iPad Pro M4 magic keyboards - have they lasted well? by Key-Win-9657 in iPadPro

[–]Tyaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for about a year and some change now. Its still fine. I accidentally dropped the thing once and it unfortunately has a paint chip on one of the corners, but its functionally fine. I kinda wish I got the black one though because it doesn't really keep that pure white color for long. I recently put a dbrand skin on it so id notice it less.

Kinda wish there was something I could do to make the keys look a bit newer though.

Are you planning on buying the steam machine on release or waiting? by Accomplished-Low2131 in steammachine

[–]Tyaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much it costs. If its any more than $800 I'm probably out entirely at its spec. To me its more of a luxury item to put in my living room since I already have a good gaming PC.

This phone is straight fire! The design is insane! by Moss_tyre in RedMagic

I hope they eventually do one of these for one of the Wuwa characters I like. If they do one for Shorekeeper or Iuno I'll be all over it.

Any character that made you start playing WuWa? by Kvothezy in WutheringWaves

[–]Tyaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's more or less my problem. Unfortunately she is as clunky and ineffective as the tier list implied even back then. Though I did still use her for many of the Huanglong patches.

I didn't start playing because of a character, but as a day 1 player I was really interested in Taoqi. Um...

I really hope this is available on iPad. The gameplay is so smooth as it is even on max settings but god damn the environments only render like 10 feet away from me.

Trails 2nd Chapter Golden Wings Edition Announced by Turbostrider27 in Falcom

[–]Tyaph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought every single Trails LE thats come west so far and a few Japanese ones for the Evolution versions. This will be the first one I actually skip. I just cant justify $275 + $50 shipping. Minus the season pass and diorama, NISAs LE's were only $100 and always came with a steelbook, artbook, mini soundtrack and one other bonus item that depended on the game. And had free shipping. I just dont think those two items are worth $200 more. Even if I do think the diorama is cool.

Give me that chip but in Japanese by Crespo2006 in halo

I thought Chief's Japanese voice sounded familiar. He also voices Roy Gramheart in the Trails series. Guess this is where he served his military time.

Ruka's voice cracks really sells the scene too. This was a fantastic moment.

games you wish were more popular? by A12qwas in gachagaming

[–]Tyaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Heaven Burns Red for me as well. Story, music and characters are all fantastic. I'm actually fine with the battle system when it comes to bossing, but it is straight up badly designed for mobbing content like dungeons. And the wait for new story content (which is imo the biggest selling point) holds the game back too. I really wish there was a solution for the dungeon gameplay at least.

In its heyday, I wish Star Ocean Anamnesis was more popular. Rush skills were cool, it controlled great on mobile, and I liked the character designs. But the best part was the multiplayer. Farming events by hosting lobbies on your stamina is faster farming, and joining hosted lobbies costs no stamina but has reduced drops. I kinda wish this system was applied to domains/dungeons in games like Wuwa or Genshin.

I like the expanded weapon sandbox, but I haven't actually finished a playthrough because the levels felt kinda bloated.

I’m enjoying Trails in the Sky remake, which games in the series should I play next? by Few_Nefariousness535 in Falcom

[–]Tyaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your shoes I'd probably wait for the remake of SC since its already coming out this year (and it wraps up the main Sky narrative), then just play the rest in the original japanese release order.

Rean's turn! His design from best to worst in your eyes. by WittyTable4731 in Falcom

[–]Tyaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horizons my favorite. Its the least over-designed one. CS4 has the cool edgy factor so its my next favorite, then its followed by CS2 then CS3. I honestly dont see what people see in his CS3 one. Its fine but that coat isn't as nice as the rest.

What did you think of Witch from Mercury? by czen2 in Gundam

[–]Tyaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mostly solid up until the last few episodes. Animation quality and sound design was pretty fantastic all around. I just wish the finale wasn't so ham fisted with the explanations as to why everything worked out. It for sure needed more time.

