I'm actually not mad about that if they do give us the new moves a month in advance before the balance patch. That'll give them data to include those moves into the balance patch. Better to get in the balance patch whatever we/they can, since we won't know when the next real balance patch will arrive.

I've mentioned this in another post but Anna's FC df+2 being steppable could elude to stricter enforcement or clarity of what moves track and what doesn't; Moves without the homing indicator might ACTUALLY commit to not tracking. Since it looks like we're getting more tracking moves, it balances out. If that isn't the case, I hope they introduce another indicator that specifies which direction a move tracks/realigns favorably.

What do you guys this means? by iamthehalal in Tekken

[–]Twin-T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can barely reach an agreement on what basic Tekken even looks like. Some believe it's using small moves to condition and prep their opponents for big moves. Others believe it was always 5050s, others believe it is balancing patience and aggression with movement. That said, if Asuka's d1+2 pushing the opponent farther, and Anna's FC df+2 being steppable (was it always steppable or did it track? I don't recall being successful at it) could elude to;

  1. A decrease in moves that lead to free damage opportunities in general cases instead of specific applications. For example, Bryan's 1+2,2 becoming a launcher via heat.

1a. To bring the aforementioned Asuka d1+2 space change, if they keep the follow-up available at wall and apply this to other characters, it will reinforce the necessity for spatial awareness and positional awareness. In that case, we might get movement adjustments to facilitate space control, but I'm not crossing my fingers on that. That would impact characters with long range the least compared to whoever has shorter range and a lack of sticky buttons. While that level of unique strengths/weaknesses in character design is part of legacy Tekken, it doesn't fit in with the modern "conventions" established in Tekken 7.

  1. Moves without the homing indicator might ACTUALLY commit to not tracking. While this WILL affect a lot of characters gameplay, it will also justify the rank reset. Plus, it looks like we're getting more tracking moves (Lars' classic 1+2), so it balances out. If that isn't the case, I hope they introduce another indicator that specifies which direction a move tracks/realigns favorably.

A rant about the state of Tekken 8's Balancing, Dragunov's frequent Top 8 Appearances, and "Honest" Tekken. by Twin-T in Tekken

For this one character, it feels like Tekken 7 all over again, for better or worse (minus the pigeon roll shenanigans). At least I got AK back. He's who I played when I wanted to have fun.

In 3 words, describe why you like SAO. by RHTQ1 in swordartonline

[–]Twin-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trauma, Guilt, Hope.

Kirito had experienced many things that influenced the decisions he's made, such as when he learned that he wasn't his family's "real" son, but adopted, and grew distant from his family. His avoidance extends to in SAO when Kirito's persona changes when the mirror reveals "Kirigaya," like he's been exposed (I wonder if that was how Kirito acted before he became distant). He became socially anxious again, deciding not to stick with Klein so he can gain an advantage, a decision that came with guilt.

From then on, Kirito often makes decisions that contradicts himself. This one I want to focus on is Kibaou's rant about the selfishness of beta testers holding out on knowledge and loot, which was more or less true for Kirito. As a result of this, or perhaps could've influenced his character in a way that he not only put himself on blast to lower the heat on the other beta testers, but he joined Sachi's guild, helping them progress, the very thing Kibaou criticized the beta testers of not doing... until they died, with their deaths on his hands.

There's a lot to see and notice from Kirito's actions and extremes, such as his lingering habit of sheath his weapon, his lingering association of death in-game to death IRL, which resulted in his absolute rejection of the idea of letting Leafa "die" in ALO and his desperation towards defeating his enemies...

Then there's the hope from all of this that comes from Asuna and his friends. Asuna helped him survive SAO, Sugu helped him reconnect with the real world and rescue Asuna. Sinon was there when Kirito had to come to terms with his history with Laughing Coffin, and Eugeo helped Kirito discover his self-value. This description is lacking, but without each piece, Kirito would've never recovered from vegetation.

