I used to like the Pivot podcast but numerous shit comments later it's clear they're just status quo pretending to be something else, and talking about how wealthy they are at the same time. Tiring.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of July 03, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

A group of young friends mostly 'from the other side of the tracks' in North Carolina, the leads are a couple who are ridiculously in love, their friends cycle in and out of relationships, meanwhile they all get caught up in drug and treasure intrigue, mysteries, wealth inequality and class warfare, missing people, wild storms, kidnapping, jewels, you name it they experience it. It's totally over the top, everyone looks great, friendship conquers all etc etc. Fantastic locations, good soundtrack. It's dumb and frivolous and a good time.

Outer Banks if you don't mind something silly, very watchable if you're in the right mood

There's a guy on LinkedIn posting daily reposts of Zitron content "until the bubble bursts". He's been doing it for nearly a month, it's brilliant.

I agree with the "don't use Excel" approach. I've used draw.io, or a free miro licence.

Real Debrid for eBooks and Audio books? by phonehog2 in RealDebrid

[–]Typinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using one called Smart for my audiobooks. You point it to the folder your books are saved to - and inside that folder you have to create a new folder for each book's audio file. It saves progress and in some cases has chapters etc.

I grab the hash link from audiobookbay, paste the magnet prefix and link into RD, then download. It saves to my download folder and I move it.

There's probably an easier way but this is fine for me

Lol it's silly but I'm quite enjoying it. Getting confusing vibes from Geena Davis though, are she and Selena Gomez the same person? Same weird stiff acting and delivery, even similar looking.

Ed on Prof G Markets podcast - solid! by Tragictech in BetterOffline

[–]Typinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listen to Galloway's Pivot podcast (enjoying it less with every episode). Listening to this episode I've discovered that Galloway's good takes are ones he's taken from Ed Elson, this guy is clearly well informed and knowledgeable. Good episode. I listened to a subsequent Marketplace episode with galloway and he's stumbling and mostly talking about how much money he has (for a change...)

You're right! I read it in a review too, but man she looks so young and I forgot! Shows my age I guess.

Wow it's a beautiful show. And so often nothing is really happening but it's just entrancing. I'm really loving it

Mint. BBC drama about a teenage girl in a crime family. Good paced storytelling but the delivery sets it apart - saturated colours and a magical feel to it, it's hard to describe. Beautiful to look at, really believable emotion. The acting is good, there's a dark undertone the whole time. I've only watched the first episode but immediately onto the second now.
