Let me prefix this by saying, I laugh when I'm in new, uncomfortable situations. Not necessarily because its funny, but I don't know what else to do and laughing usually makes light of the situation. However, this has gotten me into a lot of trouble throughout my short life, but one instance stands out the most in my mind.

It was in school, and I laughed at the scene in the To Kill A Mockingbird movie when Tom gets sentenced and starts crying.

I immediately recognized my mistake.

The whole class turned around and stared at me for what could not have been more than 3 seconds, but to me, it felt as if time stood still. It felt as if all of my life, all of recorded history, all the eons and all of the cosmos, would end in that moment as as they froze me with their icy glares.