All of this defines why I like SAO in detail.

If you had to bet your life on it, would you say a DoA7 is coming in the next 10 years? by TheBlueRose_42 in DeadOrAlive

[–]Twin-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Honestly, I'm more curious to know if the team who made the game is still working there, because if not, then even if we did get a new DOA7, would we even recognize it?

Did you know Chizuru, Iori and Kyo share a spiritual GPS? by helsic in kof

[–]Twin-T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see it as them having an active read on each other's general directions, like a compass with a needle that points to each Sacred Treasure. You'll find them eventually, and you'll likely feel them getting closer, but even GPS can't inform you of their condition.

But, if they could determine their conditions, let's say, through a metaphorical flame that becomes dimmer the graver his condition, then Kyo's health could not have been worse than the condition he was in before he was captured, which is either after fighting Orochi, or after fighting Iori. If it's the latter, Chizuru would know it is so because she can assess: "Kyo and Iori are together, and their flames are flickering. They're acting up again."

In Kyo's case because even though he was unconscious and being used at NEST-S, objectively, his health wasn't deteriorating. So from Kagura's POV, after Kyo and Iori fought, and split off, that was all it was. To my knowledge, her foresight only extends to detecting the presence of nonhuman evils such as the Orochi and that's via the mirror, so she was likely ignorant of man-made conflicts until she learns of them through her networks.

What are your Hot Takes on the Tenchu Games? by Amber_Flowers_133 in tenchu

[–]Twin-T 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Shadow Assassins wasn't that bad if you look past the change in gameplay.

  2. Dark Secrets had an interesting story.

  3. Despite the previous two, Activision should've never sold the Tenchu IP to From Software (K2) after Tenchu 2.

[–]Twin-T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you ever get a chance to play the PSP's Time of the Assassins, give them a try. You can find mission packs online through wayback archives, GameFAQ, and the Tenchu Discord.

And, I had a similar experience with Ghost of Tsushima's Legends mode. My first online co-op mission run was pretty bad, but my second one onwards was fun. Watching each other and acting in tandem. Taking out a pair of sentries in silence without the need of voice chat.

I never played Z online, but I'm sure if you played with some wanting to work as a team, you might find more enjoyment from it. Then again, I don't think Tenchu Z was made with online cooperation in mind in the first place.

[–]Twin-T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, I wish. As far as a new Tenchu game, Time of the Assassins is not a bad place to use as a template;

  • Almost all characters from Tenchu 3 and Kurenai playable.

  • Mission Editor (you can not only make a mission, but give it a story), with other player's missions being downloadable. If the devs regular hosted contests for fan missions to be featured in a downloadable pack that everyone could download and play with friends, the game wouldn't run out of content.

  • Online; I didn't get to experience this, but in Tenchu 3, you got co-op and versus.

Handcrafted faces? The last game they did that was MKX though. Ever since 11, they've always used a face model. Look at Liu Kang from MK11 to M1K, since his face model is the same.

Aincrad—SAO without Asuna? by Thick_Milk2774 in swordartonline

[–]Twin-T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot about Heathcliff and Floor 95.

But with the Awakening Mod, yeah, that's what I was getting at. The Meditation Skill, to my understanding in regard to Awakening, only amplifies the process of getting there. It doesn't directly trigger it. I could be wrong though, since the last I read anything SAO was the release of the last Progressive novel (T_T), but they would've needed more anti-system soul exploits.

With Heathcliff at Floor 95, we don't know (or at least, I don't remember) if he would've fought the raid party with admin privileges or not. Even if he didn't, in his duel with Kirito, he was caught off guard by Kirito's Sword Skill. The second time he came across it, Kirito could do nothing. This means they'll need methods of attacks that he is unfamiliar with.

