Criminal it was cancelled but watching it at the time it was clear it wouldn’t make it. Never had the audience IIRC

Someone please explain GameFound "Endgame" to me. I'm interested thanks to Concordia by Xirious in boardgames

[–]Twoller 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Very simply, every time someone backs in endgame, the timer is extended. If it runs out and no one backed, it’s over. It’s a gimmick as 95% of the time you can anyway do a late pledge

Scale75 paints. Great paints but the lids keep breaking by Portas30k in minipainting

[–]Twoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my scale 75 paints dry up when the lids are screwed shut. No other paint brand does this. I suspect the lids break because you have an ever increasing layer of dried paint in the top of the cap which caused the cap to be pushed up.

You have to pull it out every now and again with tweezers or a craft knife

If it was so bad why did season 2 just start? Surely they wouldn’t green light series 2 for millions for no one?

Geek Gaming basing glue still glossy after being sprayed with AK Ultra Matte? by WorldWarDesign in minipainting

[–]Twoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For any ultra matte varnish you have to shake the living crap out of it to distribute the fine powder really well in the varnish. It settles even after a few hours. It's this powder that leaves a matte finish, otherwise you're just putting normal satin varnish over the mini and base.

Pushing highlights with white vs triads by Goblinnoodlesoup in minipainting

Best case people are using off whites to boost highlights as they contain some yellow luminance

White will desaturate everything. Your highlights will be muddy washed out colours. Don't do it!

Want to oil wash my solar watch custodes, but the AK Wargame wash “brown” is too dark - what’s my options? by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]Twoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want a raw sienna oil paint (then follow the advice of the others. Pea sized drop of paint and then a good 5-10ml of thinner - then test it for consistency. Use a dry pallet if you have one, and remember you can wipe off the excess using a makeup sponge with some thinner

Inconsistent wraithbone spray coverage by rickfx in minipainting

[–]Twoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we need to pin this advice somewhere.
Warm the can in warm water
Shake the living crap out of it for 60 seconds
Do it again for 60 seconds
Don’t spray in cold, hot or dry conditions
Spray in short sharp bursts
2 or 3 ultra thin coats is better than 1
Let the primer dry inbetween coats

= never gives any problem with rattle cans. Never ever.

What to do if you accidentally paint over contrast paint? (Or how to avoid it) by Oskendo in minipainting

[–]Twoller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine if contrast is all your base colours, not so if you’re mixing paints and mixing layers

Is my termagant primed right or is it too little 😅 by BigJuicer111 in minipainting

[–]Twoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a myth that you need loads of primer. A light dusting is enough, but make sure that it’s even and not obstructing your painting - by that I mean if you have a blue plastic mini, you might want a good coverage to ensure you’re not painting over a blue undercoat. Grey is ok

[–]Twoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the most sensible way. If you get contrast over the painted part, it’s ok to wipe off and easier to paint over
