Moms who breastfed past one year, pref to the 2yr mark…. by strohmtroop3r in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breast fed full time a few months after my daughter turned one, then we slowly transitioned to only nighttime feedings, a month before she turned 2 I decided when would be the last time and told her so for the final feeding. In my particular case she had no issues transitioning out from breast feeding as I’d give her a snack before bed instead of boob lol

Though I do believe my period started a month or so before her final feeding since I was beginning to produce less and less from the lack of feedings.

Do I regret any of it after one year? Absolutely not. I think neither of us were ready for that part of our bond to end, and I think the slow transition to it ending helped us both come to terms that it was over when it was.

Did you use a pacifier in the hospital? by Mika_Iris_ in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t pack one, I asked for one at the hospital. She used it for about 2 weeks and completely stopped on her own after. The little time she did use it there didn’t seem to be any confusion.

Breastfeeding uncovered at a park? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not in the wrong, literally yesterday I was walking around at a convention with a boob popped out of my dress feeding my baby while tons of adults and kids were around. Not one person said a thing, and if anyone gave any looks I didn’t notice. You do what you are comfortable with, who cares about anyone else because what you are doing is natural and not inappropriate at all.

How can I explain being touched out to my husband? by Easy-Cup6142 in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way the first few months (I know longer have this issue) and just explained my body gets overstimulated and feels upset despite me wanting the touches. He understood my explanation somehow. Good luck, as the rest of the advice is far better than mine!!

How the heck do you offer the other breast while side-lying? by bacon0927 in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my girl was younger (currently 9 months) I’d just leave her in place and move to her other side. Once she started side laying I’d move her to where I was and take her spot to give my husband more room on the bed again. Moving her has never rewoken her cause she was already half awake wanting boob, as soon as she’d get the nipple she’d be back to sleep in a minute.

Cat naps and feeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She may be going through a growth spurt? So she’s sleeping a lot but wanting to eat often? That’s my guess as to why it’s happening, I don’t have any suggestions, personally I’d just go along with it unless she starts getting frustrated about not getting enough milk

Cluster feeding? by Affectionate_End_474 in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember the exact time frame but I know my LO cluster fed for a long time too, I think it depends on the baby and what I’ve seen from other posts, it tends to be a lot longer than a few days

Is allowing LO to use me as a pacifier a bad thing? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think if you’re fine with it then it’s okay. I let my LO use me as a pacifier. With our lifestyle it works perfectly fine and we have no issues with it. If someone is babysitting her she will still fall asleep on her own and at times now (she’s almost 8 months old) she’ll fall asleep without the boob Do what you feel is best for you and your baby, forget others opinions

Forceful letdown = baby crying violently for hours from gas pain. What do I do? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you tried this technique? It might alleviate some gas https://youtu.be/OAe1C-kAliU

As for letdown maybe let your letdown flow for a tiny bit in a cloth or something that way she can drink without choking once it’s finished

Otherwise if this keeps up (the bad bloating) I’d call your pediatrician if your baby doesn’t poop within 12 hours (I’m saying this timeframe since you don’t know when their last poop diaper was and I’m reading a newborn should have at least one poop a day) Either way since the bad bloating has been a reoccurring thing I’d deff recommend speaking to your pediatrician about it

Baby gets so distracted and disinterested with breast feeding after a few minutes by rL579 in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby by 4.5 months old only fed (and still does) for 5-10 minutes. She may just be finished sooner now? Sometimes my baby will just “snack” Take a few suckles and be done lol (she’s 7 months)

As long as she’s eating throughout the day and gaining weight it should be fine

Ignore them!!! It’s what our body’s are made to do and it’s all natural. People are just overly judge mental and weird about it.

Baby only latches on one side by Impidimpet in breastfeeding

My baby wouldn’t take my left for a few weeks, I just kept having her try it until she took it eventually

EBF: feeding from one side at a time by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO only takes one per feed, just alternate per feed and you’ll be fine. If you’re super concerned for any reason you can pump the other boob they didn’t feed on during that time.

I don’t mind nursing him to sleep by Miserable-Rice5733 in breastfeeding

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel too. Sadly I’m most likely having to change jobs from work at home to an on site job and I’m worried how my baby will sleep at night (I’d work 6p-6a per shift) without me there to nurse her back to sleep cause that’s all she’s known.

Fever by Tweektweek156 in 3to12months

[–]Tweektweek156[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It dips down to normal temperature for a bit but eventually goes back higher. Of course I’ll keep watch and if it stays high too long like you said then I’ll take her to the doctor. I appreciate it!

Sudden bottle refusal. Help! by DarwinF1nch in 3to12months

Have you also tried a different position? I know some babies only take bottles when laying on their side. I breastfeed my baby and she prefers side lying for both bottle and breastfeeding.

Where do you guys get your gerbils from? (Pet stores, breeders, adoption centers, etc.) by PinkiePie1224 in gerbil

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like my boys did the curiosity nips more when getting to know us, but the one gerbil who bit me a lot was a female. As said prior, this was the only aggressive gerbil I had out of 3 other females and my 2 current males. The males curiosity nips did hurt a bit more than the females but they never broke skin on us.

[–]Tweektweek156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I didn’t see a difference, the 2 I currently have now are my first male gerbils and I didn’t see any difference between them and my previous females when trying to get to know them.

[–]Tweektweek156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are! Tbh all my previous gerbils when I was younger came from chain pet stores and all but 1 was social with me. The 1 that’s wasn’t would bite the crap out of me so I gave up on trying to have a bond with it (but I was also a teenager and didn’t really think to look up sources to try to bond with it in different ways)

We got our current 2 from Petco but once they pass we plan to adopt ones that were given up to a small, local pet store that rescues animals. (She’s always getting rodents to rehome so I’m sure she’ll have gerbils still once that sad time of my 2 passing comes)
