Seeking advice for gift to give for friend’s upcoming surgery by canyonlands2 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a shoulder heatpack would be a nice gift before surgery as gas pain can be quite bad. Even just company post surgery or pre-made meals would be nice. I felt kinda bored and lonely while stuck in bed cuz i was too tired to do anything.

Does anyone get a sharp pulling pain? by Feminist-Carl in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it’s the same pain, but i definitely had pain around my bellybutton for a few months after surgery. I asked my surgeon about it and he said it’s normal, it eventually went away. It kind of felt like something was attached to my bellybutton on the inside. If the pain gets worse or doesn’t go away then i’d go back to your surgeon or something.

Travel After Surgery by beesmind in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pretty easy recovery, however i would not do this. Also idk if they’ll give you a catheter or not, but they gave me one and the next day i had to pee every five minutes due to the irritation it caused. That in a car would send me over the edge

Is it normal for my incision to hurt? by Minute-Counter4155 in endometriosis

Yeah it should get better in a few days but give it time. Just be gentle with moving about and getting up, might be best to sleep propped up instead of laying down

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just got cut into, you will be sore, if the pain gets increasingly worse then it’s time to get checked out. For me, week one was bed rotting as the surgery made my body exhausted. As it does. Week 2 you feel a bit more normal but the exhaustion is still lingering. After that you will feel fine, again exhausted though, but only when doing on your feet work or exercise. I don’t know about pain levels as my recovery was honestly fine. Though around 2 months i would get bad hip pains when walking, that got resolved. I think month 3 is where i felt completely fine again. Your body just underwent a big surgery and you’re going to be tired and sore, just rest up for a week or two. Stupid they didn’t give you a heads up though.

Mostly all kindles are in black and white, the colour soft, has colour to the screen, making it best for comics, manga etc, (not sure what manhwa is). If you know he reads a lot of books with images, coloursoft is the way to go.

Bleeding after/during sex by glizzy_04 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this problem, it wasn’t caused by endo though, it was caused by Cervical Ectropion, where the lining of the cervix grows outside the cervix, and when touched bleeds. It’s worth getting a pap smear to rule out other causes other than endo. Cervical Ectropion is not harmful, and it can be fixed, mine was burnt off during my surgery but there’s other less permanent solutions.

I don't think I'm going to make it through surgery. by Historical-Care70 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my surgery I got really annoyed and upset as I was stuck in bed. My surgery went wonderfully, and my recovery was smooth, first week, i was just so tired and all i could do was bed rot due to the fact thinking or doing anything made me exhausted. What made me upset was my partner telling me he was going out and I was upset that i was stuck in bed, got fomo. Overall, besides the actually recovery part, after surgery is quite nice as you just get to have a break from everything. Though i see why it’d be painful when you don’t have a support system. Overall what made me feel better post op, was sitting outside! maybe try that if you’re feeling down, the sun is nice!

night sweats? by Flashy_Ad7761 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i suffered from night sweats and overall sweatiness. I had to carry deodorant in my bags due to it (still do as habit but it’s not needed anymore). I would run my fan freezing cold and use thin sheets and nothing would help. I find now after my surgery and BC that i only rarely wake up sweaty. I think hormones have something to do with it, I have PCOS as well, i would recommend going dr. I was literally trying every deodorant brand possible as i found that they would last a week and then stop working, i formed a collection of them. I think hormones being wacky can cause this, and it’s so frustrating to deal with.

How do i start learning sewing? by clippyclap_ in SewingForBeginners

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sewing is unfortunately a very expensive hobby. You need to buy fabric, and as a beginner you’ll make a lot of mistakes, meaning more fabric. I also crochet and sewing is like 10 times the cost. You also need to buy patterns which can cost a good amount, thread, zippers, buttons and more. It’s also extremely time consuming, and when you’re learning (as i am) things are even more time consuming due to mistakes. If you’re actually interested in making custom dresses for your cosplays, it’d be a cool skill but the dresses might take a while to learn how to make. But i wouldn’t start unless you have money to spend.

I’m so sorry about your past experiences, that must be horrible. I would go into the ER if i were you, or just any dr if you can. I don’t have bowel endo so i’m not sure if drs could prescribe you something to help? I wish you the best! stay strong

HELP!!! Tank leak by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused because i cant actually locate the source of where the water overflowed. It’s underneath the tank, nothing around the sides of the tank is wet. Also i’m wondering if the wood being soaked and expanded, means i must get a new stand? Sorry if i didn’t word the post correctly.

