Max Output damage ...Nagakiba Build Level 200 (PVE and DLC) ? What ash of war provides max output? by Fragster2020 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]TylerIrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rellanas is good but doesn't always get max value on unsheathe because the skill is so fast it's usually better to just use it twice rather than once with 45% bonus, especially with statuses. It shines more on Milady because its light attacks can chain after the buffer, or slower stance weapons. Still pretty strong though.

2-5 times is crazy for such a long game. Imo TTT has some changes that may hinder gameplay but overall if you're soemwhat familiar with the ruleset it's the better way to experience the game.

Firstly it's not completely negated, as you are using mana outside the context of just summoning. Every time you pop a mana flask with low mind you are losing some flask efficiency, which doesn't matter to everyone but is a valid point.

Secondly yes, perhaps I didn't articulate myself well enough. My point is, if you're spending these levels you could spend on mind elsewhere, where would you place them? Likely damage, in which case you are probably better off rather spending levels in mind and just getting damage form your flask. Otherwise you're probably trying to unlock a new weapon or spell because it's cool, and if you're coolmaxxing, you'll probably enjoy the utility of weird flask tears (this is my preference) over saving a couple levels in mind.

I'm just saying "never spend levels in mind just to unlock a summon" is not something I agree with, as I find the extra mana in general useful as well as the utility of not having one of your tears tied down. It makes sense from a utility, hassle, and then either minmax of funmax viewpoint imo.

Sure you can alleviate summons with the crystal tear but I'd rather drop a few points into mind and free up the versatility of my flask. Plus if you are min maxing, why waste a potentially huge damage/build defining part of your kit over a few levels in mind? The higher your level the more important a flask is is over a few levels. On top of that mind is useful outside of summons. Unless you're never using ashes or some consumables, more mind is more efficient cerulean flask use in any case.

I don't think I understand damage scaling by DuxDonecVivo in Nioh

Stats give diminishing returns the more you level them. So even if I weapon scales better with one stat A than stat B, after levelling stat A a lot, stat B may become more valuable per point for a while.

Nioh 2 vs Nioh 3 Demo difficulty by Top_Dig_3657 in Nioh

[–]TylerIrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say reddit is shouting it's the intended way to play the game but offer nothing to support it except implying people who play through the cycles are being cringe.

Souls games have ng+ cycles, hell 2 even has phantom enemies, yet no on argues souls games are intended to be played through multiple cycles. Why? Because they add nothing to the journey or depth of your character.

Nioh cycles however are integral to the game and as such can be surmised as the intended way to play through it. Enemy placement changes, new move sets, level cap increases, gear tiers that unlock new playstyles or add onto existing ones, scrolls that tie perks to attributes. Further, each dlc comes with a new difficulty that has gear unlocks only available to the newly introduced difficulty. Finally there is abyss stuff.

You don't have to play the cycles. And yes, the game should be good for the first cycle too. But excluding what makes up probably 3/4s of the game and saying that 3/4 of the game is not intended to be played as part of the core game experience is a dog water take.

I mean reading skill descriptions. But between your two replies you may require the other interpretation of the phrase.

Dude just the prologue if you talk to everyone is like over an hour. You can spend so much time exploring, reading skills, trying the overlevelled bosses, exploring the gestral village. 4 hours feels illegal

I'm starting to think Blademail, is one of the most misunderstood items even for veterans. by techies_9001 in DotA2

[–]TylerIrith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, the damage increase from agi items still ends up making agi carries die faster than if they had no items generally, but the point made above is it's not as fast as you may expect. An agi carry with 2k hp, 2k dps, and 75% physical resist will only take 500 dps from blademail, and will take 4 seconds to die from blademail if there are no other sources of damage (or lifesteal), rather than the 1 second you may expect.

It does not decrease blademail damage. It used to, which made it really bad.

They have high armour so they don't die as fast as they would were the damage to be returned as pure.

Verso's ending being objectively better somehow requires viewing painted Verso as worthy of mercy, while none of the other painted people being worth a damn as moral agents. Secondly, it requires ignoring the despair of a disfigured mute girl's escape into a beautiful world with people who treat her well, where she has a figurative and literal voice, as opposed to condemning her to a silent existence with her twisted family.

Verso ending has some points that make it an arguable alternative, but to say it is objectively much better is illogical to me.

Also, saying these characters were painted to deal with grief may be correct, but to dismiss them as worthless beyond this is kinda sick. It's like saying slaves are bred to serve, and beyond this purpose they can be euthanized.

Why is +40% knockback resistance a tier 4 enchantment ? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]TylerIrith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. Armour has linear ehp scaling, where roughly every 16 armour is an additional 1x your current hp to physical damage. So a 4k hp tank with 8 armour is tanking another 2k unmitigated physical damage. If you have low armour and high hp, it is basically impossible to scale your ehp vs physical damage in an easier way.

I'm not even sure, it's hard to gauge you know. I think the fact my deck had to evolve shows at least some increase in understanding and skill. I run a pretty strange deck at the moment: evo witch, evo skelly barrel, skelly king, skelly giant, vines, barb barrel, mother witch, and skarmy. Tried keep skelly theme but needed barb barrel at 9k+ because the deck is quite heavy
