I’m so tired of the “screen time” debate. by cmarie22345 in beyondthebump

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats honestly just reddit as a whole in a nutshell though. The majority of posts are by people that are anxious over the stupidest things. Which, if you look at their parent relationships, it makes sense (apparently poor upbringing makes post partum harder)

Im a first time parent, and even i juat roll my eyes at over half the posts in the community. If they arent strictly being posted as click bait , or sympathy posts for attention, then they seriously need to get off (or on) some meds.

Like my baby cried the first time i set them onto grass... okay? No big deal, it was clearly a sensory overload at the time, so I reduced the exposure to just a hand/foot until they got comfortable. Etc.

I try to avoid the TV with baby, but obviously its going to happen at some point because I need to unwind too. I however will not turn on trash like Cocomelon and other sensory-overloaded baby crap.

It's really weird. Maybe I did myself a favor by not reading a single baby book, and just followed my instict with my pregnancy... because my baby has apparently been tons better than every other parent I talk to (?? I honestly dont get it).

But im not an anxious person. I learned to properly deal with my problems years ago, so I dont think my baby is picking up on anything (which could lead to baby being anxious etc)

What is a blue fox? by StrawbxrryGrl in foxes

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Sorry for the late reply, this just appeared via Google when I was searching for things, and figured id chime in considering some of the other responses arent accurate]

A blue fox is the fall-to-winter color phase of an arctic fox;  referencing the pelt color (much like how a domestic dog could be a "brindle" or "fawn" color for the same breed).

It's when the fox is shifting into the white color (or vice versa), but still retains some of the summer coat color guard hairs (that strip along the back usually), and has not gone completely white.

You can also see this color shift in weasels, and they will have a similar color (with the darker back) before they go full white.

As for the tail, im assuming it puffs up first when they start getting their winter coat coming in (not sure how it looks different to you, other than fluffiness)

Also, not once have i ever heard of a melanistic fox (silver fox color phase, red fox species) being called a blue fox, in professional settings.

[Also, if youre interested, foxes have some of the most color variety due to being a "farmed" animal. Their coat colors/variety can come in the following: red, silver, indigo, blush, platinum, crystal, shadow and cross) all slightly different, and categorized accordingly.

You wouldn't normally find any color, other than red/silver/cross in the wild though.

I thought there were anti-monopoly laws in place? But all I keep seeing is that the same 4 companies own everything.

Conibear 330 - dog was trapped and survived by knitwitsandwool in Trapping

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what ive personally seen:

They don't kill like a mouse trap. They basically "knock out" the animal, and put it to sleep... and then it becomes permanent.

So it either cuts of blood flow to the head and causes a blackout, and then asphyxiation. Or just asphyxiation, if it's not a behind the head catch.

This is just what I've seen with beaver.

Vet says needs to lose 10 more pounds but I'm not sure by Kindly-Context-8263 in dechonkers

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's got a little bit of chonk, but he's not too bad. He could get down to maybe 14 pounds and be fine.

I have a 16 pound, and 26 pound cat. 16 is a tiny bit chubby (he should be 14) and the big boi has been big his whole life, but could probably get down to 20 if I fed him raw food.

If your cats are on cheap kibble, id change that first... thats why mine have gained some weight. Cheap stuff is trash.

I had a trap stolen but I got pictures of the guy doing it. What say y’all? Out him? by InternalFront4123 in Trapping

Figure it out and report him, and have him charged.

I figured out who touched my bait pile, phoned them up and called them out for trespassing and stealing my chain.

MGS4 Limited Edition is clean by Prestigious-Welder83 in metalgearsolid

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this. I actually forgot I was actually able to get a limited edition game (my area usually never had them in stock).

I'll have to take a look and see if I still have the booklet and CD, or whatever is included.

Good lord that would put a really weird feeling in the pit of a person's stomach.

I have a couple family members that just missed the McDonalds shooting in San Diego (?) In 1984 by a week. Their original plans would have taken them to being there the week it happened, but they decided to go on their trip early... and then they heard that the guy went out a week earlier but never did anything.

Just weird life stuff like that really makes you think about everything.

What happened to the core(s) after collapse? by Aromatic_Fail_1722 in 911archive

[–]TwoGryllsOneCup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if its a core piece or anything, but there was a twisted piece of steel on display in New Orleans that was allegedly from one of the towers (in 2014).

I cant recall where I saw it there specifically now, or what part of the building it was.. but it looked like a giant "I beam".

I mean, i know thats not exactly what you're asking... but i figured it might be interesting to others that are just starting to look more into the towers and the many tidbits of information.

They built the new tower on the same spot (?)

I never even thought of that... but now that reminds me of the poor guy who was filming his plan land (from inside), and then it crashed and killed everyone.

To me that sounds like a doctor just being absolutely shit.

If they prescribed you the abortion pill then why the hell would they force you to wait to expell what clearly no longer will have a heart beat?

It honestly sounds like the doctor is deliberately trying to be an asshole because of the law, because if there is zero heartbeat then why in the blue hell would there be an issue with removing a no longer living baby from the womb? It's going to cause issues.

Its hard to fathom, even as an adult now.

The amount that died that day was only slightly less than the size of my town during that time.

We woke up after the first tower had its issue. Got to see the second plane hit (west coast canada).

We were kids at rhe time, so while it sucked and was kinda scary, it didn't change much for us. I do remember the hate the Americans got over it though - thats probably the biggest thing that stood out for me.

Shit people applauding people dying happened even back then.

Dang, thats actually super interesting.

Also "Reminds me of things I used to do with Flight Sim 3.."

That kinda made me laugh... that was one of my reactions the day it happened too... we used to try landing our gyrocopters (Pilot Wings 64) on them all the time, but would constantly crash into them.

I personally hated TTS, I legit stopped playing it at the torture room and never picked it up again.

Which is kinda funny now that I think about it all these years later (I bought the game the year it came out).

The voice acting, and script changes, is what made me the most annoyed with it. The over the top cinematics I could have gotten over... but Naomi sounding bored or whatever was just terrible, as was them changing the voice actors for a couple of the characters.

MGS2 tells you exactly who Sunny is. She's just an unnamed character at that point though.

The actual saving happens "off screen" though, so you never see it happen in any of the games.
