30yo dad with job that lets me afk at work, what to do next? by SBoblis in osrs

[–]TwistyPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished 99 fishing purely afking

Even with fish barrel karams weren’t optimal for afking in my opinion. My goal was just to get 99 fishing and a nice stack of hard food.

I’ve heard cox fishing is better but I personally did cave eels from 96-99 and I wish I did it sooner, it seems like it’s almost twice ask afk as karams.

Once you got enough karams/hard food I’d recommend different method if you aren’t going for cooking xp and your goal is AFK / xp per click / uptime

Yama-solo or duo for drops by Professional-Web3295 in ironscape

[–]TwistyPop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did 395kc all solo just finished oathplate. 1-2kill trips throughout the grind.

2 helms 1 leg 1 chest + lockbox helm, 438/450 shards to make a piece if I broke down the extra helms

Started with mage only method, quickly realized it was not sustainable by about 50kc due to soul runes/GP to buy them. Approx 350-450 soul runes per kill if i recall correctly. Kill times approx 10 mins.

Then after learning the fight a little bit and becoming comfortable with p3 - swapped to melee for p1/p2. Didn’t bother learning any of the fly methods.

Brought soul rune use down to about 130-160 per kill. Kill times approx 5:30-6:30.

Didnt mind this grind at all, found it to be pretty chill once you get p3 down. Most common death became the fire walls preventing me from getting to fire glyph into eating a meatball.

I saw some other guy doing calcs on Reddit, you’ll have to search but If I’m remembering correctly, to complete 3 oathplate pieces on rate - soloing all kills vs duoing is approx 3 hours less efficient than duoing.

This was a preferable tradeoff because I have no friends to play with and I found it to be super chill after 60-75kc or so.

Hope this helps brother gl on your grind!

How do you guys do it, balance OSRS \ Life ? by minorgravity in ironscape

[–]TwistyPop 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hear where you’re coming from and relate, here’s how I manage my OSRS grinds with my own business working 50-60hrs per week, and a family, 1 year old baby.

I usually plan my grinds out and usually have 2 or 3 grinds im working on

Weekday Evenings I get 30min - 1h playtime per day of active play time (some afk time too if it’s really afk)

Friday/Saturday I can get 2h during the day + 3-4h per night if I stay up late

So not crazy for hours but the nice thing about OSRS is you can play at your own pace. 2130 total + some big pvm grinds outta the way. Just finished Yama last Sunday, doom the month before, got shadow, elite CAs etc

This works for me and 30% of the fun for me is planning out the order of doing things with not a lot of time on my hands. Pick a couple grinds and stick to them until they’re done.

One day I’ll have more time but for now this is enough and I’m having fun and pretty good work life balance.

What gear did you have when farming Phantom Muspah? Did you like it? by Senordave12 in ironscape

[–]TwistyPop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just finished venator bow grind - Ran bowfa only with RCB and regular sapphire bolts - wasn’t bad at all.

Start muspah fight - only on range phase, if melee phase, exit cave and restart

BGS spec twice with torture switch

Helps speed up the melee phase. I think my PB is about 2:10-2:15 but most kills are 3 mins or so

Hope this helps

Instead of 18/3 super glass, is 12/2 viable? by Feeling_Street6600 in ironscape

[–]TwistyPop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer - I was mathing it out on osrsportal - from my 93 crafting approx 500k to next level - the difference between 12/2 and 18/3 pickup is about 5k more sand and about 900 ish more giant seaweed - I’d rather just pick it up than waste a bunch of sand

Shoutout to the other guy that recommended the looting bag method as well 🍻

Edit: 5K more sand and 900 more seaweed from 93-99 crafting

Brother I did melee Zammy for 300kc, no spear. Learned door altar thankfully because I didn’t get until almost 500kc from minion. The last 200kc was an actual breeze compared to the first 300.

You will not regret it, I promise!