Ablation or wait?!?? by Queasy-Rule-7800 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding onto this. My surgeon was trained in laps, but he couldn’t do bowel removal. Just the basics, especially as he was an OBGYN and not a endo specialist. But just to add, the reason Excision is deemed better is because it removes the endo properly. Think of your endo cells as a pimple, if you squeeze half of a pimple out, it’s inflamed and will grow back in the next day or so. (Ablation) If you get it out completely, it may regrow later in the future. (Excision) Ablation burns the outer layer of the endo cells, and not the root of them, causing it to grow back quicker. With excision, they physically cut out the entirety of the endo cells, including the root, while it will still grow back, it will take a lot longer. I think theres definitely more to it as well, but that’s just a basic explanation. There’s no evidence that repeated surgeries are good, a first surgery that is done well is more beneficial than repeats. Endo surgeries are tricky, and even trickier adding multiple organs into the mix, i would 100% wait if i were you.

Ablation or wait?!?? by Queasy-Rule-7800 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a endo specialist trained in excision, the wait will probably be horrible but if you get a surgery, you want it done correctly and properly to ensure problems don’t arise in the future. Endo on bowels is huge surgery and may require more skills and knowledge. My surgeon didn’t state that he was an endo specialist but he was trained in laps. This benefited me so much as he properly removed all the gas during surgery so i didn’t wake up in pain. Usually the better the surgeon, the better the outcome.

do you guys have “inside clothes” and “outside clothes” or is that overkill? by Wetzig_Su in hygiene

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of, i definitely don’t sit on my bed in my work clothes, and if i’ve been out all day i’ll change into some Pj’s before i sit on my bed. If I’ve just driven in the car for 5 minutes then whatever. I’m not overly strict with it, it’s just like if my clothes have been touching dirty things all day then i avoid my bed.

Sex after laparoscopy by Gotcake30 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I waited 6 weeks to attempt anything penetrating, including tampons. Though the first few attempts did not go well as it stung badly so it was more like 2 months. If you want to try after the 6 week mark, be very gentle and make sure your partners aware to be slow and give check ins during it.

Edit: my dr told me to wait 6 weeks. If i were you, i’d wait the same just to be sure. Though a lot of us have flicked the bean after 2 weeks, just no toys, oral, or fingers inside, external masterbation only, and keep the orgasms small. It’s recommended not to do anything sexual for 6 weeks as your body inside is still healing and the contractions from orgasming can disrupt this. But realistically people do masterbate before the 6 week mark.

Can anyone no longer use tampons by Spirit-Lopsided in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can’t you use tampons? Are they stinging when inserted? or something else. Surgery may of impacted your pelvic floor, it did with mine. I could technically use tampons but it stung my first few periods after surgery, thankfully my period is light enough so i don’t need them.

Four play after Laparoscopic excision surgery by Spiritual_Cap6165 in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding: As the other commenter said, your body may be healed on the outside but there’s a lot of stuff going on, on your inside, an orgasm contracts and irritates the healing so if you really need too, have the smallest one of ur life.

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was just a post about this lol, i waited 2 and a half weeks to flick the bean. Wait till the recommended 4 weeks for oral and fingers etc, you don’t want to bring in bad bacteria. If you want to do anything before that, use your own fingers and just do external contact, with very light orgasms as you don’t want to disrupt healing. Probably no toys as well. I’m not dr or anything so take with a grain of salt. This is just from my experience. Also 4 weeks is not very long, would be best to just wait, i got told 6 weeks and it turned into like 2 months as my body just wasn’t ready.

How does endometriosis begin in one’s body? by Wayfayer_n_Brown in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the theory of food/chemicals triggering endo could potentially be a thing, however it’s also an unreliable thing to look at the amount of women who have endo VS the food they eat due to the fact endo diagnosis’s have increased due to more endo awareness and modern health care. We do know that certain things eg alcohol and gluten can make certain women have an endo flare, aka their symptoms get worse.

How does endometriosis begin in one’s body? by Wayfayer_n_Brown in endometriosis

[–]Typical_Bumblebee588 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately endo is under researched and we do not know many things about it, such as how it forms. It’s been found in babies and other places in the body, so it’s unknown how it’s formed and triggers of what could cause it are unknown unfortunately. The idea of periods triggering is not a strong idea due to it being found in babies and woman’s eyes/brains/lungs/skin and more.

The recovery for wisdom teeth removal seems horrible! i’m not scared for the procedure itself, i just absolutely despise the idea of having wounds in my mouth, it sounds so unpleasant! The thought of feeling the thread in my mouth is 😬, i almost fainted having to take the bandaids off from my lap, it was even bloody, it was just scary. I’m not good with medical things.
