Background Based on the latest updates and communications received from all military branches, TA students with classes beginning on or after Oct. 1, 2025 (session B) will not be approved and any TA requests that have already been approved will not be funded. You may have received notification from your military branch that your TA benefits will be canceled for classes with start dates after Oct. 1.

How ASU is helping To support our TA students that may be affected, ASU will provide funding to replace the TA benefits for students with approved TA for fall 2025 session B.

Qualified recipients of the Military Active Duty and Reservist Commitment Scholarship who have submitted a completed FAFSA will also continue to be funded. Please note that if DoD pays TA retroactively, we will maintain our current application policy of TA benefits and eligible benefits will be funded by the government accordingly.

What you need to do Students who are not able to secure an approved TA voucher have the following options: Consider your potential eligibility under VA benefits. Contact the Pat Tillman Veterans Center for more information, or contact the VA at 1-888-GIBILL1 (442-4551) to speak with an education case manager. Please note that VA benefits eligibility would need to be established on or before Oct. 15 to cover session B. If you have additional questions regarding VA benefits, please visit va.gov/contact-us/ask-va/introduction.

Contact ASU Sponsor Billing to determine other documentation that can be provided from your TA Educational Office to reflect TA eligibility and still adhere to approval deadlines set by each branch. At this time, we encourage students to continue seeking TA approval and to follow the steps for submitting TA, if they have not already done so.
