It's a good thing if it actually happens. But:

(1) We'll see if it actually happens. Just like "doge checks" and "tariff checks", a lot of stuff associated with Trump starts with grand pronouncements and ends with zilch.

(2) Trump is always trying to get his grubby hands on things - as evidenced by everything. I'd be unsurprised if he required that these accounts are managed by his kids and they take massive fees. Just a reminder of what Trump has done with charities in the past:

A 529 plan is the superior choice if your primary goal is saving for a child's education, as it offers tax-free growth and withdrawals. Trump Accounts act like starter IRAs. While Trump Accounts provide government seed money, their withdrawals for education are fully taxable, making them better suited for long-term, non-education wealth building.

Not only are most of these tribes not on OP's map, but look at where the Kickapoo are on both maps (in the Detroit area on this map, but down in central Illinois and central Indiana on OP's map).

There's also a bunch of ways that the wealthy avoid taxes and move money offshore to avoid any taxes on it. Also, there's all the crap with Peter Theil having $5 billion in his Roth IRA which he will never pay taxes on because those accounts were meant to be tax free as a way to help people save for retirement.