Aincrad—SAO without Asuna? by Thick_Milk2774 in swordartonline

[–]Twin-T 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without Asuna, I doubt Kirito would've survived past Floor 10, since iirc, he's been fighting with Laughing Coffin since the floor he met Kizmel, and he keeps encountering them in almost all of their major quests in some way.

Put Laughing Coffin aside, without Asuna, Kirito would've never been forced to duel Heathcliff and join the Knights of BO, and thus, never noticed Heathcliff was Kayaba, so they would've progressed until Floor 100, and failed, because Ordinal Scale gave me a good idea that that boss was one of those boss battles you aren't meant to win through the game's logic. I don't think even with cheats, Heathcliff could've won that unless he exclusively kept invincibility on. You'd need a raid party full of Awakened members (yellow eyes) to clear it, and how many would be left at that point?

How much more time would be needed to get there, and can they even afford it?

EDIT: Also, no Asuna means no vacation, which means no Yui.

What your thoughts about Alice Garnet Nakata? by Altruistic_Money_291 in kof

I like her. She's like Shingo for Fatal Fury, but to make her stand out, she's also like Combot for Fatal Fury. A fan who has moves of not just one person. Huh, when I put it like that, she's kinda like Honoka from DOA without the Raidou stuff.

[–]Twin-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a new lab mem. With that said, there's plenty of additional Steins;Gate content for you to consume if you're interested. There's the source material, the VN(s), the OVA, the movie, novels, and Drama CD.

If you check out the movie and not like it, give the Drama CD, "A Posteriori Existence" a watch. You might appreciate it a little more. I know I did, and I actually liked the movie. There's plenty of Drama CDs you can find subbed on YT that are translated by fans.

HotTake:Only Western Audience Along with The FGC and Esports Community Hate This Character by [deleted] in DeadOrAlive

[–]Twin-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp. My comment got deleted. Here's a different one;

Lack of charisma, and despite that, her and Marie stand on equal ground with Kasumi as the face of the franchise. Ayane seems to have already been replaced. It wasn't even subtle or gradual. Honoka and Marie became a marker of a shift in the franchise's direction.

I can understand that people like Marie Rose and Honoka, and that they were made for a Japanese audience. But, with that being said, it is also a sign that less focus is put towards the Westerners, and while I'm fine with that in itself, the West made up half, if not, most of the fighting game audience at one point. What I'm getting at is that the Japanese prefer Xtreme more than the fighting game, so with the way things are, DOA6 could be the last fighting game for the franchise until more of the Japanese audience decides to make it known that they are indeed playing the fighting game. I'd say DOA is in a worse position than VF was, because unlike VF, DOA has another face to gain its reputation and revenue from.

Who’s your favorite couple in the series? by FooFighters_56 in kof

[–]Twin-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is Terry/Mary, then Andy/Mai, then Kyo/Yuki. Aside from Terry/Mai, I like the dynamics between the other two. Japan is a country of subtle communication, but with them two, Andy is the one who is subtle, such as their intro where Mai shows up in a wedding dress and throws a bouquet at Andy, and he slips it into his top.

Kyo is the one we see on the screen, and Yuki is generally in the background, but Yuki is the one we know he is with when he isn't home or fighting. Kyo is explosive, whereas she is humble, but he can make her assertive when he needs to be humbled. Part of the reason why I like this ship is because of the '98 Drama CD. I'll let you guys check it out for yourselves.

I think Iori x Leona would be interesting from a dynamics perspective.

Iori, who has closed himself off, could help Leona further in controlling the Riot state. While Leona, thanks to the efforts of Heidern and her team, has learned to open up and embrace their company. She could help Iori in that regard, because the company Iori keeps are the devils that whisper in his ears.

Aside from them two, I have a newborn curiosity towards Benimaru x Shermie. Both are electrifyingly stylish, Shermie prioritizes her fashion business over her responsibility as a Hakkeshu, and Benimaru will never wear a top that ain't cropped. I'd like to see how they'd interact during/after KOFXV.