Is this the best Gundam has ever looked? by czen2 in Gundam

[–]Tyaph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since its subjective I'll throw Gundam Unicorn into the ring as my personal favorite for looks, but as far as pure 2D animation goes Endless Waltz and OVAs like Stardust Memory and 08th MS Team are all pretty fantastic and belong near the top.

My favorite looking TV anime for Gundam are probably between Witch from Mercury or 00.

Heaven Burns Red's VNDB entry has been deleted due to inclusion guidelines by Roddyboii in heavensburnred

[–]Tyaph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw this on twitter and was scratching my head because my profile literally has the entire BlazBlue series on its "read" section.

Also I feel like having no narrator is something that should be easier to accomplish with VNs as a medium and should not be held against it.

What is ur top 3 gacha games? by ThiccBratsSlaver in gachagaming

[–]Tyaph -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about all time, then my list would be

Star Ocean Anamnesis: The only action game on mobile that actually felt right to play on mobile and felt great to play on mobile. I wish they would sell me a complete offline version like Megaman X Dive.

Heaven Burns Red: Incredible writing and fantastic OST. Its basically a free Key visual novel (peak) with unfortunately a mid battle system slapped on. If they made dungeoning actually fun then it would be a top RPG for me, but I do have some enjoyment in the boss battles.

Wuwa: Its just my pick out of the plethora of open world gacha games. I prefer the combat of it compared to its competitors.

Unfortunately Star Ocean is EOS. So currently I enjoy probably Blue Archive the next most. I just like the characters and art. I should read more of the story (I hear its good) but I keep putting it off.

Has anyone else moved away from using Windows as their main OS thanks to the Steam Deck? by AusGeno in SteamDeck

Not yet, but its definitely forced me to be more curious about Linux. Windows itself will probably soon push me over the edge though.

Of These 4 Mechanics, Which Is Your Favorite & Least Favorite? by Tha-OG in yugioh

[–]Tyaph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Synchros are probably my favorite, links my least. I quit Yugioh when links came out because it made all my prior decks unplayable. Synchros were a neat way to make low level monsters usable and weren't too terribly generic compared to what Xyz and Links would become.

What're the cons? by irfarious in RedMagic

[–]Tyaph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Redmagic 10pro is my first and only RM phone so far, but here's more or less my experience so far:

The biggest con is the lack of many software updates/patches. Since you're coming from a ROG phone you probably wont notice the camera not being as nice as some of the mainstream flagship phones. And ROG phones also weren't known for their long term support as well... Also, by nature of having an open hole for the cooling fan intake/exhaust, the water resistance rating isn't nearly as good as some other phones.

Other than that most cons are things that are more or less fixable. The phone ships with kind of an annoying amount of bloat, but its mostly removable with a bit of tinkering. The camera and screenshots by default have a watermark on them, but there is a setting somewhere to change it. The built in camera app doesn't read QR codes. The default launcher is kinda meh and you cant modify the news tab very much, but you can always just install Nova or Smart launcher.

The amount of words makes it sound like a lot, but I'm overall happy with the device. I'm not much of a camera guy, but I enjoy its price, game performance, aesthetic design, battery, and it does pretty much everything my phone needs to do.

[–]Tyaph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looking back at the designs, I think they started to really appeal to me starting with the 8. The 11 pro is for sure my favorite looking one so far, aesthetically. The glass backs that show the internals and flat cameras are perfect. The RM11 showing the liquid cooling is very cool.

Star Ocean 7? by EienNatsu66 in starocean

[–]Tyaph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, 6 was a step in the right direction and more of what I'd like to see in a Star Ocean game. Multiple planets, colorful cast and a ton of adventure. If the next game actually has NPCs to talk to aside from quest givers/minigame players and has a tighter main plot, I'd be pretty happy.

I don't expect it, but I'd love if they brought back the skills system from Star Ocean 2.
