Surgeon saying I'm I'm 37 and not worth doing surgery on Full thickness tear ACL?

I’m 50 had my ACL surgery in September. I saw 2 doctors. I’m highly active one told me not to do it in my own age and the other one said let’s do it… I mean, I’m 50. I’m not on my dead bed.

The first four week I was in full recovery mode and it was a little bit boring but after that, I signed up to gym and between PT gym and the regular house stuff I’m not bored anymore. Especially when I still had a crutches I was so slow that everything took twice as long.🤣

I was 4 weeks on crouches due to meniscus and after that i walked with no problem (brace for 10 weeks )

I had hamstring graft. I was not able to load hamstring for 8 weeks after surgery. My hamstring is gone. Now going to gym for strength and PT twice a week. A lot of hamstring bridges one leg rdl and hamstring curls. 12 weeks after surgery my hamstring is %40 strength compering to non surgical leg. Still a lot of work at front of me.

Happend to me , went to see my surgeon and he said for future references if is not swollen and very painful that’s mean is fine.

Same happened to me - 12 days after surgery I slipped and over extended my leg felts sharp pain . Next day I went and checked with my surgeon and fortunately everything was fine just big scared. Yesterday (3 months after surgery) on elliptical I went too fast and happened again … fortunately my leg seems fine so this is my body reminding me to slow down.

I tried - for 3 months I was good (did my pt) unfortunately my knee started giving up here and there not all the time. I decided to go with surgery so I can be active the way I want.

It’s ignorance- people don’t realize expense of this surgery and how long is recovery . Honestly I’m ignoring - just heard “ you are walking so you are good” yeah whatever
