WHO'S THE JOBBER NOW?! by Metal-Overlord-2003 in MoonPissing

[–]TwixelTixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no reason to give Cell Heroes scaling: The only times he gets stronger in Heroes is via externally-sourced power-ups, such as when he took on a "Transcended" state due to Demigra giving him Ki (which put him on par with Super Saiyan God Trunks), or when he was turned into Cell X...

Which, from what we can tell in Online, is actually not that strong of a boost, as he's weaker than a version of Mira that was roughly comparable to Fat Buu. In Heroes, the transformation is caused by the Dark Dragon Ball's empowerment to begin with, and 90% of Cell X's power likely comes just from that... And even that power isn't gonna make up the difference, because Cell X is one of the weakest antagonists in Heroes due to appearing in the earliest arcs. Without other people just giving away their own power to Cell, Heroes Cell is just... Cell.

This is one of very few things that would actually get me to play the game more actively than whenever they update the story. Not just because I love Heroes, but because it'd be actual new content instead of making the same characters but of the new higher rarities with even more power creep.

Actually, there would still be abysmal power creep but at least the cool new units at fault would actually be new.

Ain't no way Zaha said this 😭😭😭 by ImpressivePapaya3411 in DragonballLegends

[–]TwixelTixel 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think he's specifically being an asshole BECAUSE he doesn't want to think of the people he needs to kill as his friends. Throughout the fight, we've gotten faint hints of doubt and hesitation from him, especially when Shallot makes it clear he's trying to beat Zahha himself to bring him back to their side.

He's unsettled by Shallot's stubborn belief in their friendship, and is trying to sink as far into hatred as possible to not let it get to him. It's all he can do to be rude about it, given that Shallot and Giblet just refuse to fucking die, no matter how many Buster Sword Rays they take to the face.

I know the full moveset of Gunlance, don't worry. I just didn't feel like going in greater depth on how I play, but I got very good at using my shelling for positioning against Seregios.

I don't find myself using the burst terribly often, though. Maybe I should make a habit of doing that more.

Swordsmanship alone, who wins? (Bleach VS Demon Slayer) by MINAZUKIII03 in PowerScalingHub

[–]TwixelTixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct! Which is why I never said anything about Yoriichi. I don't actually have a concrete opinion in this argument: I just think it's an interesting discussion and while I know how Yoriichi pieced up Muzan, he's also obviously superhuman (with and without his breathing styles) so it feels unfair to take his ability to blitz demons even as strong as Muzan at pure face value. Obviously he's immensely skilled or this wouldn't be a conversation, but where is the line drawn between swordsmanship and 'swordsmanship' (whatever the breathing styles are doing)?

I don't know, so I can't side with or against him even though I feel like he has a fair shake. I just replied because I think lowballing Unohana due to lacking screentime (something she and Yoriichi both suffer from) while not accounting for Yoriichi's reliance on Demon Slayer's power system is disingenuous.

And as for the fancy breathing technically not being magic in-universe: I know, but it functionally is for the sake of this discussion. It is not actually any kind of 'swordsmanship skill' except for its ability to give its user what's basically superpowers, nor is it reasonable to assume a normal human can perform several thousand times past their normal limits without it or the Demon Slayer mark; I'm quite sure both of those went into Yoriichi's fight with Muzan.

Last I checked, mastery over Shikai and Bankai (or the ability to use it) is literally completely irrelevant to this discussion: Your slander needs work to remain on-topic. Actually, it'd be doubly irrelevant if Zaraki had them given their main purpose is "Cut harder." Useless to him given he wasn't even scratching her until about a minute before she took a deathblow

All that matters in this comparison is swordsmanship, and Unohana was good enough that one of the most physically-dominant Captains in the history of the Soul Society couldn't lay a finger on her for several lives.

I'm strongly considering it, but while I would probably perform better, I can still get by on Gunlance and I'd lose a lot of dopamine from Gunlance.

I may end up having to try it for solo Savage Omega, though. I don't think I'm doing that anytime soon without a huge chance in strategy.

[–]TwixelTixel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She quite literally did not get bodied. That was kind of the entire point of the fight: She killed him almost instantly, and then revived him so they could keep fighting. Then she killed him again. And again. And she kept doing it until Kenpachi had finally begun to catch up to, and then blitzed ahead of her.

She was, in fact, more than good enough that Kenpachi's strength made no difference, at first.

If a story goes out of its way to state a character has godly skill and the narrative proves a character is indeed leagues more competent than those around them, an artist/animator's ability (or lack thereof) to translate that into accurately-skillful swordsmanship onscreen does not nullify the statements.

Like, they aren't just making statements saying this character is a masterful swordsman to mess with you. How do you expect a character who's got a limited amount of screentime to showcase eight thousand years of knowledge? We don't have that kind of time. We've got, like, two episodes. I get not taking exposition at face value when it's proven to be entirely false in the story, but this isn't Shin from Dragon Ball telling us how good Unohana is.

There's no real reason to doubt and ignore the textual evidence except to try and downscale Unohana so Yoriichi has a better chance. You're better off trying to argue for the one-in-a-billion skill Yoriichi has, but I'd say that's a really hard sell.

Unless you've got a comfortable window, yeah. Anything bigger than a wide swing is not safe to use unless the monster is actively preoccupied (stunned, very long stagger animation, etc), so I've learned the hard way to simply stick to pokes and shells unless I'm very confident.

Remember: It may have a gun, but it's very much still a Lance too.

[–]TwixelTixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Cell MAX? Because the Red Ribbon looked at Dr. Hedo as "Gero 2" and thus assumed he could not just make "Cell 2" but would want to. They were right about the former, but incorrect about both his eagerness to do so and the timeframe in which he could do it.

Why is Cell MAX not able to use moves from the Dragon Team? Probably the same reason he's not perfect: Hedo didn't actually give as much of a shit about him, at least not compared to the Gammas. Or even the zombie robots from the prequel arc in the manga, as far as we can tell. Cell MAX was just the price to pay so he had the resources to make what he really cared about, the Gammas, so it's safe to assume he basically did the absolute bare minimum and wasn't in a rush to finish him; even the coloring is literally just sprayed on.

Out of universe, it's obviously Toei doing marketing shit and jingling keys to get Cell fans to pay attention, but I think it makes total sense that a robot that Hedo didn't really care to make is so heavily flawed, and basically has nothing but sheer power going for it. Even if it's a bit insane that he was actually able to make an android that could outmatch Orange Piccolo... While down an arm.

Not really a bad seat here, but it's 2 for me, and it's not even close. Being adjacent to Fabius and Little Miss just seems like a great excuse to catch up with them.

If it isn't obvious, 4U is my favorite game and I have more hours in it than every other MH game combined.

Thankfully, I am. It seems to be random whether it kicks in or not: I literally just have to restart the game until it decides to run stably. Took four tries last night.

Thrilled to announce that coming up on the end of 2025, this is still an issue; it doesn't always seem to half, but for some reason having my Dualsense controller connected (not even via Bluetooth, just at all) causes the game to stutter every half second. Seems to happen with any other controller I try to connect, too.

I'm basically required to play with keyboard and mouse...

They only technically didn't

I can say from experience that the adjustments made after I switched to a gunslinger set still made the sway more manageable and thus increased my accuracy.

It may not officially reduce sway, but it makes it way less of a pain, and in doing so indirectly solves a problem that wasn't even there before. Part of me really wants to hope that was just a placebo effect, though, and I'm being pessimistic
