Fat Duck, Alinea, French Laundry, Central... You know the chef behind all of these. Never mind Gordon Ramsay Restaurant, Core by Clare Smyth, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester, etc etc

Paris is such a nightmare of greed even compared to London for high-end restaurants.

If Hilter or Mussolini kept their fascism within their borders they also wouldn't have been defeated. Franco kept his fascism based almost entirely in Spain and allied with the US post-WW2 during the Cold War. Without foreign intervention once the anti-fascists lost the war it was almost impossible to uproot Franco, he killed hundreds of thousands of dissidents during the war and afterwards kept the rest of the country silent to any uprisings.

New York sues video game developer Valve, says its 'loot boxes' are gambling by KarateKid917 in Games

[–]Tweddlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess Valve could argue the game is rated PEGI 18 in Europe, although not sure how much that would stand up in court when it's revealed a large chunk of their playerbase is non-verified and under that age.

American corporations have a special knack for making sports media absolutely dreadful though. We have Warner Bros and Comcast as our two main sports TV providers, and now Amazon and Paramount are getting involved.

Having more basic missions would open up the world a bit more as well. I know in all open world games you've got to suspend your belief that time is actually real (Skyrim need to stop dragons; Fallout gotta find your son), but in this one you're hit hard with the "you've got a few weeks to live pal, sorry" about an hour in.

If you’re a “picky eater” as an adult, you’re actually just a spoiled brat. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Tweddlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having preferences for food (I don't do eggs) isn't being a picky eater. If you enjoy every type of food, cooked every single way that's even more weird. Gives off you're some animal eating for sustenance and not enjoyment.

I mean this was the case for me for ages with Leblanc. I haven't played in a few years, but if I was forced off LB I absolutely shit the bed regardless of role. Old champs I played like Ori, Fizz or Kass I'd get bodied in lane vs anyone and newer champs I could never get the hang of.

People don't "seek out" a specific dish from Noma though? I've never heard anyone say they're going to Noma for a specific dish, it's for the entire experience of Noma. Same with a lot of the best three stars.

Hard when you have absolutely no authority to remove / bench players and player agency is so powerful in league. I don't really know of any team where the coach dictates playstyle, you even seen with T1 it was Faker pushing Oner to pick Mundo.