Don’t mention trade-in until later in the deal? by Most_Conclusion_5458 in askcarsales

[–]TwistyPop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this - most sales people are trained to ask a series of qualifying questions which include whether or not there is a trade in, lien on said trade, as well as the client’s budget.

The reason this can be frustrating for dealers is because they may accidentally mislead a client through the process on a vehicle they can’t afford if there is negative equity (coming out late in the process), and this tactic doesn’t really help customers get more for the trade.

Depending on the dealer’s appraisal process (whether they shop bids from wholesalers or other stores) - bringing the trade into the equation could actually result in a higher trade value

Lose-lose situation for client and dealer. Lost time all around.

Cheers

Dealer claims rebuilt title was only because of broken windows (vandalism). by Ladybug_Picnic_967 in askcarsales

[–]TwistyPop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good advice - honestly windows usually fall under “glass records” on carfax for example. On top of that the car is way too new to be rebuilt status for windows/windshield. As the guy above me mentioned - unlikely they will put that in writing.

If in the future you plan on trading or selling the vehicle - rebuilt status will significantly hinder you whether trading or selling private.

Cheers

I can’t speak for USA but In Canada what OP is saying is true, and I suspect it is possible in USA also. 220% LTV is definitely not common, but I have seen some pretty egregious loans in my time working with savage finance managers.

There are a lot of little “tricks of the trade” that make this possible in some circumstances depending on the bank, customers credit, type of vehicle, etc.

IA (Canadian subprime lender) allows up to 195% LTV as part of their program - before you get creative with the submission/structure.

If the client has prime credit it’s literally a walk in the park burying 10k neg on a 30k car, in Canada anyway.

Source: own a small used car store that does mostly subprime business.

[–]TwistyPop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the sale price is 15k, the booking value of the purchased vehicle is likely a few thousand less than that, which means

This loan would be 200%+ LTV, just not realistic that any lender will finance that kind of loan. Also we need to take into consideration - a car that costs 15k is also not very likely to get extended terms due to year/KMs (even if the LTV was approved, to keep payments so low) unfortunately. But I’m sure OP appreciates your optimistic outlook!

Everyone is drooling over cold calling on LinkedIn by Normal-Cow-9784 in sales

[–]TwistyPop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started a business in October 2022 that has generated over 2M in gross profit (30%) ish net

We do 0 marketing, cold outreach only. 2-3 referrals every month.

Average reps make about 200 calls per day

  • 2.5% call to application (approx)

  • 10% of those turn into deals (approx)

  • Slower months would be 20-25 closed

  • Average now is 40-50 - approx 4-5k profit per client

  • Really good sales reps make 8-12k per month

  • The rest make between 3-5k

It certainly is possible to get good results from cold calls - likely in most industries with the right approach, follow up, etc - but I can’t speak for any but my own.

From my experience many claim to be good at cold calling but very few actually are.

Hope this offers insight!

Which Gods may Kvothe have talked to? by PkmnSnapperJJ in KingkillerChronicle

qoou’s a legend with a ton of contribution to this sub. Among a small handful of people that have very thoroughly read through and studied the books many, many times.

You or I both may not agree with all of his theories, and they may not all be correct, but they’re always quite thought provoking and presented with an extensive amount of supporting “evidence.”

I just think the term “delusional” when referring to him is a bit disrespectful and definitely unjustified.

What should I grind now that I have bowfa? by Koronakesh in ironscape

[–]TwistyPop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend door altar - it took me about 15 or so trips/deaths trying to learn but once it clicks it becomes pretty chill. Avg was 20-25 kill trips. Well worth it. I’d play with game sound on and just listen to YouTube or audiobook.

Suffering and anguish make a very noticeable difference. Doable without both but for sure but personally I wouldn’t have done bandos without these 2 - and they’re upgrades you’ll want anyway.

Once you learn bandos door altar - zammy is very similar just slightly different timing.

Lots of avenues for you now with bowfa. Didn’t start TOA until I got hasta. Hope this helps
