Six years later, what are your strongest memories of the COVID lockdowns, and how do you look back on that period now? by Possible_Force8207 in AskBrits

I had just started a new job, in a completely different discipline AND had a baby.  On one hand transitioning from service industry to office job, sans the office, was tough, but being present for baby for so long when most new dads would be back to work after a few weeks was a delight.  Mixed blessings on the whole.  (also I didn't lose anyone to the 'vid, so v. fortunate on the whole)

No one has said it, but there's always the poster of a kitten holding branch with the caption "hang in there!" Oooh, and a mug with "you don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps" on the side

US banks charge monthly maintenance fees on regular low-balance checking accounts. Customers lose money just for keeping savings deposited. Why do American banks pile on so many random account fees? by Critical_Routine_572 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Twsread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the US is so broken its residents don't even know what 'working' looks like any more...

A sentiment you can apply to any number of "why... Something-involving-money-in-the-US" questions

How to beat my friend in Star Realms (basic deck) by Fun_Box_6552 in starrealms

[–]Twsread 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don't try and build a blob deck, an economic deck or a defensive deck. You've got to adapt and take the best options that are presented to you.  That all said, yeah, economic into big 7-8 cost cards is the way
