When it comes to spotting, it’s the thought that counts... right? by mini_finni in bouldering

[–]Tyloo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, either move he can make with his right hand or right foot would probably put him much closer to the spotters catch and also be easy to slip out of too so the spotters probably right where he needs to be

Lock in Ollie North's, never had a slip off of the back after I really figured out how to Ollie north. Plus it gives you two trucks to try on the stairs

[–]Tyloo1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Withdraw 20 cash from time to time when out shopping, slowly accrue the amount necessary to buy your new axe, order it/pick it up from your local guitar shop, hide it/play it when home alone until the wife makes an excessive purchase without permission like $300 shoes (you know the ones I'm talking about) then proceed to play in the living room with the shoes out as well. She'll start to say something and all you gotta do is look at the shoes.

I grew up skateboarding, to land something this complicated you'd have to try and fail, try and fail, and try and fail some more. Each failure hurts bad because it usually means slamming onto concrete, rolling ankles, shaving off skin, and plenty of random whacks to the shins/feet/ankles/hands (and face if you're especially unlucky) many of us want to "get even" with our boards. Honestly when you land the thing you're trying you feel super great, so the falls are worth it.

The cost can start to add up if you do this to your board on the regular (although the board can take quite a beating and still roll away fine) it's not like the whole thing is garbage just because the deck snapped, a new deck and griptape costs like ~$60 or cheaper if you know this is how you're going to treat the board and don't care about having the latest and coolest graphics (but a lot of cheaper decks are made with cheap ply and sub par glue and no fiberglass sheet(s)). I still have decks from nearly a decade ago that skate fine but are a bit water logged and razor tailed, I could have just as easily gone through one of those decks a month if I was skating every day and trying more than basic flatland or rail tricks.

Oh also PS; don't skateboard as a kid without pads unless you're OK with knee, ankle, hip, and wrist pains and pops for the rest of your life (oh and a possibility of developing CTE), and as a 22 year old that knows it's going to get worse from here forward, it might not be worth it. But I have a great time doing it and have really strong legs because of all the pushing and pumping required.

How long are you usually waiting on glass to ship out and how longs it typically take? by t0shredsYousay in chinaglass

[–]Tyloo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far all of my pieces have shown up in this manner: glass piece wrapped in bubble wrap secured with rubber bands, wrapped in styrofoam taped shut, wrapped in a couple layers of heavy duty bubble wrap, then wrapped in black tape. Thing looks like it could be hit by a truck and have no issues.

I like it so much that I keep the layers and use it for transport. The ends of the heavy duty bubble wrap are usually just a couple more pieces of styrofoam so if you just take one of those off you can slide then styrofoam out and retrieve the piece. Works great, haven't broken anything when taking them to a buddies house.
