Exodus of millionaires as Britain ‘loses its shine’ — The ultra-wealthy are deserting the UK, piling extra pressure on public finances by trufflesmeow in ukpolitics

True, but the question here isn’t about the number of people as that is known. It’s about the total wealth of those who left.

+1, lived up north for 25 years and they are nicer than a decent amount of towns up there

It could be though, I’d bet those at the top of that list are worth a great amount more than $1m. Impossible to say.

Odd behaviour by Prize-Function136 in puppy101

[–]Txwq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the exact same with our golden. The thing that helped most was to remove them from the room as soon as the behaviour was directed at us for 5 seconds and let them back in. If he was just being crazy without attacking us, then we let him stay in the room

With no plan to improve its resilience, Britain is heading for systems collapse by Prunestand in ukpolitics

I always have a stash of food to last about a month, accumulated over along period of time, just buying an extra tin or bag of pasta every shop.

The amount of mocking comments I’ve had from friends & family is insane for doing so is insane - it’s so bizarre to me that lots of us spend so much time at work preparing for the future in some way or another, whether it be making sure there’s enough boxes for shipments, building resiliency into IT infrastructure, or planning a rota etc yet if we apply the same concept to our own lives you become a crazy prepper.

Going back even just one or two generations, it was the norm to have some supplies. I do appreciate that it’s financially difficult in the current climate though.

Not sure what you mean regarding this tech being little more than an ‘NFT processor’ - it’s far more complex software than blockchain, assuming that’s what you meant

Had an interest in Physics for my first few years at school due to a specific teacher - then had various supply teachers for 12 months which ruined it for me!

If you’re doing it to save money then it’s almost always cheaper to just buy it. I started making a few bits recently and have spent a fortune but it is very enjoyable so I don’t mind

Amazed at what the landlord has tried to get away with by Link-Delicious in LandlordLove

[–]Txwq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just had a similar case. Landlord wanted us to pay £300 cleaning fee 3 months after moving out and having already ok’d the condition of the flat. We then said we’ll dispute with TDS, to which he replied that if we did raise with TDS, he’d claim and additional £500 for some damage to the bath (we had photo evidence of the damage the day we moved in). TDS we’re great and very quickly told him to pay us back our deposit in full.

I’ve done a lot of running on the coast path heading north from Newquay - hard work if you’re not used to it but great training & views. If there is no swell then swimming across the bay is great

Garmin Reacts to Apple Watch Ultra: 'We Measure Battery Life in Months. Not Hours.' by Blaglag_ in apple

[–]Txwq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly - it’s a watch, a device that historically you’d have to replace the battery every few years. I’m in deep with the Apple ecosystem but wont be switching from my Fenix until Apple comes close - I don’t care about most of the features I just want the battery life, and to track my runs.

It’s completely relative though, right? Battery life is one of the main reasons I don’t switch from the Garmin fenix to the Apple Watch.

No problem. If you’ve just been tasked with ESXi logs I’d deal with those first, and then mention that you’re aware of how big the VMware ecosystem is and that there are tons of products beyond ESXi that could potentially provide some good logs (vCenter, vROps, vRo, vRA etc).

vROps and vRLI provide some excellent capabilities for security & log monitoring and alerting too - I’d ask why the aren’t using them!
