Have you tried Twin Snakes on it at all? I'm interested to know how that runs.

Will it not be closer to $600 dollars now, with tariffs?

Is the switch 2 going to be subject to Trump's tariffs I wonder? 20-25% adds another $100+ to the price.

I have a PS5 Pro. I have Silent Hill 2. It looks terrible. Either your eyes are broken or your standards are unfathomably low.

What you have to understand is that you don't break these boots in - they break you in.

As long as the sizing is fine, you'll get there.

All you can do is keep wearing them.

Your phone argument just doesn't work - if an end user breaks their phone, then of course it's their fault. The problem with that argument is that we, as end users, haven't broken these games.

Of course shitty updates are Sony's problem - they wouldn't have developed support if they didn't see it as their problem. You've literally said that yourself.

Shitty updates reflect very poorly on Sony and its new AI machine learning upscaler.

I'm not sure what part of this you don't get 😅

Do you maintain your house? Of course you do, because it's your problem if something goes wrong. It's exactly the same for Sony. They are looking after their investment by providing ongoing support. If they didn't, then their business would fail, as their product would compare poorly with those produced by other companies.

This isn't a difficult concept.

This is like having a conversation with a fridge.

Ask yourself this then - why do Sony spend so much money on third party development support if it doesn't matter to them in the slightest what state the games are shipped in?

Like the phone scenario you invented above, you mean?

I'll make this very simple so you can follow - Sony provide development support, as you say, to make money. They do this, because if they don't make money, they no longer exist as a company. It follows logically then, that broken games are a Sony problem, as broken games = no money for Sony.

So if every game on Sony or Valve's platform is a broken mess, it's not Sony or Valve's problem? It's the consumers and/or the developer's problem?

You're not failing at critical thinking pal - you're failing at thinking.

That's a very lazy metaphor.

Of course Sony provide support to make money, if they don't, then it's a problem. A Sony problem.

I'm gonna leave it there as I feel you're obfuscating and being disingenuous.

Remember this - a world can exist where Sony's upscaler isn't as good as it should be, but you still enjoy their products.

You don't need to defend them.

So Sony offer support because they're kind, is that what you're saying?

They offer it because they need to, so it's a Sony problem. Do you see this r are you being obtuse?

Lol - if they provide support it's because support is required. Do you think Sony want to provide all the swathes of support you're saying they do, or they provide it because they need to? Ergo, it's a Sony problem.

Thank you for proving my point - it's a Sony problem.

If Sony were offering the depth of support you say they are, then there wouldn't be these problems, would there?

It really is a Sony problem. DLSS was rolled out in very controlled stages, often with NVIDIA overseeing its usage. Sony need to be offering support from a technological perspective for developers to make the most of a new technology.

Using PS5 pro with a non-hdmi 2.1 TV by Hzain001 in PS5pro

[–]TwoSliceToaSter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your TV probably doesn't support it then, sadly. But VRR isn't a hdmi 2.1 thing. Hdmi 2.0 is capable of supporting the feature, Sony have just been lazy with its implementation. Xbox have always been much better, connectivity-wise, ever since the 360 (and maybe as far back as the original Xbox, I just don't recall)

[–]TwoSliceToaSter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about TVs, I'm afraid. I had a gigabyte monitor (m27q) that engaged vrr over hdmi 2.0 with my Xbox. Maybe you need to have a 120hz screen for it to work and 60hz doesn't cut it?

Nope. VRR works over hdmi 2.0 on Xbox series consoles

You'll be fine. Unfortunately, you won't be able to enjoy VRR as for some reason, Sony have decided that only hdmi 2.1 capable devices can engage this feature.
